The NCAA is clearly in the wrong in this.

Every Michigan fan should point this out as much as possible. Too many people buy NCAA propaganda that the NCAA has a moral high ground of bringing in billions of revenue while restricting players from cash compensation, many of those players come from poverty and will never go pro.

Attorneys for the NCAA and the conferences had written in legal filings that the athletes are seeking more than $1.4 billion. The filings did not specify whether that figure takes into account the tripling of damages awards that occurs in successful antitrust cases. If it does not, then more than $4.2 billion could be at stake in the case.

1.4 billion divided by 7000 is $200K. Triple it to $600K. Now see it shrink in settlement talks to $300k…and lawyers fees take it down to $150k…and carve out some for the other 8000 and it’s probably $100k each, paid out three years from now…NPV of say $85k?  Don’t the real typical numbers here, but class suits never seem to end up as good as they first sound.
