It's my pleasure to serve. To tell you the truth, I can't beleive they pay me to land planes on carriers. I probably can't buzz the hotel, but I'm working on a flyover at Michigan Stadium sometime this year or next year. |

In 7 days I'll be on an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic somewhere defending this great nation's freedom. I'm crossing my fingers that the ship can somehow broadcast the game. Go Blue! |

In honnor of our future QB. Pee-Wee would also be a good name. |
| 1 year 8 weeks ago | B1G Championship |
If you look at Michigan's schedule on the same website, it shows that the B1G Championship is at 8 PM ET on FOX. The time and network on the OSU schedule is probaly a typo and is meant to be the B1G championship game (which would be on FOX). |

They don't stop hand checking. It is very frustrating to watch and I imagine, extremely frustrating to our players when they have the ball. Duke just keeps smacking at us. It doesn't seem fair. |

So weakest blocking call ever. I've seen offensive linemen block less!!! (BOOOOSH!). Getting progressively more drunk with this game. My nerves are fried. Rough day, thanks everyone not named Novak. |
| 2 years 14 weeks ago | Shooting |
So I really want someone other than Novak to show up on offense. Everyone else just left the meat locker they are so cold (*cue drums). Illinois's shooting is average, Michigan's is lame as balls. Other than Novak...he's the boss |

Just got back from my T-45 ride (it's a jet, WINNING) and noticed this score. Seriously?! This is awful. Also I hate the Big Ten logo sooo much |

As a Grizzly fan, I hope he ends up at Montana. Montana football had a down year this year and could really use Tate's skills. I wish him luck wherever he ends up. |

Courtney Sims? |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | Yes! |
And trust me, as hard as it is to earn your wings of gold, this "flat hatting" was definitely not worth it. In fact, I had to stay in on both Friday and Saturday night this weekend to study for my flights. Those guys worked SO hard to be Hornet pilots and in a matter of seconds, it was all for nothing. A very sad story, but something us young student naval aviators can learn from. |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | Interesting |
Yes, they sometimes do dets.to different places such as Fallon for Red Flag, El Centro for bombing practice, or various other places. My earlier comment was in regards to their "home" bases. |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | F18 Squadrons |
Most Navy F18s (Hornets and Super Hornets) are based in NAS Lemoore in California. The new Growlers (replacing the Prowlers) are also Super Hornets, but based out of NAS Whidbey Island in Washington. The US Marine Corps also have F-18s based out of Miramar, California. These are the only squadrons based on the West Coast. There are 5 of us Michigan alumni in flight school at NAS Corpus Christi flying T-34s. We can't wait for the day when we can do a fly-over at Michigan Stadium (don't worry, not in the T-34s)! |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | After Burners |
Due to FAA flight restrictions and Navy rules on speed and altitude for special events, the flyovers you have seen at Michigan games restrict the pilots from using afterburners and being below 1,000 AGL (above ground level). However, I agree that it is loud as hell. It is especially hard to hear the Color Guard Commander (person in charge of raising the flag) give orders while the fly-over is taking place.
Edit: 2 Navy F-18 Pilots lost their wings after a flyover at a Georgia Tech game last year because they were below their minimum allowable altitude. http://www.navytimes.com/news/2010/03/navy_pilots_punished_031910w/ |
| 2 years 42 weeks ago | Prowlers/Growlers |
The only place you will find Prowlers in the lower 48 are Whidbey Island, WA (Navy) and Cherry Point, NC (USMC). The Growlers are also only found in Whidbey Island, WA. |

Courtney Sims also had some playing time in the NBA. I remember him signing one of those 10 day contracts with the Pacers; not sure about his time in Phoenix and New York.

But only because I have two flight simulators tomorrow and the Navy's rule is "12 hours bottle to brief." My brief starts at 0650. I am jealous of everyone else who is enjoying their beverage of choice and am proud to be training to defend your freedom to do so.

I am not sure how the schedule will shape up with the addition of Nebraska, but we are scheduled to have Notre Dame, Penn State, and Ohio State at home in 2011 as of right now. The points made in your post, along with the favorable home schedule, is why I am very optimistic for the 2011 season and why I think Rich Rod should be the coach in 2011 (pending improvement from last season). His system is in place and he has his players. I really hope the team does well this year so that Rich Rod can keep his job and begin winning here in Ann Arbor the way he has won everywhere else he has coached. I think this year is just the beginning of many good years to come for the Wolverines! Go Blue! |

I had a class with Perry in Fall semester 2008. He was a really nice guy and really smart. I looked so small next to him and I'm 6'1''! I hope he gets more reps this year. |

He was a great pick-up last year for me in fantasy when Gore went down. It's nice to see that he is getting to walk away without injury to pursue a very noble career. I'm 23 and I would have a tough time making the decision to walk away from playing a pro sport and making millions of dollars. I respect his decision. |
