FAIL!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:13 PM ^
This video is setting up these division names for failure. I hope I'm wrong.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:13 PM ^
what about the division names?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:13 PM ^
Leaders and Courage?
Leaders and Best?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:14 PM ^
I can feel it:
The HUMILITY and the INTEGRITY divisions!
HARD EDGE!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:14 PM ^
Is making me laugh outloud in the grad stacks. I feel bad, but this is just so aweful.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
WHAT. THE. HELL. This is bullshit. Worst names ever.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:17 PM ^
Can you imagine the SEC with division names like these? Good God.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
Ugh!!!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
Legends and Leaders.

Legends and Leaders
December 13th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
Video on Leadership. This is not setting up well for the division names. Please don't burden us with abstract-idealized division names.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
Legends and leaders? That is the best they can do?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
Is that really what they just said the divisions are?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
Michigan ISN'T in the leaders division? It's in the fucking fight song for christ's sake!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
Leaders and best...not in the leaders division. Something about that doesn't seem right, haha.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
How do you have a Leaders division that does not include Michigan?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
Jim Delany Fail. Big surprise.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
fuck this
December 13th, 2010 at 12:16 PM ^
This is a train wreck.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:17 PM ^
Well guys, I, for one, cannot WAIT to be LEGENDS DIVISION CHAMPIONS!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:17 PM ^
So we're in the Legends division. I can't deal with how bad that was.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:19 PM ^
and Best.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:50 PM ^
Aren't legend guys that are now too old to play?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
I don't mind them. They're kind of catchy, and will provide for a lot of jokes while tailgating.
We, obviously, should have been in the Leaders division though.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
just horrible...your gonna hold a special show for this shit?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:51 PM ^
Did LeBron announce where he is going?
December 13th, 2010 at 12:18 PM ^
A thousand monkeys on a thousand typewriters came up with the great division names of all time.
Stupid monkeys.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:19 PM ^
... or were, as it were.
Logo looks like it was sourced on fiverr.
It's a cornhusker-clusterf#ck!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:23 PM ^
Stagg-Paterno??? wtf! PSU has been in the conference for how long? ARGH!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:24 PM ^
the old school Big Ten Commish type names that had been thrown out.
Given the lack of feisability of directionality (East/West), school affiliation (Bo/Woody), or region (Great Lake/Great Plain) the names were bound to suck no matter what.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:24 PM ^
Wow. They just keep piling on the crap, don't they!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:24 PM ^
Stagg-Paterno for championship game
Grange-Griffin for MVP of championship game
cue suicide
December 13th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
Paterno gets a Trophy and we can't be in the Leaders division? Crap. Reminds me of the CCHA naming the Mason Jar (cup) for the CCHA before Mason retired.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:30 PM ^
I love how the Michigan players duct tape the name Berenson to the Mason Cup whenever they win it...which it should be the Berenson/Mason cup.
December 13th, 2010 at 1:14 PM ^
Doesn't Michigan have some kind of record for most conference championships...of anybody that's ever played the game?
We outnumber PSU 42-3 in Big Ten titles and it's their coach's name on the trophy?
I'm not sayin...I'm just sayin.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:26 PM ^
December 13th, 2010 at 12:26 PM ^
stagg paterno trophy is terrible
stagg from uni of chicago - not in conference
paterno - less than half of career in conference
michigan's namesake trophy is gerald fucking ford.
this is going so poorly.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:32 PM ^
technically U of Chicago is still a member of the conference academically but not athletically. Hence, they have no voting power, but can still attend conference academic meetings.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:58 PM ^
Once upon a time when the league was actually the Big Nine (funny how it was OK once not to have an even number - I guess it was just the style at the time), U of Chicago was a member athletically. Later it decided to drop out when it couldn't admit players who could both have hopes of ever graduating AND also play at the rising caliber of play. They do however participate as noted in academic superstructure meetings.
It seems like the trophies and awards were named with an old-new theme. Find someone from the past and then find someone more recent. When these things pop up (like New Coke, the "new" NBC logo, the original Infiniti car ads which showed NO cars) one has to wonder what the brainstorming sessions were like and what ideas were rejected.
December 13th, 2010 at 1:45 PM ^
When the "new" part of a name is Paterno, you know you have issues.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:27 PM ^
THIS IS MY NIGHTMARE!
December 13th, 2010 at 12:28 PM ^
for best coach
they got SOMETHING right
December 13th, 2010 at 12:29 PM ^
They were bound to stick some words in the right order in the right place eventually. There's only a finite set to work with, after all.
December 13th, 2010 at 12:29 PM ^
That I can live with.
December 13th, 2010 at 4:38 PM ^
This was the one trophy name they actually got right.
I can't get over how they felt the need to "represent" generations and teams with these odd pairings. Yeah, Pat Fitzgerald and Dick Butkus are practically football equals... right. Tim McGarigle was as good as Fitzgerald. Jonas Mouton will do more in the NFL than Ftizgerald.
I think we should update all trophies. Let's call it the Heisman-Tebow trophy from now on
