Huge net outflow of taxes…

Huge net outflow of taxes from Chicago / suburbs to subsidize the rest of the state. South / West Illinois are huge leeches of our Chicago taxes.  Property taxes are rough, but for anyone making over $200k, you’re far happier with the 5% income tax. NY gets boned on both ends.

If you all can find anything…

If you all can find anything in Bardstown Bourbon's Origins series, they're all incredible.  Racking up a bunch of awards and really well priced.

WUT

Per RCMB: “You are…

Per RCMB: “You are delusional if you deny that Michigan isn’t a very good team right now. They have jail sexed Ohio State two years in a row.”

I suspect that the B1G's…

I suspect that the B1G's record vs. the SEC in the CFP has a role in this.  Except for Clemson, every other school in every conference gets bushwhacked by the SEC every year in the playoffs. Down slate bowls are different, but we're talking about the Alabama effect with the LSU comparison. OSU won playoff games in 2020 and 2014, so they get a bit of favoritism.  Other than that, we're 0-fer.

It’s the peach bowl against…

It’s the peach bowl against a random opponent we’ve already played twice while these guys have been here. If we were actually playing for something other than fan vacations and advertiser money that the players get no part of, I’d get some of your outrage.

Beat Ohio state and nobody would be sitting out.

#1 defense in all the land. …

#1 defense in all the land.  Nothing can go wrong.

These weak ass chokers…

These weak ass chokers. Players are weak running their mouths against an overrated B1G then melt in their 2 real games. Coaches are stuck in the damn 1990s. Do they not watch how the rest of the offensive world has passed them by?

For how much this OL has…

For how much this OL has progressed, this DL has really regressed. Gary top 10 in the draft? Give me a break.

You're drunk Zach.  Go to…

You're drunk Zach.  Go to bed.

While really hard to project…

While really hard to project out of high school since OGs and OTs often add or lose a mid-sized teenager in weight from the camp circuit to the college playing field, I'd say this is nearly all coaching.  In the last 10 recruiting cycles, Wisconsin has landed 2 top 10 OGs and 0 top ten OTs.  I know that the recruiting world doesnt frequent Pickett, WI dairy farms, but this says something.

In what world do we beat…

In what world do we beat Sparty? We haven’t won a road game against a ranked team since 2006. The only time we’ve beaten sparty in recent memory is when we were 5x better and still didn’t win very comfortably.

You sound like a certain…

You sound like a certain resident of Washington DC. Just make an ad hominem on anyone who says something true and negative about something you like.

It’s been 12 years dude…

It’s been 12 years dude. This blind faith thing needs to go away.

He’s not the coach we hired…

He’s not the coach we hired. We’re paying the guy that got his STANFORD 2 stars to play with such a chip that they upset USC in their heyday. Not whatever the hell this is who can’t get his players up for a big game in 3+ seasons.

To me, this game was as eye opening as the Akron/UConn games where the curtain got pulled down on something very very wrong with the culture / coaching of the program. Just more of the same.

It’s not necessarily this…

It’s not necessarily this one game. It’s seeing an OL that is still a complete dumpster fire in pass protection, an offense that still has no flow or complexity, a team that still shits the bed with mistakes on the road, and a team that had this many returners after getting embarrassed this year come out completely uninspired relative to the competition. We haven’t won a road game against a ranked opponent since 2006. This whole thing runs way deeper that 2 plays.

We should not have won that…

We should not have won that game. We haven’t won a road game against a ranked team since 2006. There is no should.

We’ve had 0 respectable…

We’ve had 0 respectable offensive lines since Molk left. What a steaming pile of crap those tackles are. They’ve had 4 years to figure out how to block a spin move and they look like helpless freshmen. Watch out for every offense pinning their ears back and lighting us up again.

Self selecting a lot of soft…

Self selecting a lot of soft ass entitled players who want to go dick around in Rome and Paris while other teams are grinding.

Peters is gutless

Could’ve run for that first down and slid. Shows no emotion, no swagger, and the offense takes on his personality. Next year is going to be every bit as frustrating if we don’t get a qb with some balls.

Don’t sleep on Spanellis

He’s going to be a monster RT next year. If things don’t workout with Newsome/recruits, he could be the LT. The guy plays with a chip on his shoulder and has had to earn every ounce of playing time over more highly recruited guys. He may not be a 4 star, but neither are most / all of Wisco’s monsters. I’m starting to sense that a lot of these guys coming in with 4 stars, Army all American praise, espn commitment shows, trips to Rome, “greatest program in history,” etc crap don’t play with edges. We need more Glasgows and Spanellises (Spanelli?).

Go to Rome

Keep spoiling these soft children on alumni / our dime for them to play / coach like incompetent assholes.

Chaos

Is a ladder.

Soft

Not sure what it is (maybe playing 8 straight home games then Rutgers), but this team couldn't close for shit outside of the big house. Even the MSU game was an underachieving performance. I sure hope this is rooted in Hoke'a awfulness and lack of edge in developing the upperclassmen. Good riddance to that OL as well.

He's just a blip....

If he doesn't come back (which he shouldn't IMO), he's just a blip on michigan's radar. Never beat OSU, played 2 seasons, and never played in a bowl game. Crazy talented and glad he was here, but he was basically the football version of a one and done.

Aggregate

You have to take it in the aggregate. Sure, if one guy deserted post and didn't participate in D-Day, nothing would've changed. Doesn't mean that he wasn't fighting for our freedom by running up that beach. The point is that if 100% of the US population was like us non-vets and elected to never do anything related to national defense, world peace-keeping, etc., 0% of us would be able to have the luxury of our greatest angst of November come via The Game. Best case scenario, it would probably be some sort of soccer crap....and nobody wants that.

Also, by them volunteering, the rest of us have more freedom by not being subject to mandatory service or the draft.

Not too bad.

Video = Harbaugh golf swing at previous Pebble Beach Pro Am.

Manball

Is he going to demand that the offense runs power at practice so his defense can play "tough?"

Glass house stone throwing....

Given the past few years with Frank Clark, LTT, and especially how the program handled Gibbons, maybe we shouldn't approach opponent suspensions like we have a program 100% full of Gerald Ford-like scholars and gentlemen.

Oversigning.....

I think Hoke's recruiting prowess v. performance shows that bringing in the talent isn't quite the whole battle. Big fast 18 year olds don't roll out of bed and play perfect disciplined defense.

"We just didn't execute."

A nostalgic chill went down my spine reading that in the first sentence....

Linebackers

Is it just me or do our linebackers look like they're playing in sand? Bolden is nauseatingly slow. Guy does not belong in a game with this speed.

Agreed....

The Game was always at noon because that's when football games were played.  Things have changed with the rise of television and overall interest. If it so happened that they played most games during the Yost Era at 8 AM, I certainly wouldn't advocate for that based on "tradition."

Shutting up?

Given that we do not play in the actual football games, "we" will not be beating Indiana, PSU, etc., so all we can do is talk about stuff.  Therefore, shutting up would leave this board a little silent.

Unpopular, but needs to be said....

I'm sorry guys, but I don't blame the media for counting Meyer's first 50 games and not Yost's. Maybe they should have qualified it by saying "Since 1940" or something, but when a massive chunk of your "games," such as Yost's are literally you getting together and teaching other schools the game of football, I'm going to find that far less impressive and am not going to get my panties in a bunch when a writer discusses something amazing that Urbz has done.

Yost undoubtedly had a far far bigger impact on the game of football than Urbz since he was one of the original pioneers, but for purposes of "Wins and Losses," what Urban has done since his arrival is pretty special.

Not terribly interested....

At some point, we want a multi year starter. Even if a team is 10% better one year with a senior QB, the program is better off with the multi-year starter.  Andrew Luck wouldnt have been nearly as good his junior year if Stanford was rolling out one year grad transfers every season before him b/c they were slightly more productive.

Snaps...

The thing I've noticed most this season is how both of our lines really explode off the snap.  It makes sense that the OL would get a split second head start since it knows the snap count, but it seems like both lines are really solid at taking their first explosive step before the other line even flinches.

Spit water...

After seeing the GIF rotation feature A. Chair.  Well done sir.

Defense...

The defense had given up SEVEN points at the time of that play. Haha please.

Seriously dude...

Unless you're paying for some sort of subscription (which you're not) or having to glance past an extra thread is a day ruiner for those of us in society (not so much), grow up.  You're like one of those assbags that thumps his chest in the USAToday comments section because a journalist providing free content misspelled a word.

Cool. Thanks. I'll post there.

You guys seriously need to get some lives.  Damn.

If there is...thanks.

Although, actually getting to watch the game with some audio is more important to me than adding a line to your screen that you feel obligated to click on, read, then spend 15 seconds writing a post.  Grow up dude.

Awkwardly tugs collar......

Cracker Jack Analytic

Over/Under: There are currently 12.5 MGoBloggers currently running that cracker jack analytic.

Seriously guys....

This old guy annoyace thing with the students is a little absurd.

Aside from the whole squishing / students are skinnier and standing thing that can waaaaaaay more than account for 10% of the student rows being empty, the team hasn't been very good at all since most of these undergrads were in high school.  If we take away that one blip in 2011, the team hasnt been good since most of these kids were in middle school. I bet you that for random preseason games in 1967, there may have been an empty row or two across the top of the big house.

Phelps.....

I loved it, except for the fact that we keep trying to claim Michael Phelps.  He had zero to do with the university except that we brought his coach here, he took a couple of one-off classes not in pursuit of a degree, and hung out at the Jug.

Really grasping there.

You're drunk.

Go to bed.

Coachspeak

Just like when Hoke first started out / was winning, it was cute.  If they want to totally shut out those that pay their salaries and for the players' facilities, then so be it. But they better win.

Countdown to Kickoff....

Those always intrigued me.  I would look forward to them each morning, would watch with disappointment as each guy said the same annoying thing "meh meh compete hebeddah shebeddah toughness blah blah for the seniors", then somehow or another repeat this cycle 30 times.

The submarine prevents such roller coaster of emotion, so I'm good with it.

Budding romance....

I'm pretty sure I've had text convos similar to this one with prospective GFs. Just throw an additional word in front of "job."

"We’re getting excited about this, aren’t we?"

“Yes we are,” Hackett said.

“You didn’t offer me the job, did you?” Harbaugh asked.

“No, I haven’t.”

“I didn’t accept, did I?”

“No, you didn’t.”
