Of course the weather has been awesome and now is when it's going to turn right before a kid who many think wants to play in the south.
Sucks he wasn't here for the Washington night game weekend.

Most Michigan response ever when we get good news about a big time recruit.

Weather, weather everywhere.

Especially inside Crisler Arena!

At least he's not coming in in the next few days when we're going to be getting Biblical-type rains and potential flooding.

"Storm of the Century" - seems like we have 3 - 4 of those every year.

Storm of the century of the month

Loved it as a kid, growing up in Bloomfield/Birmingham, when there was a torrential downpour in late summer.... my backyard had an offshoot of the Rouge River, and the entire backyard became the river itself.... we would try to use something as a canoe, and sail down it through the backyards.... parents gave up yelling at us because it was so much fun. But had to watch out for the snapping turtles.

He’s likely to be on campus less than 12 months. I doubt weather will be a factor.
September 21st, 2021 at 9:36 AM ^
Since when is weather is a consideration for basketball players? I mean, the basketball season is pretty much entirely during the winter, IIRC.
September 21st, 2021 at 9:41 AM ^
And usually indoors!

I'm pretty sure that weather impacts more than just the basketball season. You still have to (allegedly) walk to class, park your car.....things like that. And it's nice to see the sun between November and April. Weather can matter.
That being said, I don't think that this week's rain will have much of an impact. I remember that Mitch McGary loved his visit during a monsoon at a football game.
September 21st, 2021 at 3:26 PM ^
Odds are very high that Mitch was also.

Sport? Position?
“Big man” means maybe basketball?
September 21st, 2021 at 5:25 AM ^
I'm sure it's for the men's gymnastics team.

Saxophonist, marching band.

Big man, wouldn't that be a sousaphone player?

piccolo
Otherwise: Traore would be the crown jewel of this class and continue the upward trajectory of Michigan basketball. If next year Michigan has Diabate, Tschetter, Reed and Traore on the roster to man the 4 & 5 along with all the skill, athleticism and shooting at 2 and 3 and the playmaking at the 1...this will be a most dynamic team.
Something tells me that having a big like Juwan who can look these taller recruits straight in the eye holds some advantages.

It’s gotta be wrestling. Think Wilt Chamberlain against a ring full of midgets.
September 21st, 2021 at 6:56 AM ^
Domani Jackson thread didn’t mention his sport or position either….
September 21st, 2021 at 8:31 AM ^
At 6'10", 225 might not be ideal for a center, hard to get pad leverage and move 334 pound nose tackles but he is a 5 star.
September 21st, 2021 at 12:12 PM ^
this literally made me buss out laughing! Kudos to you, Sir!

If you don't know who Yohan Traore is, that's on you

Basketball player…PF who would play alongside Tarris reed

Why a long way to go? Lively just committed. Has he said he's taking time to decide? Just wondering why we can't close the deal this weekend
September 21st, 2021 at 11:56 AM ^
I believe it's been said he's in no rush and would decide in the spring, but he may also be able to graduate early and possibly declare for the draft, so somethings are still in the air.

Looking back, Juwan securing Franz Wagner was huge. After Coach Beilein left it wasn’t a foregone conclusion that Franz would be in AA. Since then Juwan has been kicking ass on the recruiting trail and that will continue throughout his tenure.

Let’s Go Blue!!!
September 21st, 2021 at 9:16 AM ^
Someone (EJ Holland maybe?) said he might be eligible for the NBA draft this year. This is going to be an especially interesting one to watch this year.
September 21st, 2021 at 9:17 AM ^
I'm stunned at how well Juwan and Co. have recruited - hopefully they can stay in the Top 10 of rankings each year. Then again, JB (John Beilein, NTJB) did as much with less, and Juwan has shown he's an elite coach (and has an elite staff).

If Traore does make it on campus, that is definitely great news.
No guarantee of anything, however, for a kid that probably doesn't know a lot about US CBB, getting him on campus is a big step.
I am sure that he knows the Dukes/Kentucky/UNC of the world, but Michigan's profile, historically, has not been as high.
Gotta get Moussa to show him around campus
crossing my fingers as this would be a huge add to the program
September 21st, 2021 at 3:30 PM ^
I'm pretty sure recruits, even international ones, are fully aware of Michigan's profile as a premier basketball school in the premier conference over the last decade.
September 21st, 2021 at 10:40 AM ^
I believe Colin Smith is supposed to be on campus as well this weekend.
Jett Howard and Greg Glenn were on campus last weekend
September 21st, 2021 at 11:50 AM ^
I'm not so sure about that Jett Howard committing. I mean, what could possibly draw that kid to Michigan?

I hope he has a great time!

Huge if Traore
September 21st, 2021 at 12:54 PM ^
Man, this basketball team is so fun! Imagine what would happen if we ever got a football team that was half decent...
September 21st, 2021 at 1:26 PM ^
Jett should walk on provided you don’t miss out on campus life amenities.
Dad can afford it. Advantage Michigan.
September 21st, 2021 at 2:38 PM ^
Seems like there was a video out several months ago about another Traore going BLUE.
September 21st, 2021 at 2:59 PM ^
Has a chance to be the greatest Yohan in the annals of Michigan sports history.
