the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

Best response I've seen on this board. Great. |

Just stating a fact. I didn't say it in the above post but I wish the NCAA would mandate honoring scholarships for the 4 years. However all things being equal Michigan would be more competitive and its team depth would be better. Can't get around that. |
| 1 week 1 day ago | The SEC is very good |
And all the other conferences would be better and more competitive if they did the one year scholarship renewal program like the SEC does. Because the Big Ten offers 4 year full rides they are stuck with players that don't pan out. I would love to see Michigan sign 22 to 24 extra guys every four years. Look at the depth you would create. |

Why are we giving this topic so much discussion time. After what they did to the basketball program all I want to hear from them is a "I'm sorry". If I don't hear that I don't want to hear anything from them. People can glorify the Fab Five all they want and four of those players deserve every accolade they can get. But Webber? No way. Same for Taylor and Bullock. They ruined this program for years and I will be damned if I am going to open my arms to them. I paid too much in season tickets to watch horrible basketball for me to forgive these guys. Now we have moved on to bigger and better things I would just as well forget them. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Met Howe and Lindsay |
at the site of the old Olympia Arena. They had just built a National Guard facility on the property and had a dedication ceremony with a plaque. I was with the Michigan State Police and represented the department at the program. Afterwards there was a small luncheon and I was sitting alone when Howe and Lindsay came over and asked if they could eat with me. Geordie Howe looked like he could still play and that was in early 90's.. They were so down to earth and Ted Lindsay looked like he had 1000 stitches in his face. That's probably close. Lol. Great players and great gentlemen. |

I still don't understand the point stuff. I've posted on this site for three years and still don't have enough points to start a thread. I post from my phone never from a computer so maybe that's the reason. However, you are right about posters. They don't tolerate anything but positive blue even if your not even bring negative. Just question something and you get bombed. |

I can tell you from a parents perspective that basketball is a game that takes years of work at an early age to even become a solid high school player. My son went to at least two different basketball camps every year. He also played in middle school and played on AAU teams. One perspective that I noticed early on was how Chris loved the game and wanted to play. The passion he showed early on made it easy to move him forward. |
| 5 weeks 1 day ago | I've been around this team |
for a long time. My son just turned 18 and he participated in the last 11 Michigan BB Player Development Camps and this years Elite Camp. He got to know the players very well because most of them worked the camp. He especially became very close to Eso Akunne. But all the rest were very nice to him and my family. It was especially nice this year when the team scrimmaged for the camp participants. They were short one player and they asked my son to scrimmage with them for 20 minutes. At 6-7 and 190 he was as thrilled as the first camp we attended when he was 7 years old. The bottom line is the players on this team are great people. At games we attended they would always acknowledge us during warmups or afterward. They all took time to share a bit of themselves even though they were tired and wanted to get out of the arena. This team gave us lasting memories that go way beyond the Final Four. Thanks to all of them for being good citizens. Thanks to Eso for letting Chris beat him in one on one four years ago, then for taking a big ribbing from Tim Hardaway and Trey Burke when Chris really beat him this year. Lol. The memories will last forever for my family when it comes to this team. I can believe Josh when he says how close they are. They got close to a lot of people, if they knew it or not, by being themselves. |

"Are you a Character? Or do you have character." This Michigan team had plenty of character. They took everybody's best shot. They showed their youth at times but overall they played every game with passion and grit. They battled and fought through a conference ending losing streak and a disappointing Big Ten Tournament to pick up the pieces and make a fantastic run in the NCAA Tournament. I am so proud to be a Michigan fan and season ticket holder. Go Blue!!! |
| 7 weeks 11 hours ago | He is playing with great confidence |
And Burke is getting the ball to him and still scoring a bunch himself. The new Michigan inside/outside game. Gotta love it. |
| 7 weeks 11 hours ago | All I can say is |
Kansas! Your not in Kansas anymore. Go Blue!! |
| 8 weeks 5 days ago | Michigan just needs to play |
BASKETBALL. Who cares who they play. If they play well enough they will win. If they screw around and not share the ball and stand around waiting for Burke to do something they will lose. You have to play good teams throughout the tournament. There are no easy matchups. Be ready. Play hard. Win. Don't do that and you'll go home. |
| 9 weeks 4 days ago | The loss hurts |
but there is no excuse for Crean acting the way he did. Verbally attacking another coach for something that happened years ago. Get a life. Crean is an ass. He was a pompous ass before this game and he was a pompous ass after the game. All his strutting up and down the sidelines is way too Napolionic for me. Just another pompous ass like Bobby Knight at the University of Indiana. |
| 11 weeks 15 hours ago | He is not terrible |
He started the first 4 or 5 games of the season and the Stauskas took over as the starter. His confidence is probably shot and he may need another start to get it back. But he is far from terrible. He is a roster player on a top ten team in the Big Ten. Give him a break. |
| 11 weeks 5 days ago | I spoke to Sam Webb |
at the Michigan/Illinois game this afternoon. When I asked him about a commitment coming he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders. Couldn't tell anything from that but he was headed down to talk with the football recruits that were at the game. Hood had a great visit. He's the 5* RB who stated yesterday that he had a great time and that Michigan was tremendous. Said he was so excited he had to go home and settle down and think about the visit. |
| 12 weeks 2 days ago | I asked that same question. |
The NCAA is not investigating criminal activity and they do not fall under the rules of criminal law. If anything their rules are more like a civil court and the is vast leniency in the civil process. Hear say is allowed along with innuendo. I do not believe that all the evidence against Miami is or should be tainted even if it was ill gotten evidence. Different rules for NCAA vs courts of law. Don't get the two confused. Also consider that most penalties are agreed upon by the school committing violations. Thus an agreement takes precedent over everything. Somewhat like a plea bargain. When schools enter into the agreement they give up most rights of rebuttal. |
| 12 weeks 4 days ago | Are you |
Tom "The Whiner" Crean. Between Crean, Izzo, Illinois' coach and PSU's coach I can't remember having so many whiners in the Big Ten before. |
| 12 weeks 5 days ago | Or |
physicality. To use the new word on the block. |
| 12 weeks 5 days ago | I talked to a couple of players |
before the game. They seemed tired and not very energetic. I know these guys well so this isn't something I am use to seeing. The team in general looks like the are tired. When you watch the offense there is a lot of standing around on the perimeter while Burke figures out the defense. Today the pick and roll was totally absent thus no scoring from the Bigs. On the other side PSU ran the pick and roll effectively a day and seemed to score at will with it. |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | If Marshall commits to Michigan |
Brady Hoke got the "Snake Oil". |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | That won't happen!! |
As much as I would like to see an early signing period ESPN would have a fit and the NCAA would listen. ESPN would lose ratings on NSD and it boils down to money. But I would love an early signing period. Take the pressure of coaches and athletes. They do it for basketball and coaches are only looking at 2, 3 or 4 guys. Football coaches are looking at 20, 25, 30 or more. |
| 13 weeks 2 days ago | Hoke's got |
Snake Oil if this happens for Michigan. GoBlue! |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | Jay Paterno is ruining |
what is left of the Joe Paterno legacy. None of these reports are official enough to be used in a court of law. They are filled with here say and innuendo. But what they do show is a trail of knowledge and knowing by the Penn State officials including Joe Paterno. |
| 13 weeks 4 days ago | And Penn State agreed |
to all the sanctions. If they would not have agreed the public outcry would have been overwhelming. Penn State knew this and agreed to terms. Right wrong or indifferent, Penn State realized they in part were responsible in some way for what had happened. It may not have been a NCAA rules violation in the sense we are use to seeing but Penn State knew they had to do something to change public opinion. So the offered up the football program since that is the doorstep on which this tragedy occurred. All parties agreed so what's the problem. |
