I should root for Delaware?
January 7th, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
I can be ok with Miles.. I see him as a way to keep recruits interested and keep the program relevant for a few years. Replace him in 5-6 years when we are a perennial top-25 team, and replace him with a younger long-term coach.
January 7th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
How exactly do you imagine that we get rid of him after 5-6 years? You can only get rid of a coach if he retires or he sucks for several years and you fire him. You don't cut him after 5-6 years as a top-25 team.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:23 PM ^
but I can't root for someone who'd hang his players out to dry. Or an administration that would hire him, after all the shock, shock, I say, about the over-stretching debacle bringing shame on a pristine program. I'd simply stop watching and make better use of my time.
Unless he can prove that it was his evil twin. I believe in giving a guy a chance to tell his side of the story.
January 8th, 2011 at 1:20 AM ^
But that uniform is supposed to be symbolic of some other shit. Said shit does not include oversigning and lying to 18 year olds, as far as I know.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:14 PM ^
I agree. If it is down to Hoke and Miles I know which way I lean.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
Then DB is a terrible athletic director with no imagination who deserves to be fired immediately. I can't believe there is no buffer between Miles and Hoke.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:23 PM ^
He practically broke out his checkbook during the press conference. The apparent lack of interest throughout the country coupled with DB's evident lack of acumen is very disheartening at this point.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:42 PM ^
got new jobs weeks ago?
January 7th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
also, Brandon is fooling himself if he thinks firing RR after only 3 seasons isn't going to negatively affect the decisions of any future coaching prospects.
We look like premature ejaculating idiots. You may be more familiar with the laymen's term: Notre Dame
January 7th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
amen
January 7th, 2011 at 8:32 PM ^
Before Hoke and Miles, we still have:
Dan Mullen (I know, pie in the sky)
Charlie Strong
Randy Shannon
Dungy/Gruden (also pie in the sky)
We don't need to panic any more than before Patterson was offered this contract. He was always a longshot, we've got a couple of longshots still left, and a couple of guys who we still have a pretty dang good shot at.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:25 PM ^
Your not rooting for Miles and if your allegiance lies with who the coach is please don't root at all.
January 7th, 2011 at 9:11 PM ^
Isn't that the attitude that helped run RR out? Just support your coach, whoever that is.
January 8th, 2011 at 1:23 AM ^
What the fuck do you know? I'm sure that almost every tOSU fan would root for Bernie Madoff if he could beat Michigan, but there are still a few Michigan fans who think there's a fucking balance between loyalty to the school and doing things the right way. Get to your own fucking board and go tell yourself that Jim Tressel does everything above board. I'm sick of this shit.

yet fits this situation quite nicely...

FUBAR
January 7th, 2011 at 8:27 PM ^
Brandon and MSC are batshit crazy if they think Miles is a good fit for Michigan at this point in his career.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
There is still room on the Jon Gruden bandwagon. May not be realistic, but it beats the hell out of running to M-Den to buy a Hokeamania t-shirt.
Keep hope alive!
January 7th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
Okay, but I'll need someone to pilot my lunatic Jeff Fisher bandwagon in the meantime.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:27 PM ^
But Ira Weintraub, a Baltimore guy and Ravens fan, said on WTKA that John Harbaugh might come if the Ravens lose their play-off game... I'm pretty sure he was joking, but it's that kind of hmmm, why not, kind of joke. Hmm... Why not?
January 7th, 2011 at 8:28 PM ^
Having gone to grad school at USC, I was on that bandwagon last year hard (him or Del Rio). That ended with Lane Kiffin.

i don't mind having an X and O type head coach with some cache. even a figurehead. this would be a boon for recruiting. he would just need to hire assistants with UM ties who can actually coach and teach.
hell, tell me how much paterno has coached the past decade. or even bowden in the fsu hey dey.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
Someone please give me some good news, please, pretty please?
January 7th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
Nope, that's just more bad news...
January 7th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
Not to pile on but I can't make my own posts since the site blew up. Per Rivals ITF "cross your fingers on Frost. Things have changed a ton since the start of the week." That is in the negative not in the positive...
So there's that.
Remember though, this process had no effect on recruiting. -Morons

That Magnus is now their top choice...
January 7th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
That's it. I am applying for the job. You all better be all in for me, or else.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:21 PM ^
Well, if it's down to you and Miles, you can count on my vote!
January 7th, 2011 at 8:25 PM ^
Under my leadership all student athletes will have dorm rooms. Also, I know how to count.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:26 PM ^
You're sounding better and better!
January 7th, 2011 at 8:28 PM ^
We haven't heard JBE's stance on the human nutritional value of grass yet.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:33 PM ^
I am a gum man myself, and I rarely throw it. Hire me now, and I will construct a physical defense and a hybrid spread and power run offense. Additionally, I will sew up the recruitment of Frost.
January 7th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
You're more qualified as a DC since you obviously have no aversion to putting your hand up a stuffed animal and using them for motivation. Welcome, GERG 2.0!

Is there any place for me withing your regime?
January 7th, 2011 at 10:02 PM ^
Sure. I will need that LSD when I'm breaking down gametape. "God didn't do it, you did it." Also, depending on your expertise you can be either OC or DC or cheer coach.
January 7th, 2011 at 10:14 PM ^
Save the blotter sheets for the long plane trips to the Rose Bowl. We'll break out the mescaline for game tapes.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
And to hell with "Basketball on Grass"!

Les is eating Tressel's ass? CFB just got super kinky.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:41 PM ^
Very telling.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:17 PM ^
that the UM job has become less attractive than the Notre Dame job was last year after the disaster that the ND program had become?
January 7th, 2011 at 8:20 PM ^
We just fired a BCS winning coach whose record got better every season he was here after just three seasons. Why would Patterson want to emulate Rich Rodriguez's career arc right now?
January 7th, 2011 at 8:22 PM ^
Worst decision I could have imagined. That was still with Harbaugh on the table. If we legitimately fired RR in order to hire Hoke I may have to take a step back. At least until DB is sent packing.
January 7th, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
I can't imagine Brandon is dumb enough to make that move without a legit shot at a home run hire. I also think he wasn't able to do anything concrete until Harbaugh had officially moved on (otherwise fans freak out that we didn't go harder after him).
A buddy of mine (CU fan) is convinced Brandon is retarded. I really hope he is wrong.
