My weather app is predicting rain/freezing rain/snow for Columbus next weekend.  😆 The thought of the angst this is causing buckeye fans is the kind of schadenfreude that I used to think I was above. Now, it just makes me smile.

I was at that Vikings-Giants game at Ford Field, there were some issues at the Metrodome. We had this drunk guy in our section, rocking a Spielman jersey, he was very entertaining!😂

Six feet over 2-3 days is not far out of line with what they've seen in the past (see here). Buffalo and some of the other places on Lake Erie can really get dumped on.

Like a complete idiot I drove through Erie PA during a snowstorm where they had five feet of snow over a couple of days (pictures here). Shortly after we crossed over into Pennsylvania my wife wanted to stop to to go the bathroom; I had to tell her that I wasn't sure we'd be able to get back on 90 if we did.

In that case, the snow stopped at about the time we reached the NY state line.

true story:  one day it snowed 3 feet in the U.P. and i went to my office.  i told the girls they didn't need to come in, but hey, what is a 1-ton 4x4 diesel crew cab good for if it's not going through a few feet of snow.  worked fine.  plowed when i got home.  i have never been bothered by driving in snow.

i tell the kids when i was young this was spring training weather for baseball and a zamboni came out between innnings....

The few days that Tech canceled classes when I was a student, a few friends and I would drive an hour north to Bohemia for a pow day. It's harder to do now that I work from home, but I did take a half day last winter for the purpose as well. Almost anything is drivable as long as you take it slow enough.

That being said, I understand the difficulty of maintaining a massively overcrowded stadium in that kind of intense snow. Logistics and safety are different when you're dealing with more than a few thousand people.

I’m a season ticket holder and do one Browns away a year so last week my wife and I “took our talents to south beach” to watch first hand the Clowns get drilled by the Dolphins.  Had a great weekend up to and then after the game.

In a dome against our defense (the only team worse at defense than the Browns btw is the Lions) Josh Allen might throw for 600 yards.  Bills are going to pulverize us, prolly something like 45 - 14, our only hope was that game would be played in that blizzard.

Oh, and the over/under opened at 44, went to 41 when the weather forecast was made and after they announced the venue change moved back to 48!

The B1G used that same wording in their August 2020 statement cancelling the upcoming football season.

Personally I have come to roll my eyes at the statement “out of an abundance of caution”, because it REALLY tends to be about $$$ or fear of a lawsuit (which is, again, $$$).  But the phrase has entered our lexicon.

As for this game - if it weren’t for Thanksgiving the NFL would have played the game in Buffalo and just moved it to Monday or Tuesday.  They had multiple Tuesday games in 2020 and 2021.  But that’s not an option given the Bills Lions game.  Moving this game is ultimately about $$$ too (even the bad Thanksgiving games get mega ratings and those advertising dollars cannot be missed).
