The mess at Michigan

So we were slightly more successful than DashCon?  Hooray.  Hope someone brought a ball pit.

Thank you Internet for giving us a forum to collectively overreact about relatively inconsequential shit.  MGoBoard has looked more and more like Reddit with all the Internets outrage lately.  Has Shane expressed outrage over the way he was treated?  Has his family?  Has any other players on the team?  Their families?  No?  Just the people who are in no way directly affected by the conduct at issue then?  Wake me up when this is over.

It's always been about wins and losses, which are the objective measure of the incompetence of the coaching staff/administration to a fair degree.  But there remains some need with the fans to create villains out of people they want to see fired, as if "jus cause" can't be that they suck at their jobs and haven't beaten anyone from a Power-5 conference not named Northwestern in about a year.

It is a witch hunt, but I guess the thinking around various parts of the internet is that if it means more immediate satisfaction it is worth it.

Really? I didn't see any semblance of strike over academic scandal or the tattoo scandal. So, Students gathering to show their disapproval is all about winning? Hey, they should be outraged that ND and OSU students were not outraged.

May be it was about wins and losses, but at least we did something. ND and OSU students can't say that now. Can they?

I don't think that overhead view on ESPN did it justice. I was pretty impressed by the footage from the Daily. Took a while to get going, but it was much better than I thought it would be.

Just FYI so everyone knows, the video of the ralley they showed was from the 6 o'clock recording, same with that entire UM bit so the pictures that you've seen are more recent than that video.

how he plays off that we are trying to win the game when we are not. Then Funchess gets hurt twice in those garbage hours where we obviously not going for the win. Then he doesn't wear a headset and then say he didn't see Shane wobbling all over the field. The fact the players aren't progressing as players is another problem. So Kirk is just the fact that we are not winning is the reason to fire Hoke then you don't know the situation so you should keep your mouth shut if you don't know what your talking about.

Not for everyone. I truly was and still am disgusted by what happened with Shane. That was so hard for me to watch. It doesn't matter to me if we were 12-0 at this point and the next guy in at qb was matt wile.... There is no way Morris should've been in that game after the headshot. I do not accept that not one person on that fucking sideline saw what was happening. How isn't there someone chiming in on Nuss's headset from the booth and screaming for the timeout so Morris could be attended to?? Concussions are no joke and I couldn't believe some people actually thought he didn't suffer one.

I think this incident is the latest in Diamond Dave not being transparent, and pissing the fanbase off because we know he is not being transparent. Regardless of what happens to Hoke, I do not want David Brandon as an AD. And whether you believe Hoke was telling the truth as he knew it (even though he should have known) or he lied - the fact that the real truth was not reported like Sunday is on the AD.

As for Hoke - he needs to evolve or move on as well. He was ultimately responsible for Shane playing with a "probable" concussion, and he is responsible for a losing football record.

I disagree with this. You are probably right about Michigan fans not protesting/being up in arms, but the ESPN announcers for the game were absolutely appalled by the Morris incident, and they don't give a shit about Michigan's record. If we were 5-0, there would probably be more of a "Michigan tries to win at any cost" vibe in the MSM, because concussions are a big deals these days and it still would have gotten some air.

They did not show up? This has been an ongoing problem that the AD has not been able to fix.  Fire him..  The chant " down with Dave" , I thought being 'down' with something was a good thing, no?

Daily coverage was good hopefully the news outlets will pickup the video to show the speeches and marching on the president's house. All in all not bad a bad protest considering.

If you watched the MichiganDaily livestream it seemed to be 400-500 people there at least at its cresendo. At one point during the broadcast chants from students on the lawn were overtaken by those behind and easily 200 hundred stood on Schlissle's doorstep.

This is bad, very bad, the protesting and what not has made it worse IMO. It may not be the main reason but it adds to how we are a laughing stock now and for the future time being. I do think a lot are doing this just to get hike fired. Sorry I feel that way. He's over his head no doubt, but this has become a carnival...embarrassing, couple this with another beat down this weekend...can't wait.
