Great post!

Great post!

After spring ball, the most…
  1. After spring ball, the most improved offensive player will be Darius Clemons or Tyler Morris.
  2. After spring ball, the most improved defensive player will be Kenneth Grant or Derrick Moore.
  3. I am (you are) most excited to hear about the defensive line this spring.  Could be one of the best in the country.
  4. Running Back room and OL room will be Michigan's biggest strength coming out of the spring.
  5. Having a trascendent WR and quality depth at TE will be Michigan's biggest concern coming out of the spring.
  6. Cornerback will be the biggest transfer portal need after the spring.
  7. The biggest story surrounding Michigan Football this spring is the 2023 team will be better than the 2022 team.  JJ will be much better, offense will be more balanced, OL will be better, DL will be better, LB will be better.
  8. The position battle that I am (you are) most interested in is at cornerback and WR!
  9. It's time for Darius Clemons to step up this spring.
  10. Outside of remaining healthy, passing game chemistry and developing cornerbacks and tight ends is the most important thing Michigan Football must do this spring.

2023 is Natty year for the Michigan Wolverines.  Book it.

About right.  They are kids…

About right.  They are kids.  They all play a very violent game.  Shouldn't be completely fucked over for it.  But also shouldn't go off completely free.

HUGE!

HUGE!

This is all about NIL and…

This is all about NIL and the players.  Nothing to do with salary or even buyout, imo.  Harbaugh is going to bat for his players to make money and for Warde to get in the game with NIL so he can recruit legitimate talent (jadyn davis).

A battle for the future of the program, possibly

He's gone.

He's gone.

JJ is the much better…

JJ is the much better quarterback though

More money should go to the…

More money should go to the Star players.  Should not be hyperfocused on equality across all sports.  Pay the high performers.  If you try to equalize over 100+ athletes, will never be meaningful $$$ to stars

I think consumers need to be…

I think consumers need to be nailing these companies (FOX) on social media about the ridiculousness of the Ads vs Gameplay ratio.

WIll Johnson is a lockdown…

WIll Johnson is a lockdown guy already.  He will be the star of our defense the next two years.  Awesome to have him.  Weapon.

wake me up in the second…

wake me up in the second half.  that's when we start laying the clamp down.

I am so excited to see us…

I am so excited to see us possibly shift towards a more pass based offense for the remainder of the season.  JJ has earned the trust.  And Corum being out makes it intelligent to shift more towards pass while still maintaining the strong run game.

Is this next years college football season?  Or the college football season that begins in Sept. 2024?

I do not want to play JSN and Harrison in the playoffs

Mason Graham is playing like…

Mason Graham is playing like a Top 5 type recruit.  He's an absolute beast for a true freshman, as a DT.

Just imagine him and Grant as sophomores and juniors anchoring our DL.

That was atrocious clock management.  Harbaugh needs to take a class on that or something - he's strangely clueless in that area of the game.

Great post and thoughts btw!  Good analysis

I think it'll be a complete…

I think it'll be a complete toss up.  A bad TO from JJ could lose us the game.  But I think JJ and this team overall are gamers, and that they will be the hungrier team going into that game.

I get nervous with it in Columbus and the bias the refs give OSU.  They're good for a free couple PI calls a game down there against us.

I love that Stroud can't run.

I feel that we are going to win a huge game, and they're going to run Ryan Day out of town after losing to us twice and missing playoffs again because of it.

Going international is…

"1. Texas A&M isn't going to be affected by the Bitcoin drop at all, they'll just have each oil baron pay recruits in titles to oil wells. "

Incredible line.  Great analysis overall, impressive.

This is great content. …

This is great content.  Taught me something.  I feel like they are setting up this offense more for JJ's skillset, or at least constructing it so that it has the opportunity to run plays designed for a fast QB that can run and sling the ball on the run.

My belief is that JJ would thrive in a complex, fast paced spread scheme where read options lead to bubbles etc.

Cade seems best in a traditional pro style offense with bootlegs and throwing from the pocket (not on the run).

Weiss and Moore are likely designing an offense accordingly.  Hybrid.

Good, huge upgrade. …

Good, huge upgrade.  Brandstatter and Dierdorf were both bad.   Great guys though.

Let's create an MGOBLOG…

Let's create an MGOBLOG slush fund.

JJ's development and growth…

JJ's development and growth from freshman year to sophomore year is the most intriguing narrative for M football right now.  Is he capable of being a first round NFL draft type player?  If so, will likely show itself this year.  And also if so, we will be a top 5 team in 2022.

I'm most excited that we have legitimate stars (plural) at RB and WR.  Donovan Edwards and Corum is an electric duo.  WR - Ronnie Bell and Andrel Anthony.  Highlight reel type players.

Mix in that the OL should be good-to-great (keegan and zinter top 3 rounds of nfl draft type players) with the Center coming in.

I hope this isn't for a high…

I hope this isn't for a high position.  This is a very unimpressive hire.  Have met him... not much charisma.

You are a classic boner.  Embarrassing/Sad

I was thinking 10.  Nice.

I was thinking 10.  Nice.

Don't think we have a guy…

Don't think we have a guy that will go from no one to top 10 pick.  That's pretty rare.  That said, I think we've got numerous guys on the DL that could make their names known next year.  McGregor Mike Morris and Jenkins come to mind for me.

Haven't heard much about Rayshaun Benny.  Would be awesome if he turned out to be a beast!

Rest as many as our guys as…

Rest as many as our guys as possible for as long as possible while still winning the game comfortably.  Some of our guys looked beat up against Penn State, OL in particular.

Good post and analysis. …

Good post and analysis.  Harbaugh needs great assistants.  Let's hope he has them now.  The only way we can get to where we want to be as a program is to have players that are older and better coached then other schools.  I don't see us ever landing Top 3 recruiting classes.  We just have too many barriers with admissions that will not change under our current President.

The thing I'm most excited about in this class is that we have a STAR QB AND A STAR RB in the same class, that are both great program guys.  We need ELITE players with the ball in their hands every play on offense.  Early word from practice sounds like JJ and Edwards are safe bets to be stars in their sophomore and junior seasons.  Hart will maximize Edward's talent.  Let's hope our QB coaching is on point...

Phillips and Nolen would be…

Phillips and Nolen would be an incredible DT pair for this class.

We need to be 8-4, 9-3 this year and get some difference makers in this '22 class.

We need positive momentum and hype.

I think this staff is an elite recruiting staff, but they need some on-field momentum behind them to really flourish.

The transfer portal could…

The transfer portal could lead to our long-term demise as a program if admissions won't budge.

Bad mojo around the program…

Bad mojo around the program right now.  Recruiting will be affected.  Should've moved on from Jim after the 2020 debacle... we're only delaying the inevitable.

The program needs new life at the very top.

I interpret that as him…

I interpret that as him being excited to eventually wear the Michigan uniform and play for Michigan... and the time emoji saying time is ticking aka getting closer.  I don't see this being recruit-related.

Rivals insider saying its an…

Rivals insider saying its an offensive recruit.  I'm guessing Tyler Morris commits.

Agreed - would be awesome to get some recruiting momentum to bring into the June OV's.

We need some Top 100 players to join this class!

Great thorough write-up. …

Great thorough write-up.  Thanks Seth.  Sounds like this should be a good defensive recruiting class, which is obviously much needed.

Worthy news stings, but the staff is now set up for success on the recruiting trail.  We've got some great relationship builders and young guys that can reel in top talent.

Also, opening up visits will help us, as Michigan has a cooler campus then most, and the family atmosphere will get a chance to shine through.

We've got to get a lot of these guys locked up before the season starts, and get them tight-knit... especially if we're in for a rough 2021 season... as the rivals reports seem to suggest.

Yeah, let's spend more money…

Yeah, let's spend more money on the basketball team.  The Football investment hasn't paid off.  Strategic plan shift is in order.

Running game should be good…

Running game should be good.  The quarterback reports on Rivals are sobering.

Defense is a complete unknown... but likely lacks enough talent to be that good.

I think its just that Smith…

I think its just that Smith is more of a focus for defenses now that Livers is out in combination with the gravity of the moment that has caused some skittish play on his part.  I expect him to perform just fine against FSU; but if he doesn't, then perhaps we can dive into this theory more.
