Football spring practice will start Monday...

...per the Freep.  This is about a month earlier than past years.  They will have the standard 15 practices with no word on a spring game yet.

I wonder if the February start is to work in the new schemes early--get the basic installations done and then let the players soak up the playbook the rest of the spring into the summer.  Let the new coaches mark their respective territories early.

Between my corner lot, my elderly neighbors next door, and the steps and back walkways for our two properties, I shoveled about 1000 cubic feet of snow. At 7 lbs per cubic foot for the light, fluffy stuff I was shoveling, that comes to 3.5 tons. Naproxen will be my friend. Plus some scotch.

whoa, whoa, whoa, hold up here. don is like 2,000 years old - look at his avatar.  he used to rub elbows with pharaohs back in the day.  heck, he remembers when moving to a better place meant winning a battle with a neighboring people-group and getting a bigger cave with better ventilation for the cook fire.  his childhood drawings were on cave walls.   68 yrs old.  pfff.

I will say the hype every year is immense. Then the team generally has huge holes and all the hype just makes people angry because it was obviously false. We hear how good the defense is and it's a shit show. We hear how the defense is getting pushed by the offense, but it's just as bad.

Harbaugh just needs to get his shirt together or he needs to move on. No cohesion, no fire, no drive, no organization, no hurry when in a two minute offense... Just a shitshow  of a team, stomping on the body bags and losing to any team with a pulse.

More likely a result of CoVid. You have to get all of your practices in by a specific date, so starting earlier allows you to spread those practices out and reschedule some if you need to. While also installing more cautious CoVid protocols in between practices (testing and results between each practice instead of testing, practice 2-3 times and then getting results for example)

Waiting last minute and trying to get all of your practices in won’t work out well if there’s an outbreak on the team or if athletics are shut down again.

After that disgusting 2020 season this team needs all the practice they can get. But with a fan base that doesn’t hold their head coach accountable it doesn’t really matter. Harbaugh can go 1-11 in 2021 and fans would still defend him. I’m done arguing with the lemmings. This is why I’m focused on basketball until august 28. Don’t wanna ruin the sweet success with bitter news. BEAT RUTGERS!

So Bielein takes over a mediocre program, has two losing seasons in his first three years but because he took the program to the top 32 in year 2, you staunchly defend, even through a 16-16 season?

Comparatively, Harbaugh takes over a program in a nose dive, immediately turns it around with double digit wins and gets them in the top 10 in year two, but he can't get one year during a pandemic?
