Aidan Chiles officially transferring to MSU

No surprise here, but it is now official.  I really don't understand how he is ranked as the #1 transfer QB by some, but he is a big get regardless. Played well in garbage time as a freshman. Was #152 overall, #12 QB in the 2023 247 composite. #58 overall in 247's non-composite rankings.

I don't care about the Big Ten, especially after just about every coach and AD in threw a massive bitchfit and joined in on the smear campaign against Michigan.

The Big Ten sucked farts through a straw this year, and yet Michigan sits ranked #1 in the country. Michigan doesn't need the Big Ten to do anything. They just need to take care of their own business.

Hard to believe what the actual story is here as there is so much anti-McCord stuff spewing from the OSU fanbase.

Depending on who you believe - A. -McCord's dad forced Day to make him the starter last year or risk transfer even though Brown was clearly better.  B. McCord's dad is overbearing and wanted big $$ or assurances to stay into 2024. -- C.  McCord knew he was leaving OSU even before the M game.  D.  McCord and father wanted $3MM from Nebraska -- E.  McCord is afraid of competition from Raiola and thus passed on Nebraska.   I would guess the truth is something else..

Sparty fans are more hyped for this kid than they were for Noah Kim when he took over for Peyton Thorne, who they were super fired up for after he stepping in for Rocky Lombardi who they thought would compete for a Heisman when he took the reigns from Brian Lewerke.

It's weird how they keep saying their next QB is gonna be the guy.

Chiles went 24-35 with 4 touchdowns on the year, which is a great stat for a single game, but could he maintain even close to these numbers an entire season?  Oregon State also had a better OL than UCLA.  I am no expert at all, and 99% of the people on can recognize talent much better than I can, but having Chiles in the top 3 transfer portal players seems too high.

Will the latest NCAA lawsuit mean Chiles can play in their bowl game? Fake Edit: Never mind.

More fallout from Tucker's extracurriculars. We should have had eight more years to enjoy his coaching expertise.

It is too bad that MeLLLLLLLL was such a Neanderthal.   They seem to have Sparty No'ed themselves into a competent coach and quality QB.

I don't care who their coach is, in the new Big Ten they are going to be way down on the pecking order regardless. And you need more than a QB, they currently have very little talent on that roster around him. And honestly quality QB isn't even a sure thing given the small sample size.

Considering that all three QBs left, that makes the addition of one a vast improvement, relatively speaking, no? This is, of course, before we talk about existing data on this guy....

He's a talented guy who should be good at MSU but yeah, not sure he's the #1 QB out there in terms of producing next year.  I guess the fact he's a multi-year player pays off, but even then Maalik Murphy feels as talented with as much an upside.

Also, for reference the top QB in the portal last year was Sam Hartman, who was...fine at ND.
