If we're going to delete any thread, it should be the one below this one.

Clicked hoping to be enlightened as to why not Schiano. Instead wasted my time.
November 5th, 2014 at 11:32 AM ^
I come to this blog to waste time because it beats the hell out of doing my job
November 5th, 2014 at 12:13 PM ^
Google "Schiano" if you want more info. I guess OP was on the assumption that people who follow football would have at least heard about his mediocre college HC record and the tire fire his NFL coaching career was.

Imagine our Offensive advantage if we had him as our coach. I would wager it would be decided and it would mostly flow from his scheme.
How could it go wrong?
November 5th, 2014 at 11:36 AM ^
Then in 3 years, when his ND buyout has concluded, he can still make over $4 mill / year to not coach at Kansas and Michigan.
November 5th, 2014 at 11:38 AM ^
Talk about doing it right. Making millions of dollars to not coach football.
November 5th, 2014 at 11:40 AM ^
Psh, I would do it for a quarter of that ... a cool $1 mill / year to not coach your football teams.

So many shots on the board at Hoke....and almost all of them loved by the community. The guy might not be a great coach and has earned his departure, but he sure passes the "good guy" and "would have a beer with him" test. Piling on RR (who would have been just as happy to coach at any school signing the check) was verboten here, so why is everyone so cool with trashing a guy loves Michigan as much as anyone here?

Ignoring their coaching performances (both of which were bad at Michigan), RR discussion was always couched with "he's a great guy". The great guy who made tons of enemies (not just in A2...consider the high school coaches who hated him as well). Hoke seems to be a great guy (with that being his main positive trait) and folks here shit on him constantly. It's a strange one.

Finally, a schematic advantage.

While this is obviously a joke, we could do a lot worse than Schiano.

Greg Schiano had a marginal overall record in a terrible conference. He would set us back another 10 yrs. Would honestly prefer Hoke (yes, you read that right).
November 5th, 2014 at 12:02 PM ^
At least 4 coaches I would want before Schiano
1) Harbaugh
2) Dan Mullen
3) Les Miles
4) Tom Herman
Thereb are probably more but I am going to Lunch now.

I read the fourth one as Tom Harman. I still think it's accurate.

I believe I saw Derek Dooley and John Blake get in the "Anyone" line just now. Perhaps we do need to have a minimum requirement after all.
Also, Bobby Williams just faxed over his resume with a certain portion of it blacked out with a Sharpie, if I had to guess.

How many times do we have to go through this. The ath. Dept has made two risky hires in a row and both have turned out badly. If there is a third, this program will play in fromt of 30,000 empty seats every week. We are not in a position to take a chance on anyone. THIS MUST BE A HOMERUN. Harbaugh is the No. 1 target, if that falls through, it's the next proven winner, most likely Miles, after that it starts getting risky, Mullen, Patterson and Herman at OSU, getting very risky now.....The Sciano's of the world are just angrier versions of Hoke. No better. This program can't go 8-4 every year. If we do that, we'll be at best 3rd in our division every year. You can't sell tickets and suites based on those numbers. This is not that hard to understand.....And no, Fitzgerald, Stitt, et al are very risky. We need someone who has been there and done that. The list is very short.
November 5th, 2014 at 1:29 PM ^
8-4 looks pretty good right now.
