Auburn blocks Derrick Moncreif transfer to Michigan
I work with an Aburn grad, one of his friends sent him a link to something claiming Auburn blocked a transfer because they thought the staff was tampering, but they don't have proof to actually file a complaint about it. So they did the only real thing they could.
I'm trying to get the link to the board/blog for that.
High-placed source at Auburn says Derrick Moncrief has NOT been blocked from transferring to Michigan.

@BMarcello Re: Moncrief. Source: List of restrictions include transfer inside SEC and to Clemson and Louisville, which Auburn plays in next 2 years.
How is this a reply to "ha?"
Payback for satellite camps. If he wants to come here, he should appeal.
Is there even an appeal process that doesn't go back to the same people who made the decision in the first place?
The appeal process is basically a slow middle finger from Auburn.
No...AFAIK there is not formal appeal process...
And this is why I can understand some of these guys trying to form a union. At present no one represents their point of view so they are at the whim and mercy of the NCAA.
Yeah the best he can do is take it to the media so Auburn can feel a little embarrassed about the situation and grant him his release

all about being fair to the kids. They are so pathetic down there.
Imagining your post being stated by smug Dwight Schrute
Eh, it's just what douchebaggery smells like.
Douchebaggery driven by fear, perhaps?... Or just bitterness towards JH maybe. If I were Jim I'd want to tell them to take it out on the people who made the rules not someone who happens to be exploiting a loophole.
surprise, ruthless effeciency, douchebaggery and an undying devotion to Harbaugh.
This deserves at least one +1, I enjoyed it.
But then, I'm old so...
Fuck the NCAA for allowing schools to dictate where their athletes are allowed to transfer.
STUDENT athletes. The NCAA cares about academics, which is why they have these transfer rules in place. I can explain everything if you follow me and my shovel into this abandoned mine shaft.
were sufficient. :-)
Which 3? Dictate Athletes Trasfer?
'first'?
yeah, got that. that was sarcasm. can't win em all.
The rule should be that schools can only restrict transfers to another team in the same conference or a school that is on the schedule in the next 2 years. This is absolutely pathetic. Harbaugh certainly has every coach's attention now.

If a kid completes his academic obligation he should be able to transfer wherever he pleases.

that'll come back to bite them
That'll teach Harbaugh not to introduce himself to kids in Alabama!
Who does that Harbaugh fella think he is? Next thing you know he'll be insisting on observing scholarship limits!
In addtion to the satellite camp thing, maybe that's also an indication that Harbaugh was in contact.
S-E-C! S-E-C!
But it's about the kids. What a bunch of douches using a kid to send a message.
Shots fired?
If you mean shots fired into a student athlete's gut in order to somehow get back at Harbaugh, yeah, I guess so.
Bottom GIF >>>>>>>top picture!
So let me get this straight, academically they are like the MSU of the ESS EEE SEE!
Auburn's had an MNC and two appearances in the title game since UM last appeared in the Rose Bowl... and yet they're still aiming for us. Glad JH is here.
There's gonna be heck to pay. Heck, I tell ya.
#Michigan is the only school for which Moncreif wasn't given a reason for denying release. Begs the question, is it a shot at @CoachJim4UM?

Is that Malzahn pulling that cart?
have paid $100k like they do
This is such bullshit. It would be like if I had the ability to decide who my ex-wife got to date after our marrage ended.
Well, it's not like you'd be letting her date anyone affiliated with the Big 10, Big 12, or Pac 12.
When my father was faced with my mother dating after their divorce, he just decided to re-marry her. That didn't end well either.
Isn't it ironic, don't you think....
I remember the guy she was dating at the time. He was younger than her - 24 to her 28 - and looked like a young Tom Berenger with a 70's 'stache. So I would say it was more insecurity than irony.
Ya know, sometimes life throws you a particularly unexpected Tom Berenger reference, and ya just gotta smile. Thanks for that!
on your cigarrette break. . .
Any way for Moncrief to appeal this?
Not sure through the NCAA, but I'm sure a media blitz if this caught on nationally or regionally, would put a lot of pressure on Auburn to change their mind. Kind of like when Arnett tried to transfer from UT and they said he couldn't go to UM or MSU with no reason given. Arnett won that in the end.
Yeah but Arnett had a family illness, which I'm sure played a majority part in the public outrage
