B1G Third Place Game/Clemson-VT Open Thread

The only thing we can really take away from the pregame analysis is that Dave Wannstedt is apparently a fan of The Notorious B.I.G. Actually, that might be the most important take of the night, depending on how this game goes.

Seriously. WD looks like a jackass posting that. Yes, we know M is better than Wisconsin and PSU, but we still (yet again) won't be winning the conference title. It's insane to me that it has be twelve years since winning a conference title and going on thirteen next season. So annoyed.

but at the same time, the committee wants to reward teams for playing tough opponents and not scheduling a cake non-con and then hoping a shiny record and a conference title is enough (Baylor 2014, Washington 2016).

Clemson at least played Auburn while Ohio State has a very nice resume and a big win over OU. For that reason, I think Washington is a lock for the 4-seed.

  1. Alabama
  2. Ohio State
  3. Clemson
  4. Washington
  5. Michigan
  6. Wisconsin (5-6 will be essentially interchangeable at this point)
  7. Oklahoma

Remember when we've had "what other NCAA teams do you root for?" threads? Mine are Washington and Clemson in football. But I would of course gladly let one of them fall out of the playoff for my (by far) #1 team. The top of this year's polls has looked pretty good to me all year though with my 3 favs stacked up. If Clemson wins I hope those 2 can upset my 2 most hated teams.

They play a different type of football in these big games. VT won't roll over, but Clemson is going to play like they should've played all year.

PSU/Wisky will be interesting with a backup QB and they have to burn a RS for a true freshman if Houston goes down.

I highly recommend everyone put 2 TVs in your living room or man caves if you haven't already done so. Totally worth it.

Been 3 years and people are just used to it at my house and I've debated on a 3rd.

2 is nice becuase you just hit prev channel and flip them when they go to commercial.

...they should've lost 3-4 times this year, but this time of year is what they've been waiting for...another shot at Bama. They're playing like it now.
