"Sometimes When You're On: 2010." It's time. We need this.

Submitted by shorts on

I admit that I don't really have 200 words to meet the diary limit. I'm relying on this note from Brian at the bottom of the requirements section:

Something that requires effort you would like to keep around for posterity's sake should be a diary.

Trust me, I put plenty of work into this. I can't take any more of the emo posts about Beilein and RichRod and the NCAA investigation and "How many games does RR need to win to keep his job" and so on and so forth. We need something more WOO FOOTBALL and less WHY DOES LIFE HATE US?!?

With spring practice ready to start, hopefully this gives everybody a few warm fuzzies and gets you excited again about what we can be. I present to you "Sometimes When You're On: 2010" (and yes, this is the only appropriate song at this point for a Michigan football highlight video):

The resolution option isn't showing up for me yet, but it should be available in HD. Enjoy. Be happy. Go Blue.

To steal a fellow Mgoblogger's signature (sorry, I can't remember whose it is):

"When your team is winning, be ready to be tough, because winning can make you soft. On the other hand, when your team is losing, stick by them. Keep believing!" - Bo Schembechler.

This is something I'd like to see at the end of August. Not at the beginning of March. Urge to drink. Rising. Rising. EDIT: Please stop negging. I liked the video, I just don't like it 7 months before the start of the season. kthxbi

Those first two minutes were painful, but the next two made it all worth the pain. I hope this translates to real life...with the minutes being seasons...if anybody gets where im going with this...

Agreed. His hit in the Michigan State game was definitely one of the main highlights of last year... I think he was probably trying to focus on guys who would still be here this year though. Another appropriate play that could have been shown at the beginning was the 3rd and 24 (?) in the Iowa game. Definitely one of the low points in the year.

Right, it's all guys who are returning in 2010. So all the defensive plays were Van Bergen, Roh and Martin (which says a lot about our linebackers).

gives me chills and hope. Absolutely amazing. Edit: I brought work home that I really should start doing but I seriously can't stop watching this video.

And I got chills when Mathews caught the TD against ND in a flash of living color. But PLEASE, no more morose Hype Videos. This year we need something that breaks down doors, kicks some asses, and grabs the Damsel in Distress for some nookie.

Loved the video last year, and I'm sure I'll enjoy this one when I'm at home and away from the work filter, but I think I want this year to be something along the lines of "you fuck with me and you fuck with death." Death Wolverines, with opponent's innards spilling out of vast, tooth-filled maws.

The past can be so painful, but each time I watch it I hope for a different outcome because the last two years are so foreign to me. Like mattbern wrote, may the minutes be like the seasons and the next two ablaze in color and success. It's the stuff of my dreams. Thant song will be forever linked to UM football for me.

Its nice to have some positive feeling for a few minutes in what is such a rough year sports-wise. Plus I had forgotten about Odoms awesome freaking block on Denard's run against Western. He wails on some guy, gets up and is right behind Denard when he hits the end zone, just awesome awesome effort. Aug

You and whoever made the video last year did an awesome job. Every time I watch it I find tears in my eyes. I love U of M football so fucking much, I can't wait until September! GO BLUE!!

1: It's been said before, but it bears repeating... WE. WILL. BE. A. F**KING. MACHINE. 2: We have speed. Holy SHIT do we have speed. Speed + experience is going to equal success very soon. Also, is it football season yet? When do practices start? When can I see them? I CANNOT WAIT!

At the very least it could replace Neil Diamond in the RAWK music... Edit: Now that would be student section profanity I would endorse...Press box cuts off the music, and the students go "YOU'RE REALLY, FUCKIN' ON...!!"

plus 20 pounds. The O line with another year of experience. Speed to burn all over the field. The D with a second year under the same D coordinator. I truly believe that great things are on the way. I simply cannot wait for 2010!

Great work man! When this losing is all over, we will still remember Rilo Kiley...what I can hardly wait for is the victory video when we finally get "on" for good...perhaps we can get the band to produce a "we're on, lose the switch" song for us :)
