Donovan Peoples-Jones Catch-All Thread

Submitted by LKLIII on

With DPJ making his big announcement tonight at 8:30pm on ESPN2, I'm going to pre-emptively assume there will be some DPJ buzz & discussion before then.  This thread is to create a home for all of that prior to the announcement.  I assume closer to the announcement, somebody will create a thread specifically for the announcement itself, hopefully with a "Hello" thread to quickly follow..

I'll get the ball rolling--Lorenz tweets out this morning that they are still confident DPJ is still Blue.

Thinking about starting a catch-all thread for my son who is a 5* and by 5* I mean 5 years old but I am sure he will commit to Michigan in about 13 years.  Just thought I would get a little jump on it so people had time to comment.

we need a thread karma balancer here , so I'm predicting:

DPJ announces for MSU tonight.

Then switches to OSU on signing day.

That's the Michigan Dong-Punch we all know & love.

Is there even a credible doubt that he isn't? Normally recruits who spend their last OV recruiting for Michigan don't decide to go to Ohio State or FSU 4 days later. The chances of DPJ going anywhere but Michigan are about as good as my chances of eating dinner with Bill Murray tonight.

No.

Presently he is urinating in the 2nd floor boys restroom. He's about to stop by the vending machine for some BBQ Fritos and then head to his Poetry class, where he'll sit in the first row, second seat from the left.

Then he'll eat the Fritos, belch, and blow the Frito breath into the face of Donovan Johnson. Then he'll whisper into Johnson's ear:

"49-10, bitch."

He'll sit there with his bookbag on, wearing his khakis, and learn about Sir Andrew Barton.

"consistently says such complete nonsense" You just answered your own question. ESPN is only concerned with click bait, so to speak. They only want controversy to draw attention to them. I mean, why else would they hire the dipshits they do? Danny Kanell, Joey Galloway, Pawwwwwl Finebaum, formerly guys like Skip Bayless, Jason Whitlock, etc.

I'm old enough to remember when ESPN was not a joke, thanks for making me realize I'm almost 40.

All you gotta look at for confirmation is how FS1 markets Undisputed. Its like First Take on steroids. They are just trying to do trolling hot take after trolling hot take to get viewers. It's embarassing. ESPN takes the same tactic but isn't desperate for viewers as much as FS1 is

I keep thinking about Peters and McCaffrey throwing the ball around to DPJ, Black, and Collins with some Wheatley and Asiasi action in there.  And of course Evans and Harris running the ball up and down the field.

Will we have the O-line though to get the job done?  That's my real hope.  A classic Harbaugh / Drevno O-line.

Yes. We will have the O-line to get the job done. Ruiz is a lock and Wilson is likely. Those are just two pieces but never underestimate the value of having the best center. Ask Alabama. Jones and Kelly were both very good college centers. We're about to get a good one too in Ruiz. Add pieces like that to some already good lineman to push them through competition and you will have the makings of a damn good line going forward. Whoever makes it out of these Michigan-Ohio State battles over the next four or five years will have a shot at a national championship each year. Going to be fun.

Thanks for posting this.

I kind of got lazy with the Tarik Black threads yesterday, so hopefully this thread will stand for all the different thoughts and hot takes on this particular recruit.

Well, the Tarik Black video threads were left because the feed for the livestream had issues but it seems like it was resolved. Either way, we'll try to keep information in here if possible.
