To be fair, of course, three of the four tackles he has recorded in his time at Michigan have been solo tackles, so now and again he does get to bring out the LB skills to  certain extent.

Actually, I had to chuckle at his description of what practices are like for him. Even if it does involve some down time as he mentioned, the work he puts in is no less important to the team's success, I would say.

I have been getting sick of the same old "compete ...teammates.... togetherness.... toughness...compete" speak. Nice to get something different in there.

I met Wile at the Women's Football Academy. Super nice guy. He was in jeans because he came straight from his landscaping job or something like that, but he didn't let his clothes hold him back from doing drills with us! I have so even more respect for kickers after that experience. Best of luck on a great season to him!

He's been practicing making sure when he strikes the ball it makes enough noise for Hoke to hear it.

I like that he feels comfortable with anything inside of 58 yards. Let's hope that isn't needed.

inside our 20 with a few ticks on the clock right before half.  Devin to Devin to get it to the opponent's 45. 0:02 left as we use our last time out. Wile trots in. Confidently bangs one through for a bonus three spot going into the locker room.  Much celebration ensues.  High fives in bars across the land, encouraging more than handful of young men to finally get up the nerve to ask that really cute girl out.  Sarah, Emily, Tricia.  They go by different names, all equally charming.  Each of these beauties says yes, of course, ensuring the dream state that Wile's end over end bomb produced will endure until the agreed upon night.  Meanwhile, kids ask their parents, "Hey, we haven't been to Disney since we were four. Can we go for spring break this year?" and in their euphoria, parents say, "That's a great idea. Where's the iPad. We'll book the hotel now."  And at my house, as she gets up and walks away, my wife winks in a way that says we've enough time before second half kick off, don't we? And then she disappears behind a door to the other room, leaving it slightly ajar.

I, for one, hope that 58 yard leg is needed.

Like goalies, kickers are a "unique" breed of people. Lots of pressure on the guys. Be strong. Mentally strong. We will need you this year.

about how good the linebackers can be, but throw Wile into th mix, and we have some serious depth.
