Indiana 80, Michigan 67 Comment Count

This was nearly the entire recap. [Bryan Fuller/MGoBlog]

I can't fully capture the noise this fan made. A guttural wail, as if Chewbacca had been stabbed in the heart, or a baby elephant had suffered a collapsed lung. It was the sound of a soul forcefully leaving a man's body.

Michigan had a 10:29 scoreless drought in this game, Indiana went on a 28-0 run, and that noise emanated from the seats behind press row. Let's try this sports thing again tomorrow.

Thought the hype of all the celebrities sucked for us tonight ... too much home-court pressure. Plus what the fuck was John Harbaugh wearing - an IU hat and all that IU gear ... his picture was plastered all over everything on ESPN. Dude, have the respect to a least wear something neutral. I understand the family thing, but you are not at IU so show some fucking respect. Not very impressed. John can stay the fucking home wherever he is from.

This is a perfect setup for playing Sparty.  Michigan will be pissed and Sparty will be overconfident.  I said earlier that I would be happy with 1-1 this week as long as the win was over Sparty.  It still goes.

This was the worst 13 point loss I've ever watched. My eyes hurt. I have a pit in my stomach. I'm disgusted. Tomorrow, please please be a good day and help me forget.

In retrospect, this should not have suprised anyone.  We've been blown out by every good team we've faced except Maryland.

Well they're in first place, have won 14 of 15, and they're ranked.  I would call that a good team.

But fine.  Except for Maryland, we've been blown out by every good team and one pretty good team.

the second half wasn't any better. Man, this team can play some wretched defense. Beilein better get it fixed before Saturday night or JH will have to take the junior recruits bowling instead.

Yeah that was bad. Move on and play with more intensity against MSU and hope they don't go on a 28-0 run where they make everything and we miss everything. Hoping Levert is good to go on Saturday, we'll need him.

UM might be better but was this really just an off night?

UM didn't exactly set the world on fire against Minny, Rutgers or PSU.  They happened to win those games but not too many people were saying UM played very well in those games.  You could say that UM hasn't really been playing that good for a couple weeks, and they were able to get away with it until tonight because they were playing the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the Big Ten.

but as we've seen against SMU, Xavier and Iowa, we can't defend athletic teams. And since Beilein doesn't seem inclined to recruit athletic big men, this type of result is frequently to be expected.
