so much for that
How long until we are back in the national spotlight
...sturner9 was a member for all of one hour and four minutes prior to this post.
Yeah, I saw that. Hence the suggestion that we require people to be members for a while before posting diaries. I understand that they're supposed to be your "personal blog" but we're still all forced to look at them on the front page.
Exactly! Unfortunately, this isn't the only case of this happenning recently. I know some members have excellent diaries as first posts, but that seems to be the exception rather than the rule. To solve this, I think the best solution is to impose a restriction that doesn't allow new members to post a diary for somewhere between a week and a month allowing them to get acquainted with the style of posting that usually happens here.
Yeah, 90 days might be a much for this board, just because if you join at the beginning of the season you can't get full access until after it's done. Something along those lines would be nice though, and I'm sure Brian's thought about it (and read about it on this board as we've been talking about it every time there's a terrible post).
sorry guys I probably will not be posting for a while. You guys should be happy about that. However, next time I will

before I post again. I didn't know that the post was going to be put on here like that. I just signed up and never read through the site before.
Yeah. He joined an hour and a half ago, and his only points are from this diary. Hopefully he'll take the hint from the comments and never do this again.
Why can they take shots at us and we just take it we need to gat back at them.
I can't tell if this is a stupid typo/misspelling or clever use of the word/slang "gat" following a metaphor.
I think your giving the OP too much credit. Somehow I don't think clever and what he posted have anything in common.
Hopefully we will begin to see some positive results from our new choach this season.
to earn back the serious respect.
Less talk and decisive wins is the only sure fire cure.
A simple test of proofreading.....
Not to pile on, but I love the "choach R" comment.
Makes me think of Chachi, Charles in Charge, and what kind of offense Scott Baio would run....
No radio. Nothing of value.
Yes. The MGoBlog Proofreading Aptitude Test (or MGBPAT) must be put into effect as soon as possible.
Question one: I saw ______ car as they drove by.
A) They're
B) Their
C) There
You're mistake... you forgot the correct answer. I don't want to be a dick, so I'll just throw the answer in for you.
D) No Change.
I can only continue to reference the fact that I live in an onion factory.
true Michigan fans a break on grammar and spelling. I like dinging trolls on it though. Anyway dude, I just laughed my ass clean off when I read your post.
Hoke bitches...Hoke.
Question one: I saw ______ car as they drove by.
A) They're
B) Their
C) There
D) Thair
If its anything like the GMAT, I'm f***ed!
Oh man I hope there's no math
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. - Ephesians 6:11
There's no math, but you might have to pass a Rorschach test. The first one's just a big circle, and the correct answer is Charlie Weis.
While I also believe we have two pretty good choaches, we must remember that they have totally different approaches (choaches with approaches) that are vastly different from previous choaching regimes and not only are they building from scratch, but a LOT of other changes are going on at the same time--infrastructure changes that leaves choaches having to tell recruits, "Just wait till this stuff is done! Looky here--here are some pictures of what it will look like"
Choach Rodriguez is also facing a negative recruiting and negative press that has plenty of ammo and has been voracious in undermining what he has been trying to do--and much of it was beyond his control, like the infighting at UM HQ that is widely being rumored on some of the "pay sites."
I think you worry first about real, visible improvement, wins and losses--a steadying of the ship, if you will, at first, beginning with a respectable record this year and a bowl game. As far as the national spotlight, UM hasn't been in a terribly positive national spotlight very much over the last decade other than some bowl victories, especially the Florida game.
I do have one suggestion for the OP: There is a "message board" to post ideas that are more of the "fishing type"--such as this one. I mean, it's probably the same kind of thread you've (and 16 zillionty forty eleven hundred others) have started on Scout or Rivals, and it's probably the same question you've asked about 80 hundred forty gillion people on the street--so do it here, too!
Diaries are sacred posting space, and space from which to get it right, or get plastered.
That being said, it is what it is.
does someone think that "choach" is the correct spelling of "coach"? The word "coach" is a notch more difficult than "cat" or "dog". Anyway, sturner sounds like a troll. "Winningest program in the world"? Fan since "the day I came out of my mom"? Okay.
Hoke bitches...Hoke.
when you wrote this post?
I'll answer.
This year.
Other than that, I can't be sure. Maybe next year, or 2011. 2012 for sure. Or maybe not.
if he went to his first ND game at 5 and has been to every ame since 1985 (that's a lot of road games), he's 29 at the minimum. That's a scary thought, since he has the right to vote and operate a motor vehicle out on our roads.
And wouldn't the other end of the spotlight be behind the source of illumination? makee no sense.
Needing to have 20 points to write diaries is one of my 2 biggest problems with the point system and by far the easiest one to fix. Not only do we get bad diaries but there have been some diaries that were posted as diaries instead of board topics just because the poster lacked the necessary points.
I would like to second that Diaries should be limited to people who have at least a certain # of points and maybe have been a member for a certain period of time.
Also as nice as the AL CENTRAL post was today - I think that diaries should at least be related to Michigan, college sports, or the university in general... and not just a midwest based baseball division. A nice posting like the AL Central one can be a MGoboard creation.
Also, I know that certain PRO teams are generally more popular on this website - but we don't need daily posts that go: OT: Marcus Thames is 0-2 discuss.
'Cause I Bleed Blue...
Tell us more about coming out of your mom
I really do. And this is only a suggestion. I think you should read more and write less for two years. Read a lot, and from many sources. That will fix you right up.
Also, Bo was a non-Michigan man when he got here. As was Yost.
When I was a kid, we didn't have the intranets. Research consisted of picking up an encyclopedia and rewriting it, verbatim, and urning that in as an "essay" or a "report." And you didn't have o do any "citing."
That's what I'd suggest to not just the OP< but many young kids who write so poorly. I really believe that copying from encyclopedias, books, or magazines back then helped us become ingrained with at least decent writing.
Now to the OP--aside from reading for two years, I am assigning you the book of "G" from Encyclopedia (Whatever). You are to copy the entire book, or books, of "G" word for word, and then you may post again.
That being said, it is what it is.
I think you should repost this, except you should write it without paragraphs AND without periods.
Joppru For Heisman
....of anyone who was actually able to read the entire OP.
WTF: does this guy have any fucking concept of white space? My eyes still hurt from trying to read the first five(thankfully short) sentences. Maybe he is better at math than English.
Bad grammar + bad spelling + no white space = shitty post.
BUT WE NEED DOODS LIke sTUrneR BEING LLLOOUUUDDD!!!!!!! AT THE BIG HOUSE!
ROCK ON STURNER!!!!!!!!!!!! You are my BRO FOR I TOO WAS IN YOUR MOM;s VAG!!!!!!
M FANS UniTE!!!
Linebacker Quintin Tucker (6-2, 235) from San Diego (Calif.) Scripps Ranch is a player to watch this coming fall. He didn't get a chance to play a full season as a junior due to CIF transfer rules, but he was impressive in the amount of time that he did play.
And the sad thing is that a great diary like the 2002 recruiting analysis or the impact of 'Bama's oversigning will be pushed off faster because of this.
Those were a ton of work, and this...
It never occurred to me until now but maybe our stadium is too big.
We have been and are in the national spotlight, just not the correct end of it.
OkiGoBlue

Exhibit A on why we need to have a period of time or point restriction on who can write diaries. Or an age limit.
