This was inevitable and it is better to happen now than in February. The key here is getting Brandon and Hoke as far away from Ann Arbor as possible, fill the vacancies with competent people this time, let them do their thing.

Buckle up ? Seriously, nothing short of financial harm (eg attendance drop,. boycott) will cause Hoke or Brandon to lose their job.  I dont think Brandon and above really care about individual recruits, only the botom line at the end of the budget year.

Honestly, if we realy want to get this fixed, recruits should be the absolute last thing on anybody's mind right now. We shouldn't expect ANY of these kids to stay. If they do, they should be greeted with blowjobs from the finest of cambodian immigrants immediately upon arrival on campus.

On another, but related note, seeing Shane Morris getting this type of press on ESPN (for all the wrong reasons) took me back to his recruiting process. Remember how much hope there was when he was coming in? How much of an ambassador he was trying to be for the program & the efforts he made to bring in that class? That shit seems like a decade ago...and it also should be a reminder to us about how much less hype we should give these kids before they actually accomplish anything.

Can we just do these decommits once a month instead of as they happen ? I feel an avalanche a comin' and I only want to be buried and dig out once. (Assumes fetal position next to bottle of Blanton's Bourbon.). Bourbon will also help my back, since I was rearended on my way to work and went to the ER. Ugh. These past 3 days have been painful on many a level.

Objectively, unless a player is committed to the U of M itself and not to a specific coach(es) we might as well consider 95% of the recruiting as gone.  I don't see why its a big issue.  Everyone's demanding a coach's head on a platter = consider recruiting flushed until a new HC can start his own recruiting.  Recruits are fickle until they are institutionalized.  Approximately 2 years' classes should be considered vanished at this point as the majority of guys going to sign Feb 15 are going to fly and there will be no chance for a new coach to sign anyone meaningful until Feb 16.  That class will likely be cautionary depending on who is hired with what perception.  Not saying there won't be athletes on scholarship as there will be as sure as the sun rises.  But we will compete with Purdue and Illinois and Northwestern for recruits.  Amazing how fast things work in the 21st century!
