Coming off a national championship...now is the time when Urban will make his stand. Teach his lesson. Add another chapter to his book of tough love and discipline.

Semifinal versus Bama? HAHAHAHAHA. In the words of their former esteemed leader, Dr. Gordon Gee. "Let me be clear, I just hope the (player) doesn't dismiss me!"

Urban sets the culture of entitlement and makes it clear that your misdeeds will be covered up if you are one of his COT guys.

Elliott was driving recklessly with a suspended license.  This is not a guy that is worried about the consequences of his actions like regular people are.  Urbz has his back.

His "suspended liense" stemmed from a May traffic stop for doing 59 in a 55.  He then apparently fought the ticket and was given until December 1st to pay a $132 fine.  He didn't pay and then his licence was suspended.

Much ado about nothing.

Maybe he didn't pay because he didn't give a shit if his license got suspended because, you know, Urban. He basically told the press that the coaches lost a game because they didn't give him the ball and got a stern "yeah, he was right but I talked to him privately about calling me a bitch to the press" from good ol urbz. Circle of trust for the win!

He forgot to pay it... like a normal human being that forgets thing. I consistently forgot to pay bills throughout undergrad and it wasn't until my credit score started to matter did I start making a point to regularly check all my accounts.

How fast do you think he was really going?

It doesn't really matter.  He didn't have a valid license.  He shouldn't have been behind the wheel of a car.  That's not a minor thing, even if it's not as major as, say, DUI.

Driving while drunk > driving under suspension.

There was a crash, however, so property damage was involved. IMHO, Anyone making this into a big thing is being a homer.

However, I do want to know why his license was suspended intitially....

Looks like Pope Urban is trying to recreate his outlaw program developed in FL in Columbus. All he needs is the next Aaron Hernandez to bring the Buckeyes full circle.  I just looked up Scumbag and all they had was a picture of Pope Urban.

is a more serious ..Theres a reason he isnt supposed to drive....driving anyways is reckless and viewed by the court as more serious than a speeding ticket....and a violation of whatever agreement was made for whatever got in him trouble in the first place

NOT because he's a risk to society, if driving.  I'm not saying a person should be driving, if their license is suspended, but a "premeditated decision (fixed those for you) to break the law"?

Come on, give me a break.  You probably drive 70 mph in the left lane on the highway, enforcing the speed limit for all of those wishing to drive 75-80...and think you are doing a good thing.

Thankfully no one was hurt, but still, how stupid do you have to be to pull something like this on the eve of traveling for a major bowl game?

You're a few months away from going to the NFL and making millions of dollars. Just have someone drive you. Why do anything that's going to cause NFL teams to raise eyebrows with you? Hell, you're Ezekiel Elliott. Most of the student body at OSU would drop what they're doing at a moments notice to drive you, for free, wherever you needed to go.

I had my license suspended twice when I was about his age.  I had a total of 14 points, all of them for speeding, at one time.  Now I only speed on the expressway where I'm less likely to get caught.

When my license was suspended (a month each time IIRC), I drove anyway.  Had to get to work and class somehow.

So since I've done the same thing, sans crash, I'm going to say that it's not that big of a deal.  Although I'm surprised that these OSU players don't have drivers.

Just our luck...

Game 11 - MSU - OC forgets Elliot is in backfield, decides to make Barret the feature back in crappy weather game and loses to MSU

Game 12 - U of M - Elliot is featured heavily - vowed to showed OC what he was missing against MSU and Ohio State wins big in AA.

Game 13 - Elliot will prolly be suspended and not play

Edit: or not according to the post above mine.

Still fuck him and fuck OSU.

a Gobucks703 came up with this:

I would guess the Suspension is from failure to pay for the speeding ticket he received in August. Looking on the FCMC website his ticket was referred to collection and his registration was blocked on 12/3/15.

Stupid piled on top of reckless, but my guess is he'll play in the bowl game.  Go Asteroid!

Urban will wrap his arms around Elliott, pat him on the head a few times, and tell him we all make mistakes in life. They'll shed a few tears together, grin at each other and move on. Lose control of your vehicle and cause an accident, all while you shouldn't even be driving. No big deal really. OSU football > the law.

He'll be going pro regardless. OSU will suspend him for a half or something and claim he learned his lesson. That or they will say that they want the legal process to play out.

Doesn't driving on a suspended license typically = jail time (or at least requires you to go to jail) after you've been cited? Swear it does her in Michigan.
