First Festivus Activity: Airing of the Grievances

Submitted by MGoVoldemort on
The tradition of Festivus begins with the airing of grievances. I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you're gonna hear about it! Let the airing of the grievances commence.

We've always had multiple Festivus threads, since I have been around the board.  But I can understand that someone who still defines themselves by a movie that is a decade older than anybody on the football team would be living in the past.

My grievance is with you people.  I could capture the entire body of original thought on this message board inside one of those little novelty liquor bottles.  They say a duck's quack doesn't echo, but "they" have never come here.  The opinions around here are as varied and well thought out as a bunch of waterfowl in an echo chamber.

"Quack, Harbaugh?"

"Harbaugh, quack, quack, quack"

"Quack, vitriol, quack, quack!!!"

I hope you people all save your original thoughts for your real life, and you don't go around quacking about ebola and the SEC all day, because you can only regurgitate other people's hot takes.

Seriously, you guys have a worse hive mind than a One Direction concert.  Years from now, they will be researching what kind of lock-step caused an entire nation to falsely believe that court cases should be solved in a wrestling ring, and that plants need electolytes.  And they'll come here.  To see how a bunch of monkeys can pinball one stupid idea until it becomes an altruism.

How does everyone on here feel about ESPN?  Oh, that's right... I can still hear that opinion echoing around.  Didn't really need to poll the audience on that one.  The comedy in the situation, is that we have become a Michigan-centric version of ESPN.  We're all experts... brah.  Strong opinions... brah.  Opposing viewpoints are for retards... brah.  Focus on one thing for 3 months, then move to the next... brah.  Sound like anything familiar?

But my biggest grievance is with myself.  For continuing to participate in this circle-jerk.  Anyone know what's new with the Harbaugh situation?

Well, apparently, it's happening, unless of course he has a last minute change of heart; which then means that it's not happening. Oh yeah, and ChatSports is not a legitimate source on any of this....

but we have to allow it.  And stop negging the shit out of anyone just because they have one.  And by that, I mean...argue with someone.  Don't just downvote them, who cares how many points they have.  Lets have a debate about sports.

Isn't that what sports blogs are about?

Mr Barnard (shouting) What do you want?
Man Well I was told outside ...
Mr Barnard Don't give me that you snotty-faced heap of parrot droppings!
Man What!
Mr Barnard Shut your festering gob you tit! Your type makes me puke! You vacuous toffee-nosed malodorous pervert!
Man Look! I came here for an argument.
Mr Barnard (calmly) Oh! I'm sorry, this is abuse.
Man Oh I see, that explains it.
Mr Barnard No, you want room 12A next door.
Man I see - sorry. (exits)
Mr Barnard Not at all. (as he goes) Stupid git.

I feel similar but couldn't put it into those lengthy sentences.  I disagree with a lot of the crap posted on here, mostly from the newer crowd.  Yea, I'm old.  Graduated over a quarter century ago. I can't stand the RCMB-type crowd that's infiltrated the board.  But I also realize that that's the price of popularity.  The bigger MGoBlog gets, the more it'll attact a new crowd. The important thing is that the bedrock remains in tact - Brian, Seth, and the rest of the crew.
