Women's Hoops Beats Baylor Again, Wins Tournament

Michigan women were playing in the Gulf Coast Showcase tournament over the weekend.  Got Baylor in the final after a comeback win over USF (thanks to Maddie Nolan).

The big story early in this season though is that without Naz Emily Kiser has made her second major leap in as many years.  Last year she was a nice second post and a great defender but wasn't going to wow you with her scoring.  26 and 13 against Baylor without coming off the floor at all.  Averaging 20 and 8 so far on the young season.  Could have been considered a competition thing until tonight.

Phelia's also close to 20 a game.

What's really interesting is that Leigha Brown is not herself yet.  When she gets going they'll have three scorers with a couple three point shooters and nice bench pieces around them.  KBA can coach y'all.

You have to appreciate Emily Kiser.  She didn’t get significant playing time until last year.  She stuck with the program, worked very hard and now benefits from all the effort.  She is a great quiet leader and is having a fantastic start to the season.
