December 10th, 2011 at 2:50 PM ^
Could they throw in any more ads and fluff before the kickoff!?
December 10th, 2011 at 2:50 PM ^
Beat Army!
December 10th, 2011 at 2:52 PM ^
Just the way I like it.
December 10th, 2011 at 2:53 PM ^
Beat Navy!
Btw, both teams brought their own flyovers to this game. 'Merica
December 10th, 2011 at 2:56 PM ^
I'm ending every comment about the special stuff for Army/Navy with
/merica
Truly awesome, thanks for the inspiration, good sir.

LOL at Navy's leading rusher being Santiago. I wonder when he ships out for Cuba.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:04 PM ^
Go Army Beat Navy! I do love watching this game every year. I love the style of football they both play.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:07 PM ^
Go Navy, Beat Army! I know how the old Notre Dame president must have felt when he would say of the ND/Navy game, "Gee, I hope Navy wins one of these games. Just not this year." Army needs a win in this game. But not this year.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:09 PM ^
I look forward to this game every year, espically after I went down to Annapolis last year for Central's game down there, amazing atmosphere. Go Navy! Beat Army!
December 10th, 2011 at 3:10 PM ^
Seeing a game in Annapolis is certainly on my bucket list.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:12 PM ^
I also want to see one at Michie Stadium.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:19 PM ^
I want to see one at Michie now too. But yeah probably one of the coolest games I've ever been to, made up for losing on missed two-point conversion with :04 to go. Great Venue and surrounding area and the nicest opposing fans I have ever meet. Parked at a little church accross the street from the stadium then wandered the town looking for an update on the Michigan/Purdue game
December 10th, 2011 at 3:57 PM ^
Very cool, I was very close to going to West Point to play lacrosse but decided against it. It really is one of the greatest regrets I have in my life. I respect the hell out of these guys on both sides.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:11 PM ^
Obama providing color commentary. This is actually really cool (any personal feelings either way aside).
December 10th, 2011 at 3:17 PM ^
Way to dodge that bulletin Justin LOL
December 10th, 2011 at 3:24 PM ^
Without getting into it, Obama isn't someone I'm fawning over (not that there's anything wrong with that, just not my choice and don't want to talk about it here). I am a public policy student though, and this is a fantastic idea from whoever thought it up. Good enough that I wish I was still in Public Law and the Electoral Process so I could bring it up and talk about it in a more than just passing way. If he even stays for a half, it's an hour of free feel-good publicity in front of a presumably large military audience, someplace Obama has struggled, from everything I've read.
Long story short, I appreciate the intelligence of the move, even if it's not about to change my opinion on any policy decisions or the upcoming election.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:27 PM ^
If you are president it is certainly a game you don't want to miss. I was just poking fun about the political rules around here and you disclaimer in parentheses. It made me chuckle.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:29 PM ^
Yea, it's a fine line and as someone with...fringe?...views I can appreciate how delicate it can be sometimes. I'm not looking to get into a flamewar, so better safe than sorry is what I'll stick with.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:36 PM ^
Any person who fails to respect the office fails to respect this country. I am not a jingoist by any means, but there are certain things we as Americans must always respect. The President and the military are two of those. We may not always agree with the decisions or acts of the people who populate those positions/jobs, but we ought to revere the positions they hold.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:38 PM ^
Yea, my comment was basically just gushing over whichever campaign/PR/whatever random Obama advisor had the idea to put him in the booth for part of this game. Not trying to say anything about Obama other than he was smart to come.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:40 PM ^
who place ideology above country. These men do not.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:20 PM ^
Beats the hell out of Chris Spielman any day of the week.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:17 PM ^
Man I love Navy's uniforms! Those helmets are sweeeeet.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:26 PM ^
I don't know, man, the gold helmet is an icon of Army, Navy and Notre Dame. It's a bit like Nike procombating The Game.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:34 PM ^
The helmets look nice, but otherwise I despise the idea of the Army-Navy game being turned into Nike's uniform orgasm.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:47 PM ^
I'm not a fan either but I can see these being Navy's permanent helmets and they look good. It's possible Nike might be learning to enhance a uniforms characteristics rather than vomit out a bunch of random colors.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:23 PM ^
I really enjoy watching the wishbone. Not somthing you get to see every weekend.
December 10th, 2011 at 3:27 PM ^
both Army/Navy and several Mich/Ohio...granted, I'm biased towards Michigan and Army, but I'll say this:
Of "typical" rivalries, Michigan vs. Ohio has to be the greatest. But Army vs. Navy is not typical, and the atmosphere was just incredible. The feeling of mutual respect and absolute competition is not something ever experienced at a Michigan sporting event. Fierce isn't even the right word. It's something more. Michigan/Ohio is intensity, hatred, passion, and blood. Army/Navy is everything that is good about college sports.
Go Army!

Loved the submarine corps. commercial!
December 10th, 2011 at 3:54 PM ^
GO AIR FORCE, beat em both!!
December 10th, 2011 at 4:00 PM ^
+1000 to that!
December 10th, 2011 at 4:06 PM ^
Only tangentially related, but if you're around Annapolis and want to catch a spectacular event, stop by in the spring some time for the Annapolis Cup. It's an annual croquet match between the Naval Academy and St. John's College (a nearby small Great Books school). I went last year with some friends, and was really impressed. Several thousand people turned out for it, and everyone had a grand time.

Someone throw the ball. The defense won't know what hit em.
December 10th, 2011 at 4:10 PM ^
What do you know! Someone must have been listening.
December 10th, 2011 at 4:14 PM ^
Good Lord Danielson what the hell are you talking about?!
December 10th, 2011 at 4:14 PM ^
Should have had those replay officials at the Michigan game!
December 10th, 2011 at 5:35 PM ^
December 10th, 2011 at 5:39 PM ^
Is Danielson drunk? I swear he's said Navy when he's meant Army and visa versa at least once a series the whole second half

Go Middies.
Will raise a glass @ Dock Street (bar 100' from the gates of the Academy) if it's nice out tomorrow.
December 10th, 2011 at 7:01 PM ^
