as a reporter, they have to ask RR that question or they're doing a shitty job. They have to when we had a Feagin dismissed for drug-related charges and you're doing a story about a stud athlete with a potentially checkered past.
That being said, one of the big issues with this is that he keeps saying he was acquitted. From what I've been reading, he was not acquitted; the charges were dropped.
A good reporter would ask that question to RR, but a good reporter would also find out what the hell the charges were for themselves before questioning the coach about it.

While he may have remarked he is incredulous as to the legitimacy of a 'fair trial' for a prep athlete, this is not court-worthy material. He would have had to say explicitly graphic accusations for this to be a 'credible lawsuit.'
