Pretty diverse. Bakonydraco is one of the mods at r/cfb and he puts together a weekly "AP voter consistency" chart that shows presumed voter affiliation based on what paper they write for

FYI the overall diagram shows the ballot for each voter; the main point of the diagram is to show the voters that are most consistent with the majority at the top, vs. those who diverge the most at the bottom

I wonder how far PSU would have fallen if they'd won in 9OT.

They'd be the same damaged team that missed 5 consecutive 2 point attempts, but somehow I suspect they'd still be in the top 10.

Also kind of crazy they're ranked behind 2 loss Auburn - a team they beat.

College football is weird - and fun.

Oklahoma does look shakey. But Lincoln Riley knows how to work with QBs. There was a night and day difference between the 1st and 2nd half yesterday in his QB. The lack of experience with his QB is the wild card in the Top 4 to me. If he had been starting since game one, he would be playing more consistently, I think.

State is #26 in offense, #86 in defense.

They were outgained 442 to 254 by Nebraska, but still pulled out a win. And they were outgained 322 to 241 by Indiana, but still pulled out a win. They're flirting with disaster. They will probably lose to Michigan, Purdue, Ohio St, and Penn St., i.e, teams that are better than Indiana and Nebraska, the teams they beat by the skin of their teeth.

edit: Purdue is a toss up.

What to do with Cincinnati. They could be ranked 6-7 or 8 and those below them, move up one spot. That would put OSU at #4, U-M to #5 and maybe MSU to #7.

One more week of AP then the committee takes over on Nov 2nd.

U-M @ MSU and PSU @OSU on Saturday will shake up the polls come next Sunday.

No way cincy should be there.

Not even best team in their state.

If Bama climbs because of obvious appearance trumping one loss record, then Bearcats should drop by same reasoning.

Cincinnati struggled with Navy….a 1-6 Navy team. They were lucky to win.   I would be fine including a G5 team in the top 5 if they win all their contests in dominating, or at least a comfortable manner. But you can’t play cupcakes in almost all your games and then take a spot in the playoff from a P5 conference champ. That performance against Navy would have been an L against almost every big ten team. Cincinnati probably ends up with 3-4 losses if they were in the Big Ten this year.

Do you really think Oklahoma is a top 5 team? I'm not sure I do.  However I do agree that even good teams can struggle with the triple option especially if their defense isn't diciplined. Now another caveat here is how good is the triple option team. Some are better than others and Navy is 1-6, which is pretty bad.

Again it doesn't matter at this point because Oklahoma's days of reckoning are coming, but I'm only looking at first level data (like a pollster).

Alabama has a loss, and hasn't looked that impressive to me otherwise combined with their loss to an unranked team doesn't warrant them jumping an undefeated (8-0) Oklahoma.

Michigan has no wins against a currently ranked team and Oklahoma has a win in a rivalry game, on the road against a ranked Texas.

Cincinnati- you can go by this weekend against a service academy, or look at the schedule as it is as a whole.

Oklahoma has benefitted from the QB change, but has a pretty stout back end schedule so only time will tell, but I I can reason why they should be @ #3 at this particular week of the season.

Your top 8 looks right IMO. But after Georgia Alabama closely followed by OSU are the scariest two teams. With separation between 3 and 4, 4 through 8 all with flaws and not much separation between them based on what I've seen so far.

4. Cincinnati, 5. Michigan, 6. Oklahoma, 7. Oregon, 8. MSU.

I wouldn't be surprised if three or more of my 4 to 8 teams are not in the top ten at the end of the season.
