And of course in my haste I misspell our coaches name...
Can one of the mods help me out?
November 11th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
That's ok. You beat that other dude by seconds and that's the important thing right?
November 11th, 2019 at 12:16 PM ^
Hahaha I love that show!
November 11th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
Yours is just the Cajun pronunciation...
November 11th, 2019 at 12:38 PM ^
It’s actually the pronunciation of a bbq restaurant I want to open on campus: Hogbaugh
November 11th, 2019 at 8:25 PM ^
I can picture a great SNL commercial for Harbaugh's bbq joint!

This is Orgeron speak

Hail Haugbaugh!

Did you hear about the dyslexic Jehovah's Witness?
Went door to door to spread the word of Dog.
November 11th, 2019 at 3:30 PM ^
Or the dyslexic atheist.
He ran around yelling, there is no dog!
November 11th, 2019 at 3:39 PM ^
Technically, the dyslexic atheist would be yelling, "I have not been shown sufficient evidence to believe in dog!"
November 11th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
No, that is the dyslexic agnostic.

Good for him! Just like the time he pissed off the World Security Council for protecting the Winter Soldier after the bombing death of a monarch from a non-existent African country, but finally worked his way back into the good graces of SHIELD and Tony Stark.

Whatever you say, nerd.
November 11th, 2019 at 1:04 PM ^
I get it. Nice.
November 11th, 2019 at 1:12 PM ^
I understood that reference.
November 11th, 2019 at 2:23 PM ^
That's not even original. You're just aping my joke...
November 11th, 2019 at 2:36 PM ^
Don't say "pissed off." He doesn't like that kind of language.

I'm very glad that Evans was reinstated - both for him personally and for the team.
However, I truly hope that other students (non athletes) would be given the same chance, all else being equal. If this was a special deal due to him being a revenue sport athlete, that would be disappointing.
Anyone know more about this type of situation?
November 11th, 2019 at 5:43 PM ^
I can’t recall a situation like this even in a revenue sport. It seems very unusual for someone to get suspended not just from the sport but from school, sit out a whole season working as an Ahmo’s delivery guy, and then come back to the same school. If he’s getting a special break from UM it’s not a very generous one. Sure seems to me like he took his lumps.
November 11th, 2019 at 9:12 PM ^
I was referring to the academic aspect, specifically.
November 12th, 2019 at 10:56 AM ^
This case involved a disagreement with a professor. There was compelling mitigating arguments for Chris. No special treatment.
Chris also (apparently) did well at WCC this fall and was an assistant coach for Huron.
November 11th, 2019 at 12:15 PM ^
Good for him. Can he participate now even though he’s reinstated for winter?
November 11th, 2019 at 1:04 PM ^
If he had taken a "loan" from a "family friend" yes. Academic impropriety at U of M... no.
November 11th, 2019 at 8:27 PM ^
He should have paid the family friend to write the paper for him ...
November 11th, 2019 at 1:22 PM ^
Can he go bowling with us. I think MSU has booked the lanes at the Detroit facility, but there might be something in Florida or San Diego.

Woo hoo! Playmakers!
November 11th, 2019 at 12:17 PM ^
Thank the Evans! I copy and pasted from the other second to market post.
November 11th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
Good for him.
Worth congratulations on all the threads.

Happy for the Kid in Play. Go Blue
November 11th, 2019 at 12:18 PM ^
Whether he contributes to the success on the field or not - good for Chris. Not easy to battle back on personal/scholastic issues like that. I will be rooting for him to have a successful year and get his degree.

No one knows the answers to these questions.....but I'll ask anyways.
Would this make Evans eligible for our bowl game against FL?
And how does this situation affect his remaining eligibility
November 11th, 2019 at 12:27 PM ^
Well played with the middle question!
November 11th, 2019 at 12:35 PM ^
Still trying to find the middle of two questions...
November 11th, 2019 at 12:51 PM ^
Read between the lines...
November 11th, 2019 at 1:48 PM ^
It's hidden somewhere behind the latest HUEL-induced ad glitch.
November 12th, 2019 at 5:38 PM ^
lulz just seeing this now. Well played
November 11th, 2019 at 12:19 PM ^
Glad to see the young man own up to his mistake and work hard to get back in good standing. Best of luck to him!
November 11th, 2019 at 12:20 PM ^
What kind of impact could this have on recruiting? Hopefully kids don’t see that as a red flag. Bring em on in.
November 11th, 2019 at 12:21 PM ^
I disagree
November 11th, 2019 at 12:34 PM ^
Sorry ...WTF do you mean?
November 11th, 2019 at 12:36 PM ^
Don't you just hate it when kids are justifiably suspended, but stay committed to the school and program and work themselves back to eligibility? Big red flag to all the recruits and parents out there.
November 11th, 2019 at 12:40 PM ^
I should’ve specified to RB recruits
November 11th, 2019 at 2:32 PM ^
Hes back for one year and is gone. With Charbonnet and Haskins, most recruits were trying to beat out Turner for 3rd on the depth chart for next year anyway.
November 11th, 2019 at 3:08 PM ^
It's even worse when the program sticks with them and welcomes them back. Utterly despicable.
