In all honesty, I'd like for you to stay and to make valuable contributions. But, I think maybe take a week off from posting and just lurk, and get used to how the site works (e.g. most one-word comments that say "Lol" are bad). You have plenty of time to reach 100 points before May if that is your goal, no need for so many comments to artificially raise your score. I mean, I've made like 10 comments in the last year but I still read everyday, so it is still possible to participate and have fun with less commenting.I, for one, was legitimately surprised that you had an actual positive goal in mind for reaching 100 points. From your posting habits it seemed like maybe you were trying to get 100 points so you could troll. I don't want to discourage anyone from participating here. I want to stress how important getting to know the lay of the land is before jumping into posting for many people.

I also might recommend having a running diary rather than a new post each day if you do your countdowns as well, so it is all in one place and only shows up once. For what it is worth, I think your picture that you uploaded is actually pretty cool, and your idea could certainly be interesting over the summer if it is well done. I also think you can make it well done if you hang around and understand the personalities here.

Could we include the number of times the player has been tagged in a post, as an additional (though incredibly flawed) interesting metric to gauge how much of an impact they had on the blog?

Check out the PowerPrep software available directly from the GRE website. They offer a practice test or two, using real test questions. No, really, at least a couple of the questions on that test were on my actual GRE. It is also valuable to get a feel for how the questions change as you go along in the test, as the next question is influenced by your performance on the previous one. It can be easy to psyche yourself out when you see an easy question pop up, and this helped me get used to that and not think about it too much. The computer program is the exact same as the one on the real test, so you will be familiar with it. Also, they have a list, somewhere on that site, of every essay question that they have that they could ask. It is pretty long, but will give you an idea of how the questions are shaped in general.

 

One of my essays on the test was to critique an argument made in a made up essay. The argument was basically that in 1910 there were 8 species of some rodent in Yellowstone park, and now in 1995 there are only 3 species of that rodent, so therefore environmental pollution is contributing greatly to global warming.  I'm pretty sure I could have written forever about that one.
