An NCAA ref makes $1,000 per game for the opening rounds and up to $2,000 per game for later rounds, minus their hotel and travel expenses (which these guys have already partially shelled out).  So basically they had a dinner that cost them  something like $15-20,000, since they were probably going to work multiple games.  Hope it was good.

I miss TV Teddy.  Excepting  the histrionics.  He called good games.

Other leagues agree, he did the ACC Title game and looked fine

I know I'm in the minority opinion and probably wrong , but he was one of the few not intimidated  by Izzo

The downside of TV Ted not being intimidated by Izzo (or anyone else) was that he showed bravado because it put him on TV, front and center, and he knew it.  The games, well called or not, were always a ref show with him.  He had to be in the picture and part of the attention, if not at the center of it all.  That's the part the nobody likes...

Refs should just be part of the scenery.  Keep the game clean and GTFO of the way...

But the lights, the bright TV lights-is there a way to bring those inside the body?  Or inject some
Dr. Pepper (The official soft drink of the NCAA) to kill the virus?

After hearing all the "why can't we open up mommy, indiana is having da big dance" comments this gets a big eyeroll. "The kids will bubble up and be responsible". Sure. It's Indiana for chrissakes. Mike Pence. Would you get a few refs sick for a billion dollar tournament especially when the tournament got cancelled last year? Hell yes you would.

One NCAA referee tested positive.  The others are out because of tracing.

To try to make a point about public policy because one guy caught the virus is a reach.  If anything, it seems that their protocol is working.  Everyone close to the one official has been sent home as a precaution.

Let's keep in mind that the point of all these Covid restrictions is to ensure that the hospitals aren't overwhelmed, not to prevent literally all infections from ever happening.

I hope Ted will have no symptoms from COVID. He's not the best ref in the B1G. Also, I hope he will not be responsible for any B1G players of teams to withdraw as a result of contact tracing.

I do not know what teams/games he refed at in the B1G Tourny.
