Save for the journey that makes a champion realize what it takes, you don't really appreciate that road till you live it and then share it. And we should understand that for any team, in any sport, the ability to win under any circumstance is based on your ability and desire to trust and love your teammates and their capability.

That is what Beiein teaches as much as as his own system and philosophy. And when we iunderstand how together this team is and loves playing together, then we never have the right to question its leadership and direction. And, of course, results matter more than anything else.

I mean, yeah. Even if things fall apart and he were to be fired, that's years from now and he's not going somewhere else. Ironically if Wilson and Wagner blow up enough to go pro we will have a rough year next season. But he'll have the goodwill to rebuild.

After this win and that speech I looked at my Michigan buddy and said, "Beilein can now decide when he wants to retire". I didn't think that a few months ago. I'm done, I'm sold. He's earned it. Go blue.

I dig Beilein, and this year has left me wondering what if levert didn't get hurt or Mitch get drug tested... we would have a much better looking data set.

I do fear that we may just be good enough to make a run every four years, and I think we could do better... but then again maybe I should remember that it could be much worse.

Saying Beilein can't coach, can't recruit etc. every time the team goes through some bad games?  The guy can obviously flat out coach!

I personally hope he stays as long as possible. One of the best tacticians in the land and seems like a pretty cool leader.  Hope you all got to see him storming the locker room after the win with a super soaker!!  Priceless.

GO BLUE!  AND GO BEILEIN!

I met John and Kathy several years ago in Trader Joe's.  They are the nicest folks that you will ever meet.  I apologized for interrupting their Sunday shopping but they were both gracious and seemed interested in our conversation, which focused on our campus and city.

They love Ann Arbor and hope to retire here.  Coaching has been his life; he has never had the time to learn golf.

I still don't understand the criticism leveled at him earlier in the year.  I realize that we lost a few games and the team was not playing well, but jeesh.

And he really has this team playing as a team with destiny.  He seems so relaxed....at least after the games.

GoBlue!  Best to JB.

I am an admitted Beilein critic, who has tabled my many criticisms (rational and irrational) as I watch and thoroughly enjoy what he and this team have done to address their weaknesses, make a 180 and turn themselves into a force to be reckoned with this postseason. That said, even I and other detractors have always said that Michigan basketball is Beilein's until he decides to step away himself. That was never a question, and I think he has plenty in the tank and feels as at home here than anywhere he's ever been. This is his last stop for sure.

JB can coach at Michigan as long as he wants, then he can open up the most badass sub shop in Ann Arbor!!
