So according to a completely unfounded rumor on twitter Bob Stoops has been offered the Michigan job.

Is DB trying to make U of M look like a laughing stock? Nobody wants this job so here's Brady.
This will be the worst recruiting class ever for Michigan and to think we had three of the top 70 players in the country, Dee, Frost, and Zettel, waiting to commit pending our coach. Crawford's coach, Redhead, is saying the only chance we have with him is if we hire someone who was recruiting Dallas-LM. Redhead was extremely pro Michigan, but hates DB's timeline as it gives the released coaches no chance of getting a job for next year. Not to mention leaving one of his stars out in the cold.
Even if Miles is hired, Louisiana players aren't going to desert LSU for Michigan. In all reality, Miles has a ton of talent coming back and is set for a possible run at the NC if he stays. Not so much so if he comes here and there will be little help in 2012 as this year's recruiting class is rapidly becoming weaker. With Fisher and Posada talking of looking elsewhere is it possible we only end up with one OLineman again this year? That wouldn't bode well for the future.

If all you said comes true, it will be another hard couple years for us. I'm just holding onto this little sliver of hope that everything turns out somewhat ok and not apocalyptic.

Look, after 3-9, 5-7 and 7-6 seasons we all can understand that doom and gloom over not having the perfect coach immediately available after last Wednesday's RR firing has launched MGOBLOG into a state of utter panic.
However, little hard to predict what is going to happen until we actually get a coach. Did anyone forsee the 3-9 and 5-7 seasons back when we hired RR in 2007/8?

sometime tomorrow i'm going to add the Victors to the back of this. then it will be complete...
January 10th, 2011 at 2:11 AM ^
That would be epic.
January 10th, 2011 at 1:52 AM ^
Definitely meh.
January 10th, 2011 at 1:54 AM ^
also called Bob Stoops was last seen wearing a Michigan Sweatshirt.
Should I rejoice?
January 10th, 2011 at 1:55 AM ^
He has to pee sitting down when Les Miles is in the room
January 10th, 2011 at 1:57 AM ^
LOL
Best post of the night.
I'd +1 if I could.
January 10th, 2011 at 2:00 AM ^
I heard he just stoops down a little in fear....
January 10th, 2011 at 1:56 AM ^
What are Bill Cowher and Bill Parcells doing? When will they be reportedly considered for the job?
January 10th, 2011 at 8:20 AM ^
I don't think Ditka and Buddy Ryan are busy right now. Maybe they'd want to get the band back together.
January 10th, 2011 at 1:56 AM ^
Wednesday, til we name our new coach...
i say under.

I'll believe ya when me shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbet.
January 10th, 2011 at 2:28 AM ^
Dude, you're eating your own shit?
January 10th, 2011 at 2:00 AM ^
Seriously doubt it, but if true, we've REALLY become ND. Fuck.

That twitter account claims to be the official Michigan Football twitter, was created today, and the above was its second tweet. I shouldn't have posted and given credence to their rumor-mongering, but it was too tempting.
My apologies. Feel free to delete and punish me accordingly.
January 10th, 2011 at 2:23 AM ^
And that twitter message was based on a joke on an OU message board that Stoops would go to Michigan, I assume because he comes up in rumors for every major program with a coaching vacancy. So please, just neg me and delete the thread.
January 10th, 2011 at 2:07 AM ^
I'm in the Middle East for work and all I seem to be doing is refreshing the MGOblog app hoping for a modicum of actual news. What makes it worse is that I can only get a wifi signal in the bathroom of my hotel room. So I've had to spend an inordinate amount of time sitting on a toilet reading and rereading these boards. Somehow it all seems worth it. Please someone take the coaching job.

What about this, though: Michigan AD is expected to interview LSU's Les Miles this week- Detroit News

Teh evah-populah drahmahtic tehveh cat.

I don't trust any news about our program coming out of Detroit.

From Tulsa World Sports Extra
http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/OU/article.aspx?subjectid=92&arti…
'...Bob Stoops could be left with 89 scholarship players.
The NCAA limit is 85, so Stoops would have to get creative, or he would need some help.
Stoops doesn't sound worried.
"We always have attrition," he said, "and there's always issues."'
January 10th, 2011 at 4:58 AM ^
clearly, this article MEANS THAT STOOPS MOLESTS CHILDREN AND IS MORALLY UNFIT TO COACH MICHIGAN.
January 10th, 2011 at 5:33 AM ^
Interesting thought. Likely won't happen.
I think I'll go wake up Fritz Crisler and see if he can advise us here....
January 10th, 2011 at 6:39 AM ^
I'm not asking this rhetorically, so if someone has a thought, please respond. First there was the ND rumor and then the rumor about Michigan. Why would Stoops go anywhere? Oklahoma pays him well, he recruits really well, and the job has a great deal of tradition and prestige.
January 10th, 2011 at 8:22 AM ^
he would get the chance to play Nebraska regularly!
January 10th, 2011 at 8:11 AM ^
seeing the postings end at 2:30 am and promptly resume just before sunrise makes me feel much better for updating myself before i get dressed for work as if anything has changed since i hibernated the laptop and said my prayers at midnight (LORD, save our program)
January 10th, 2011 at 8:17 AM ^
I really doubt stoops will come, he has turned down many other lucrative positions.
