No way in hell Hoke wrote any of that--it is far too articulate for his feeble mind.
I wouldnt infer any of Hoke's intentions from that released document.

I support this effort in principle.
However, examine this document below from 2011-2012 concerning the revenues generated by events at Michigan Stadium.
Unless you are making a dent in the admissions number (~38% of revenue) then I am not sure how a delayed admission into the stadium affects DB other than being an embarrasing blip on his radar.
I was erroneously under the impression that a concession boycott could have some effect for those that are already committed to going to the stadium--but they are only about 2.5% of the revenue.
Anyway, I do like the idea proposed by the students, I just think it is important to think in terms of broader effects on the bottom line as detailed in the document attached as the only real way to get the administration's attention.

Also think he is gone at the end of the season.
However, I think it will be telegraphed well before then that Brandon WILL NOT be in charge of the next hire (meaning he will be gone as well).
|16 weeks 7 hours ago||Careful, now. Way back in||
Way back in the crazy days and late nights of the first coaching search after Carr, I calculated (and posted here) that Texas could overtake us in about 25 years in this category at the win/loss rates each program had at the time. Fortunately for Michigan since then, TX has had (and continues to have) some issues winning games--so the status quo still holds.
I take the all-time win stat VERY SERIOUSLY as something not be messed with. However, it is within reach by others if we keep this shit up.
Sure, the game and the pride we have in the program is about more than this statistic--but if the day comes when we longer have even this to hold on to, what then? That is your bottom, IMHO.
Fortunately, we are nowhere near that and I do remain confident the next coach gets us back to a familiar place.

coupled with the fact that Rutgers has displayed excellent abilities in blocking all sorts of kicks in the past couple of years (Brandy and Dierdorf rattled off some pretty impressive stats to this extent as foreshadowing shortly before the ill-fated kick, none of which I remember--doesnt really matter anyway)

Suppose for a moment the the Big House looks like Penn St. West next Sat night due to a near complete takeover by rabid Penn St. fans stil upset by what we did to them (repeatedly) during Carr's tenure.
Will it even matter?
I mean, revenue is revenue, right? And who cares who is buying the refreshments as long as they are being sold? Bottom line is that it's the bottom line, right?
Is it embarrassing that the stadiums is filled with visitors instead of the home team fans? Yes. Bad for business? No.
Dave Brandon = Jerry Jones.
Sorry to be so cynical, but I really think this is how Brandon's brain operates.
|16 weeks 9 hours ago||i thought this was a thread||
i thought this was a thread about how the future of Michigan football was screwed once the Hoke hire was announced.
Seriously, crappy calls have gone our way a time or two as well. The team should never put themselves in this position to have a bad call decide a game like this. Clearly, the coaches do not know how best to utilize the talent we have. It IS the coaching, and it is sucks.
Time (again) for a change.

Nick Sheridan. Little Brown Jug. Nuff said.
|16 weeks 19 hours ago||Pumped!||
I'm kind of pumped to listen to this game tonight. We have a decent track record of punking teams from the mid-atlantic/northeast.
Predicting a Michigan win: 28-24. Devin runs for 1 TD and throws for another; a RB scores the third TD, and special teams (or defense) gets us the fourth TD late to give us the victory.
Our backs are against the wall and we'll come out swinging!
Now you'll excuse me while I go fire up some Ufer on YouTube.
|16 weeks 1 day ago||I agree with this. In fact,||
I agree with this. In fact, I would posit to say he is already working on this angle.
If he can bring in a big fish, that might change the dialog about his job security.
At this point he has to have a home run lined up for immediate hire the split second Hoke is canned.
But there are some serious timing issues that make this seem improbable of actually being pulled off. Mainly, would he still be around to do the hiring of a big name coach who most likely wouldnt be availbable until after a bowl game?
Maybe a high profile coordinator would do the trick? I know Michigan likes to hire coaches with prior HC experience, but the timing issues for a coordinator may not be as sticky. I am not advocating any of this, just thinking aloud.
I have always felt that Hoke was a placeholder for a bigger hire to come later--but I am less sure of that now than I was a few years ago as I dont think winning football games is Brandon's main MO.

|16 weeks 3 days ago||Precedent for ignoring the||
Precedent for ignoring the money man:
Down here in Austin, the new AD (Patterson) didnt give a flip who billionaire Red McCombs (whose name is on the Business School--sound familiar?) wanted to hire as a replacement for Mack Brown. Instead Patterson asserted his authority and hired who he felt was the best candidate.
Word is that the search was conducted for most part outside of the influence of the big boosters --and this helped create an environment in which a large culture change was possible in the football program. McCombs even said some fairly derogatory things about Strong immediately after he was hired--and was solidly and quite publicly rebuked for it.
So, there is a predecent out there. Ross is not the owner of the Wolverines. Real change CAN happen.

Pretty clear thet Brandon and Hoke have an Us vs Them attitude now. Problem with that is we are the customers.
Amazing how fast we have moved to near wholesale fanbase alienation of this staff.

|16 weeks 6 days ago||I did. It was pretty||
It was pretty damning. There were dumbfounded that Morris was left in as long as he was.
Dierfdorf kept referring to the fact that Shane couldnt defend himself, and therefore had no businees being out there.
They both sounded tremendously relieved when Gardner went in.
Then, they both sounded surprised when Morris went back in for one play to replace Gardner. Mistakenly, they said that Speight had his helmet on and was ready to go in, which led to a small discussion about burning the red shirt. After the commercial break, they were quick to point out their mistake and said that Speight never had his helmet on/was in jeopardy of losing his red-shirt.
They kept trying to get the sideline guy (Crash?) to get them updates on Morris' health. When they finally got the update is was in a very somber voice that Crash said they took Morris' helmet away.
At least this is how I remember it. All very surreal.

|17 weeks 8 hours ago||Willie Heston's Predictions||
1. Hoke makes some sort of forced/scripted apologetic statement re: the Morris fiasco in order to keep his job for the duration of the season.
2. Hoke is gone at the end of the season no matter what.
3. Brandon keeps his job for the duration of the season unless there is a serious drop in revenue of stadium refreshments due to empty seats.
4. Brandon knows Hoke is a dead man walking and is lining up the next head coach in order salvage his reputation as AD at Michigan.
