Honestly you nailed it here. This is why they go after these “crimes” very publicly. It’s how they show everyone they’re needed and relevant (never were). They don’t go after the hookers and cheating and PEDs and the sex assaults and the…because the NCAA can’t even acknowledge that exists because it’ll show the opposite - that they are useless and a joke. The prosecute minor crimes hard because they CAN and it’s all a stunt IMO.

I don't blame Harbaugh at all if he goes. My guess is he told Warde to tell them to fuck off or he's gone and Warde said he would, but couldn't guarantee anything, hence the vague language about planning on being Michigan's coach next year.
With all this low level bullshit that has come out, I wouldn't blame Harbaugh for leaving to not have to deal with this bullshit while there are so many more obvious infractions that the NCAA doesn't even touch.
Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Love Harbaugh for everything he has done here.

Notice how they won't come down on the schools that prop up their big cash cow - the NCAA basketball tournament. North Carolina, Kansas, Arizona, and Kentucky could host an international cocaine festival, invite every HS basketball player in the country, and give them each a shitload of drugs, money, and food, and wouldn't get a 2nd look from the NCAA. Michigan feeds a couple kids hamburgers and it's a level 2 violation.

How do you think that would play out? Doubt the NCAA is going to change its ways and become a legit legislative body...more likely they would do more behind the scenes BS to make life even more hellish for UM.
Plus why would Harbaugh stick his neck out unless other coaches were going to have his back? The way it works now...you'd prob have a couple speak up for him, a couple take the other side (SEC/Rivals/Bert :) , etc) and hope UM burns and most will just keep quiet and watch from the side lines.
On the otherhand he could be one of the highest paid Coaches in the NFL and buy steak burgers and milk for every player and their cousins too.
