Elite 8 games thread?
Already some pretty amazing moments...
Doesn't matter if it counts or not, this is unreal! #marchmadness #Xavier pic.twitter.com/UH9L75WVky

Xavier needs to light a fire, as they are down by 10.
Gonzaga is impressing me. I thought they were a pretender but I was wrong about them.
Has any team had an easier bracket than Gonzaga? Maybe Florida?
I don't think anyone ever considers Wisconsin an easy route. Ask the defending National Champs.
UNC and Kansas don't particularly have difficult paths compared to Florida. Also I'd guess Gonzaga didn't think NW nor West Virginia were easy targets...they dismantled a WV team that many wouldn't. They might just be a really good squad.
and also fuck kenpom.

This is the best and most complete Zags team ever. Great guard play with experience and there bigs are interchangeable. They can go big against a team that has guys like Haas or they can go at a team like Michigan with athletic bigs. Now that I seen Oregon beat Kansas dam that could and should of been us. But Bell once again showed me why Michigan needs to recruit big guys like that. He changed the game on both ends 2 games in a row.
Well, Trevon Bluiett sort of Bluiett there on the TO.
I will show myself out now.
Maybe?
Gonzaga has been missing their offense since the tournament started, good to see it has returned.
Michigan would beat either of these teams.
Not sure we'd have outshot them tonight...which we of course would have needed to do. We also don't play defense, similar to Xavier though, now that I think about it. But no, we likely don't beat the Zags tonight. Maybe, yes, it's a bit of a homer thought, though.
Gonzaga entered the tournament as the only team in the country ranked in the top 20 in KenPom's adjusted offense and defense rankings. They're really good, and their size would give Michigan all sorts of fits.
size is the one thing we'd be able to exploit. Karnowski would be like the Purdue bigs or the Louisville trying to stay with Wagner. The idea that we struggle with tall teams is completely false.
We struggled more with smaller but athletic big men, like those on Minnesota, Oregon, OSU (both).
We would have feasted on Gonzaga lumbering big men.
Done with college basketball. I am now moving into baseball mode. Have opening day tickets and am counting down the days.
a Xavier dude rebounded the ball so hard that it bounced off the floor and in. Such a weird ten second sequence of the game.
Gonzaga pulling away now, though
Everyone has off games. You just got to win them.
Has no eyebrows.
Also, not sure if he is more Kevin bacon or Ethan hawk
and yeah, wtf, no eyebrows!
Jesus he might talk more than Dakich. STFU Webber
Paid by the syllable
He's not good at his job. Like, tragically bad.

He's annoying because you don't like him. He's one of the best in the business actually

Not true... False.
Few and the Zags finally did it. Good for them!
Can't spell U Choke without KU, however, I'm still waiting for it.
They played a complete game tonight.
Michigan is about to take on---and beat---Kansas.
Sigh...
in another parallel universe somewhere, Michigan is about to win their 100th national championship in a row.
but since M isn't in it anymore, I don't.
Pretty pumped for more Reggie Miller.
Ugh if Oregon wore green jerseys instead of their maize look-a-likes in our game, we probably don't turn the ball over as much. Thanks Phil Knight.
/s
I guess I'm going to root for Oregon. Make our loss look better.
Is it too early to say that?
and reggie miller is pam ward in pants, or maybe not because she's probably wearing pants too.
Props to Mark Few. His first year on staff at Gonzaga the team won 4 divsion one games. The program has come a long way to making the Final Four.
We need Bell to teach Dj Wilson how to finish at the rim aka dunk.
Its unbelievable how soft Wilson can't be at times under the rim.
DJ definitely needs to be thinking dunk first.
like the dunk he missed against us?
Go back and watch the BTT championship game and take a look at DJs finishes. He missed a wide open layup against Oregon. It happens once in 50 times to the best of them. He shot 63 percent on twos on the year, third in the big ten, while still having a midrange game. Any complaints about his finishing is a tired trope.
All about Kansas. Hardly acknowledge the great Oregon plays. Awful.
maybe we didn't want to advance after all.
minnesota. i remember.
Oregon is looking legit - great defense.
So is Purdue just that awful or is TV Teddy controlling this game?
you must have eyesight like TV ted.

I think he means that against Purdue, Kansas looked like the best team in the tourney. Now they are struggling against Oregon.

They do this all the time. They look unstoppable, then choke sometime in the tournament before the Final Four.
Granted, Oregon is very good, but you can't tell me they've got more talent than KU.
There I said it. And it's probably true. Brooks, Dorsey and Bell are better than Graham, Mason and Jackson (at least, certainly at this point in Jackson's career).
Michigan needs a player like Jordan Bell.
