Merry Christmas, Michigan Nation.
i'm like a giddy 5 year-old who can't wait to see what santa left under the tree.
only, in reality, i always get on a bad sleep schedule during the holidays and end up in zombie mode on christmas mornings.
In zzzzzombie modeeee.
I need to grow up and start drinking coffee. But that hopeless resolution is for New Year's
Currently drinking Carolyn's and dreading my sister's-in-law arrival. She may get punched in the fave if she tries to tell me all Chinese people are short and insist it is not a racist remark again
And as always, beat Ohio State.
Merry Christmas from Tucson ... 100 miles southeast of Tempe, where Meechigan is going to play a good game and send Kansas State back home with a "L" on their schedule!
Badazzler for Xmas?
I had an amazing Michigan hat back in 1988... I wish I knew where it was now...
side note... I had michigan curtains when I was 6 and I have kept them since. It is great to be a michigan wolverine!
merry christmas brothers and sisters.
Just finnished setting up,for the kids. It is cold in Ann Arbor tonight.
Merry Christmas and always GO BLUE!!
This blog is a gift I read every day and most days it makes me laugh like crazy. Nice work everyone. Go Blue!
Today, I went to my local beer store in Lubbock, TX in search of a few christmas brews. On a whim, I asked if they had ever gotten Founder's Backwoods Bastard in the past. The outstanding associate said that they had, and went in the back and found the last one they had in stock. Thank you sweet baby Santa Jesus for making this the best possible away-from-home Christmas evar.
That would constitute one, if I ever saw it.
I can't find it on the east side of the state, but you can find it in TX. Figures.
At least I have my dwindling case of Dark Horse BBA Plead The Fifth.
...but way out in the middle of the high plains of West Texas. Good luck to you in your quest for BWB. For what it's worth, this magical experience is worth the 2 or 3 hour drive to Grand Rapids if you do not succeed. The clock is ticking and I'm sure it won't last much longer.
Merry Christmas, and cheers!
Where I can find a signed autographed picture of "The Shot"? I had my chance to get it a while back but I was deployed. Wifey got me a subsitute pic of Trey for Christmas, but its not the same. I haz a sad...
with the picture, but thank you for your service. Happy Holidays
Just finished up setting everything up for the kids. Now finishing up with a snack (milk and cookies), then to bed for a couple hours of sleep before the kiddos are up.
Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday season. Go blue!!!
"Setting up" not "up setting" - think that bottle of wine before the milk and cookies may have had an effect.
I was jumping to defend you from grammar police... Well now I feel silly. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to you too and thanks for trying to defend my honor.
I like it better the first way. I had this wonderful image of a surly dad trashing the living room because his kids had been bad at the family party the night before
Down some ham, slam some eggnog and cherish time with your family. Enjoy it, you beautiful SOB's. Also, you could watch the NBA, but we all know no one really cares about the NBA.
Las Vegas. Tomorrow will be The Hangover, Part IV
Just don't shoot your eye out. However, if you can find a furry convention and get photoed with or in a pink bunny suit and glasses you would be a legend here.
Merry Christmas to all. Thankful for everything I have. So excited that I get to spend Christmas with my niece and nephew. Thank you to Brian and the staff for doing an awesome job and putting up with all the crazy people that visit the blog.
THIS IS NOW A POS BANG THREAD
Alcohol was consumed in the making of this post.
Also merry christmas!!!
The true home of St Nik.
I too am now finally done putting the toys together, didn't know Monster High school had so many things to put together. And so frickin' small!! However like others have noted, maybe the gin and tonics didn't help....
And you all can see where my priorities are, before I go to bed to rest up for a fantastic day with my family, I needed to check in with my UM family. Although anonymous, this blog has a certain comfort that is like a family. So to all, please have a great holiday season, all be safe, and all find peace.
Merry Xmas to Michigan friends everywhere!
this fine Christmas morning. Going to hopefully get home just in time for the kids to get up. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!
So we've opened presents at all different times of the day and night over the years.
Thanks so much to all the MgoStaff for all their work and insight. Y'all truly make each week and this brutal season tolerable/enjoyable. Brian, your prose is second to none. Keep up the good work and may the new year bring peace and joy to the MgoCommunity. And aside from everything that happened prior to April 6, the year 2013 can go fuck itself.
Now go win this weekend guys!
You all avoid paper cuts from wrapping paper.
Thanks for all of the entertainment you all provided on the blog this year. May 2014 be a much better year for us all.
And I exchanged gifts last night. She got me a pair of Michigan men's bball tickets. I'm pretty stoked for that. Merry Christmas everyone!
Your wife got you a pair of Michigan men's bball ticket.
Let me guess. You got your wife a pair of Michigan men's bball tickets too.
How dare you say Merry Christmas.
I don't even celebrate Christmas (I'm Jewish) and I find it insane when people get offended by others saying merry Christmas.
Does anyone really get offended or do news stations act like they do so they have stories to scream about?
everyone. Even you. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas everyone(yeah I said it if you don't like it don't read it) it's 5:25 in Kalamazoo and I can't sleep. Excited to see the two kiddos wake up and see the look on their faces when they see all the gifts under the tree!
Also a shout out to all the men and woman serving in the armed forces that can't be home with their families today. Our family is thankful everyday for your service and bravery!
About to start my smoker, gonna have this bird ready by 2pm ..Merry Christmas everyone
The 10 month old has been up for a few hours, the 3 year old couldn't fall asleep until super late because she was so excited. I think the kids pretty much have this Christmas thing figured out. I'm way more excited about the holiday season now that I have kids!
Same here. Our 20 month old is trying to walk around with every toy she got. It's not working out but she's having a blast.
Cville? As in Centerville? or somewhere else
Charlottesville, VA. I've learned through Mgoblog that there are a lot of CVille's out there. Enjoy the 20 month old! The twos weren't so terrible, it just keeps getting more fun.
The ER never sleeps! Just finished my shift and now trying to catch some sleep before everyone gets up. Merry christmas all!
I've spent a couple of holidays with family members at an ER -- don't ask...
Starting the morning with some Bailey's and coffee. It is the calm before the storm while the young niece is still asleep...
First and foremost, a Merry Christmas to the MGoCommunity!
We've already been up for about 90 minutes here actually, and of course, as is normally the case, I was up late watching games so I am running on about four hours of sleep and two pots of coffee. This year at least, my wife and I were hoping to get to at least 6 AM before someone would burst in and exclaim that Santa had come, but we were about a half hour short. Maybe next Christmas, eh?
Leftover turkey from yesterday might be the order of the day today - we have plenty left and I only cooked a 12-pound bird. Beyond that, probably basketball and "A Christmas Story" as my wife, kids and I rotate TV priviliges (i.e., as people drift in and out of the family room).
Merry Christmas everyone! First year in my son's 4 year life that I didn't buy or make him anything UM. I'm sure Grammie and Grandpa will make up for it :) My son loves the MMB and told us yesterday, I hope the elves can make a tuba because that's what I really want. Needless to say, he did not wake up to a tuba, but he still declared that Santa brought him everything he wanted. So yay!
Best wishes to all in the MGo community! We came down to Florida (from Michigan) to celebrate with the in-laws. Having a great time. But my neighbor back home tells me my trees got jacked pretty bad from the ice storm--next week will be back to reality. Hope everyone is enjoying the great times today with family!
Merry Christmas everyone. Hope Santa exceeds your expectations.
So far the gift of the day in our house is the fart gun from Despicable Me. Not sure who likes it more - the kids or the adults...
Got one for my 6year old. Loves it.
This has been a rocky year for me, in which I will not bother you with the details, but as this year has gone on I have continuously search for the little things. The Mgocommunity has been one of those little things for years now. At times I've used it as a device to get my mind off of things. Even though it's debatably been the worst year in Michigan history, this blog has been a place where we can all come together with a common interest. And that is to fire Al Borges, but in all seriousness, thank you. There are thousands of unseen faces here that affect my life on a daily basis, even if you know it or not. So, I wish you a Merry Christmas and any other holiday you may celebrate. I have faith that things will continue to improve for me as well as they will for the program. Enjoy this time with your loved ones and Go Blue!
And I hope things get better for you. Always look on the bright side of life!
Amen my friend. Just think: another lap around the sun starts soon, and it will be what you make it.
Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!
Merry Christmas. About to take on Sparty in NCAA '14. Go Blue
I am lucky. My three year old slept in!
constipation on top of my regular irritable bowel for Christmas. Yay me. I do have to say however that I kicked ass this year in the gift giving. Made my wife cry happy tears.
You must be old. My wife and I used to make fun of her grandparents for discussing their bowel movements (one of the funniest was her grandmother's comment on the way to the airport; "I guess I shouldn't have taken that second laxative this morning"). Now we sometimes discuss our digestive issues, which can be a pain in the ass.
Merry Christmas to all, and may your bowel movements be regular and of a comfortable and pleasing consistency!
Happy holidays all.
For the first time in probably 5 years, I didn't get anything that makes the mgoblog list of 10 most useless pieces of Michigan paraphernalia. Success?
$1,000,000,000 maize & blue hail to the victors chocolate bar. I think that qualifies.
A lot of young players who showed flashes of promise this year. A stable coaching staff. A well stocked war chest of funds. My PSD is paid off for one more year. The '14 recruiting class seems to have bonded. There's one more chance to see the team play before spring ball-stadium practice. The Team has faced some adversity this year, and I think they showed they never were willing to give up. I think the sweetest victory of all is when we can conquer adversity because it puts seasons like this one into perspective. Merry Christmas to all in MGoLand and Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas, people. Check your shitters. They might be full.
That's uh...good advice. Um...thanks!
Our season of oppression ends tomorrow
Merry Christmas, Season Greetings, and/or Happy Holidays...whichever you prefer.
Merry Christmas Mgobloggers! Hope you all have a great day! Go Blue!!
From Birmingham, Alabama
Woke up at 4:30 this morning with a fever and a sore throat from hell. And I have to drive from Petoskey to Saginaw, too. Merry Christmas!!
And I live just south of Saginaw! But it sure beats the alternative! Happy to be alive for another Christmas. Drive safely, it's snowing down here. 3 inches expected.
Merry Christmas from my home in Evansville, Indiana! See you guys at the GLI and the Winter Classic!
Evansville, IN? That's right in my neck of the woods! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all from Kettering, OH -the Home of Brady Hoke-
Merry Christmas everyone! I've now gone to two family get togethers and I am heading to my third and final family Christmas. Hopefully this one is as good as the other two were, though I'm worried about it.
And the day gets better ... I'm in the military and was walking out the door to go to the base while my baby daughter was running around with her Nemo and Dory when I get a phone call saying don't come in and to stay home. HUZZAH! Merry Christmas!!
Merry Christmas...and thank you!
Huzzah is right!! Enjoy the kids and your time off.
and thanks for your service.
Even though we all don't agree on everything, the one thing we can all agree on is the hope that everyone has a great day and a safe and happy holiday season.
Merry Christmas from White Pigeon, Michigan.
Merry Christmas my fellow Wolverines. Hang in there, 2013 is almost over.
from Mandan, ND
Merry Christmas ya filthy animals.
Merry Christmas everyone! Go Blue!!
BTN programming note- Michigan/NW 3ot winner on at Noon today.
One week from now we wake up in 2014 and everything from The Year That Shall Not Be Mentioned is in the past.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Merry Christmas from Washington, D.C.! God bless the maize and blue!
Just received my Christmas present from the girlfriend. Couple of mini-helmets one signed by Gardner and Cam Gordon, the other by coach Hoke. Merry Christmas Mgoblog
Santa gave us our electricity back at ten pm. Best Christmas present I got this year by far. Sick of filling the generator up already!! And...the neighbors without generators found it offensive that I left my Christmas lights on during the outage. What gives!?!?
Merry Christmas y'all!! Here's to a safe , happy, prosperous new year (and hopefully at least 10 wins in '14:-)
Great use of a generator to keep your Christmas lights going.
The day of Hurricaine Sandy my neighbor (without a generator) asked me to move my generator to the back of my house because the noise bothered him (there were 3 other generators going on our street at the time). Two days later when the power was still out he asked to borrow it.
Presents lobbed to daughter, generally uncatchable but in this case 2.5/3 [sewing machine, dummy, and needlepoint of her horse]
To husband, who is the Jeremy Gallon of present recipients, 2/2 [two Alfred Hitchcock collections on DVD]
To son, who is usually acts as family RB (can run with anything) in this case 2/2 on a couple of short tosses with consider YAR [a trip to the Michigan Stanford game and an espresso maker]
Everybody happy with me as QB! Hope all is well with you fols too!
I left +1's under all of your trees.
Merry Christmas, MGoBloggers.
Merry Christmas from Las Vegas, NV. My first Christmas as a father (10 month old twins, boy and girl), we have opened up two presents and they seem pretty content, now asleep. Breakfast burritos and dogfish head 90 minute is up next! Be safe everyone!
You are more than a casual reader.. consider your annual beveled guilt..
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a go blue.
Can't get much better than tickets to see the Pistons against the Jazz. Really looking forward to seeing Trey Burke play at the next level in person.
Holiday guilt, known to be among the more nefarious forms of guilt, has been beveled. Thanks, MGoBlog.
Eh, fuck it.
Merry Christmas, everybody.
Jersey in NBA game are stupid and awful
Eat some good food and enjoy some time with your friends and family. Hope santa was good to everyone. Be careful and don't shoot your eye out!
Animal Emergency Clinic with one of our precious dogs. Blood panels, x-rays and ultra sounds, in addition to the full exam, revealed no probable causes for his symptoms (or suggested any cures). He spent the night and was a little more perky this morning, but he still wouldn't eat. We made an appointment with a specialist for tomorrow morning. He has eaten a little since we have had him home for a few hours.
Our "worst Christmas ever" was put into perspective on our way to the clinic this morning. We passed an assisted living home that had 3 emergency vehicles in front (with lights flashing) and men were busy moving a stretcher. I told my wife, "there is someone having a worse Christmas than us."
Be thankful for your blessings. Merry Christmas to one and all. And Santa, if you are still on duty, all I really want for Christmas is my dog's good health back.
My sweet dog was hit by a car and killed on Christmas Day 2003...still bothers me to this day.
Hope your dog is well. Hope everyone enjoys their family (including pets) this Christmas.
I was at the ER this morning with my son. Nothing all that serious; he should be fine in a few days. Grateful for awesome cheerful UM hospital staff who worked today.
As I walked out of there with my soon-to-be-healthy son I gave a thought to the families who were spending Christmas at the hospital.
Love to all the MGoBlogger families having a rough holiday for that or other reasons.
No one that still buys me Christmas presents would ever buy me anything cool like that. But the cabelas gift cards will help towards an EoTech for my 6.8.
from blackthorne. Magpul grips & heat shield; just put a Burris fast fire on a 45 degree base for a rapid backup sight behind the IOR fixed 4 power. Pretty fun little toy. My 5.56 is a bushmaster stainless varminter. I'm actually trying to decide if I want the EoTech bad enough for the 6.8, or if I want to go for a vari-x 3 for the bushmaster.
Merry Christmas! I am here for the holiday pos bang.
Merry Christmas all of you mgobloggers. I have only been on the site for a few months but have been reading it since 2012. I really appreciate the work everyone puts into analysis, videos, and overall quality and thoughfulness of their posts.
This power outage is the cherry on top of the shitty year sundae. Roll on 2014.
Merry Christmas MGoFamily.
Merry Christmas to the entire MGoCommunity!
You and this place really help me keep my sanity when times get tough for my beloved Wolverines!
