CBS Sports/Feldman article on Da'Shawn Hand
IMO, he is a must-have if for no reason other than this:
For my commitment day, I just want to have it at my school. I'm not going to have three hats. I'm going to have one hat. I'm gonna call the coaches the night before. Tell them what school I'm going to and that's it.I'd love to know who made the M. Jackson statement
Does he project to the weak or strong side? Obviously it'd be tough to redshirt a guy like him but its hard to see a situation in which Taco isn't a monster by year two.
Hand projects as a SDE down the road, but he's athletic enough to play WDE in the meantime if that's what Michigan needs most. With the guys Michigan has in the pipeline at WDE, I don't think Hand would need to play on the weakside.
You get that just from watching film?
Not angry enough.
No, he gets that from being a part-time middle school football coach and full-time fatass.
That's better.
He doesn't have a job like mine where he's the CEO of a Fortune 500 company AND the QB for the Ravens while banging Kate Upton and Scarlett Johansson in a threeway every other night. He's just a sorry internet loser. Not that I'd ever think hostility on the internet is acceptable.
Sorry, thought Mr. Rager had to chime in too to make it complete.
With the defensive plan being to have two guys who are "starters" in terms of ability, versatility, number of snaps and such, I doubt it'd matter much. At least that's my interpretation of quotes I've read from Mattison. He doesn't just want depth, he wants QUALITY depth at each position.
He's projected to be a SDE.
Hand projects to ALL the sides.
Hand repeatedly states that Foster is his favorite coach, but Michigan is his favorite staff. If I read into that (and I do), it seems like he wants to show Foster some love, as he respects the guy, but his heart is at Michigan right now. Couple that with the fact that he hasn't spoken with Foster in a while, and I think Michigan is in the lead. That may change with visits to USC and Florida, but I think we are in the lead and are the likely source of his signature in February.
Combine that statement with his comments about answering the phone when he wants to talk to someone and not answering when he does not want to talk to someone! Sound like he is dropping VT.
Wish you could get more than +5 for this one.
What coach thought it would be a great selling point to meet Michael Jackson?? Even if he was alive?? Amazing.
Maybe it was the ohio staff that made that comment which could be one of the reasons he hasn't been as interested in them. Who knows but that is a pretty crazy statement and I agree with you....I don't think getting him to meet Michael Jackson would be that great.
SI.com had a humorous theory on that subject - the whole snippet is HERE.
They focus on Les Miles, Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin, but I personally enjoyed the swipe at Saban:
"Nick Saban, whose focus on The Process might have prevented him from actually learning that Jackson had died."
LOL. TITO. Mr. Jackson if you're nasty.
Some coach clearly doesn't understand the concepts in MJ's greatest (IMO) hit.
Hand seems like a pretty down-to-earth guy; I still think we have about a 50/50 chance with him, but that's pretty awesome when you consider we already have Peppers.
Its not hard for Hoke to be real and geninue when other coaches are offering up visits to dead celebrities.
...Wait--Tito's still alive?
I made the mistake of reading the comments section of that article. If you value your IQ points and would like to keep at least a little faith in humanity, I suggest you avoid doing what I just did.
This brings me to an interesting crossroads of my life. For several years now, I have mostly quit drinking. One of the many reasons for doing so was to (presumably) preserve what brain power I still had. Instead of spending time in bars or at parties, I have taken to reading a lot of online articles and the subsequent comments pertaining to them.
I often think I should have just kept drinking.
congrats on your decision
then you need to drink WHILE you read online comments. The alcohol heightens the depressing effects of the comments.
Just make sure you don't have any loaded weapons nearby.
This made my morning.
Chris Rock had this bit where he talked about how the father in the Jackson family used to beat his kids. "I understand whooping Michael. And I definitely understand beating La Toya's ass. But why you gotta hit Tito?? TITO NEVER HURT NOBODY!"
As for Hand, sounds like a kid with his feet firmly planted on the ground. Good for him. Hope we don't lose him to Southfield.
Bill Frieder, recuritiment of Bo Derek(one of the hottest models in the day). Everyone on the planet knew her from the movie,"Perfect 10."
For those who don't the story...Frieder was a RELENTESS recuriter (Izzo pattern his recuriting style after BF and has publicly stated this) for then headcoach Johnny Orr. Anyway, the staff knowing Frieder would get his recruit told him about this recurit named,Bo Derek. Frieder was told,Bo was 5 star, rank very highly, along with being a must have player needed for the program. Frider (not having a life, always on the recuriting trail) didn't know who Bo was...needless to say he searched high and low for this Bo Derek. Reported back to Coach Orr stating he couldn't find this Bo Derek...only to be told by Orr who Bo was. Reportly, everyone who knew knew he was seeking to recurit Bo fell out on the floor in laugher...
Recalling,Frieder recuriting prowless...he might have pulled her!!
Ahhh, yes. Chld abuse comedy...always good for a few laughs.
For some reason I'd like to see this on a t-shirt.
That line has all the makings of (yet another) MGoMeme.
deciding?
Definitely not at a Jackson 5 reunion.
