Baxter's EE at USC?

Submitted by Frank Drebin on
Just did a quick directory search for USC, and there was no sign of Baxter. I am not sure how quickly they update their student directory, but I know UM's EE students are already listed. He was supposed to enroll and start today if I recall. A side note, he is not in our directory either so this shoots down the theory of EE students sending in their app to multiple schools just in case something like this happens. Looks good that he won't be a Trojan!

Agreed. He's not enrolling early anywhere right now. Once USC picks a coach he should have a few weeks to make a decision before a LOI. Even if he has really hard feelings about Carroll leaving, he might just hate Carroll and still love USC. I think he's going to play hard to get in order to get some attention and still end up a Trojan. Maybe the possible NCAA sanctions will scare him off though.

Agreed. I believe Baxter will end up signing with USC in the end. Looks like USC is pushing hard for Jack Del Rio, a former USC player. Del Rio used Maurice Jones-Drew pretty well in all phases of the offense, which would appeal alot of Baxter. We'll see what happens, but I won't get my hopes up on landing Baxter.

8 carries for 172 yards against the Titans. Think maybe they could have gotten him the ball a little bit more. Then there were the times he was pulled down by the goal line. I doubt Baxter is going to USC, but I'm not sure he ends up here either. Though I do believe having Tate here gives us a leg up.

tell him to take an e-seat and ask him what he was doing on the USC directory. when he claims he was 'just looking for an old high school friend' and had no idea Baxter was still in high school and not the college friend he thought he was, scowl and read off the various searches he conducted in a monotone voice. then have an e-cop dressed as a tree tackle him when he tries to exit the board.

personally, i convinced a Sprint representative (thanks Sandy!) that I was Baxter's legal guardian and that i would like his phone tracked using their easy and convenient Sprint Family Locator. doing so has helped me coordinate various 'coincidences' involving positive talk about RR, UM, the evils of sunburn and the common swapping of various disgusting STDs on other campuses in Taco Bells, malls and other frequent teenager hotspots. really, i don't understand why people think recruiting is all that hard. i also think Facebooking a recruit is WAY more creepier than knowing how many times he's gone to the movies in the past month ("DOWN IN FRONT! AND GO BLUE!")

do you mean Denise, the 'supposed' USC co-ed who claims to be ready and willing to hook up with football players at a moment's notice but has instead gotten several important, unnamed USC football players in trouble with Chris Hansen, host of ABC's Dateline series 'To Catch a Predator.' or do you mean Denise, the USC co-ed who is really hot but is instead a woman involved in the illegal blackmarket trade of organs that recently got the liver, kidneys and esophagus of several important, unnamed USC football players and left them in ice baths instead of showing them 'a good time.' or perhaps you mean Denise, the...

...dressing up like a utility worker of some kind (usually a cable repairman, but occasionally as a plumber). I knock on the door, and tell the recruit I got a call about a faulty pipe or internet connection. Once inside, I like to strike up a casual conversation about how much I miss Ann Arbor, and how the rest of the country pales in comparison. I then hook up a small transmitting device to his speaker system, which plays "The Victors," "Temptation," and "Hawaiian War Chant" at subliminal levels in the background of any other music coming from the stereo.

the way you typed this, i really expected a second paragraph explaining how back in your day you had to stalk recruits by foot, through the bushes, uphill both ways and how kids these days are just lazy and try to find out commitments through "the internet" and other bullshit. can you send me a check for $8 on my birthday? i miss grandpa.

His record as coach at Jacksonville is two games over .500, he's had two losing seasons in a row, and Jax would appear to be a longshot at making any kind of run in the playoffs next year. However, from the POV of USC, he's got instant cred as a former Pro Bowl linebacker and seasoned head coach, and the transition between the pros in the NFL and the pros in USC would be minimal.

Gotta go with Snookie. For one thing, it looked like that guy decided to punch whomever was next to him before he even turned his head to see who it was. Also, it looks like he might have bonus punched the dude in between. There's just something so... Jersey about it.
