The interior is fine - Kugler, Ruiz and Onwenu can handle it and Bredeson is a good 4th option if he doesn't win the RT role. Ruiz has far more upside than Cole at C and he would likely start at C if he were a soph. Cole was solid at C, but not outstanding.

didnt watch any of it but im pretty sure florida has had like a half dozen DBs drafted over the past 2-3 years (or at least they will after another 2-3 fairly early draft picks again this spring) - wouldnt be shocking if they are down a bit though, its tough for most any team to reload with that type talent / production every single year

They were just talking about the possibility of Malik Zaire coming to Florida, however remote. Zaire in this offense with some of the players they've got right now would make them....irritating, I would think. Yes, irritating is the word I'll stick with there.

Well I mean for a school like Florida they should probably be pushing top 5 every year. I mean look at all the top talent in Florida...this past class their top recruit was Tedderrel Slaton, who they pretty much got because Michigan passed on him. I think Franks looked solid. If he's their starter he could maybe be an issue with a new starter at practically every position on defense. I doubt this will be like the last encounter we had with the Gators

He is going to be really good, he has size, speed and a rocket arm. He reminded me a bit of Terrelle Pryor in his freshman year at OSU. If he does start, I am glad we are catching him in his first start and not 2 years later. Btw/ the other player I saw that night was Keith Gavin. He was the kick returner at FSU that got confused on that last kick and then ended up breaking it for 66 yards

They are not going to be pushing top five classes when they have been down for almost a decade. They are recruiting against Jimbo at FSU who has been absolutely killing it on the recruiting trail and now have to deal with Richt at Miami. We all have first hand experience with how Kirby Smart is recruiting at Georgia, and in the coming years they have to deal with Kiffin, Strong, and Butch Jones all in state. Florida produces a ton of talent, but the competition in state for that talent will be immense not even considering out of state raiding from the likes of Alabama, OSU, and now Michigan at IMG. It will definitely be a success if McElwain can pull top 10 classes with that kind of competition.

Sure, but Florida's the type of school where a good season or two immediately launches them right back towards the top of the pack down there in terms of recruiting. Florida is a destination job for a lot of coaches, a place where a coach has a shot at building a dynasty. They may be down right now, but they won't stay there.

give Mattison/Brown an added advantage?  Mattison went up against Nussmeier in practice for a year.

If FL doesn't get Zaire, they have a 1st year QB in his 1st game.  That's probably more important than all the UM first year starters.

on Franks and predicting this year's Florida offense "is going to be fun" and indicating he is the qb FL has been waiting on, I don't see Zaire transferring there.

I'll concede the point based simply on the bar being at about floor level now and give FL 17 pts against what will again be one of the nation's top defenses.  Think though, as a freshman, he'll make a couple of mistakes and Brown will bait him into throwing a couple picks which should be all we need.

30-17, as domination of the Gators continues.
