Big win; Houstan and Johns combined for 0-15 from the floor. Add no HD and this could easily have been a 20+++ blowout loss. Lotsa guys came up really big.
Damn, Houstan must be a hell of a practice player.
He didn't shoot well, obviously, but this was one of the best defensive outings he's had.
This statement is simultaneously super concerning and super encouraging.
Pretty sure Houstan also blew the block out on the FT miss with under a minute to go that resulted in a 4-point possession for them.
It probably should be added that he did make some big plays defensively.

Three Stars:
3. Devante Jones - took a while but now owns the keys to this offense. If he can continue to make outside shots his game gets really tough to guard.
2. Terrance Williams - kept the team in the game in the first half. Just took Brandon Johns minutes.
3. Kobe Bufkin - three point shot that sealed the game.
On to the BIG10 tourney. Hope we get to fuck up Wisconsin.
I think Eli gets at least part of that 3rd star after how clutch he was in the 2nd half: 5-for-5 from the stripe and 12 second-half points, perfect on in-bounding the ball, our co-leader in rebounds with 7, and should have had many many more assists if only Houstan and Johns hadn't gone a collective 0-15 shooting.

If Michigan State loses to Maryland, they would be a 7 seed. 8 seed if MSU wins.
MSU owns the tie-breaker so if MSU wins vs Maryland this afternoon they have the 7th seed.
In the grand scheme of things and seeding, I'd rather have the 8th seed if Wisconsin beats Nebraska, if not, the other way around.

Wonderful to see Jones finally become that player most of us thought he would when he came in. It just took a while longer. I was one of many doubters after the first half of the season. But glad he's the Man at PG.
No kidding! I thought the lights were too bright for him. That and the sudden onset RA of the knees he appeared to be afflicted with to start the season. It definitely took a bit, but he's the man now and he might be the key to us lasting into the second week of the tourney...
Great defense today. So many points after picking OSU's pocket and fast breaking it. That was the difference in this game. Then just good solid team play on the offensive end. Not sure what role not having Hunter playing on the defensive end had on the great defensive play. Hats off to Martelli on a well coached game.
It’s definitely interesting about the D. Played a strong defensive game against Illinois without Hunter as well.

It is not a coincidence that in two games without him, Michigan has held two very good offenses (ILL and OSU) to under 70 points on the road.
Thank goodness his offense was barely missed today though. Huge games from Jones and Williams.
Clutch win without Dickinson and a bit of a ref show in the 2nd half. This Michigan over OSU in big games to end the season is a trend I can get on board with.
A bit of a ref show? The last 10 min were a one sided show in OSU's favor including not even blowing the play dead for an injured player. UM point black almost had this one stolen by the refs.

Perhaps someone else pointed it out, but did tOSU lose because of snow?
Officials pre-game meeting: 1. No fouls called on Liddell unless massive hemorrhaging occurs. 2. Any defender who dares to guard Liddell within 3 feet gets whistled.
3. If he elbows a Michigan player in the head, it's "inadvertent" and play on.
Liddell drew 10 fouls and had 0 fouls before intentionals per um hoops…. Wow … what a win!
