V Smith and Death Roh cleared to play Saturday
Need all the help we can get.
BEAT OSU!
November 24th, 2010 at 2:01 PM ^
The same can't be said for redshirt junior receiver Junior Hemingway and redshirt sophomore linebacker Kenny Demens. Both have yet to be cleared by doctors after suffering their own concussion-type symptoms.
It looks somewhat bleak for junior receiver Darryl Stonum, who was carted from the field Saturday after suffering an ankle injury, and redshirt freshman receiver/return man Jeremy Gallon, who suffered a shoulder injury on a kick return, but Rodriguez wouldn't count either out
November 24th, 2010 at 2:04 PM ^
Unreal... the bad news far outweighs the good news if this holds true.
OP forgot to mention Lewan is also cleared.
It'll be a one in a million shot. But right now that is one more shot than we will have on Sunday. Go Blue!

There's a chance...

Never post that "When Harry Met Lloyd" shit around here ever again.
November 24th, 2010 at 3:29 PM ^
That movie does not exist to me.
November 24th, 2010 at 3:28 PM ^
I take offense to this picture being posted
November 24th, 2010 at 5:55 PM ^
I also take offense to this picture being posted. I feel like my childhood has been disrespected.
November 24th, 2010 at 4:05 PM ^
Shittiest movie ever I can't believe you posted that shit like it was funny. Shit.
November 24th, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
I actually met a person that preferred the non-existant movie over the original. I about dong-punched myself.

CMON!
November 24th, 2010 at 9:39 PM ^
Is that.....Lloyd Brady?!
November 24th, 2010 at 2:05 PM ^
But yeah, it's gonna be totally Rodriguez's fault if we lose Saturday.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:20 PM ^
Rich Rodriguez has very very little to do with michigan football
nothing is his fault
except all the good things which happen...he is responsible for that
but if it is bad or even neutral its not his fault
yes, he has had a bit of bad luck...but enough already
isn't this supposed to be the one game of the year where we throw out the record books?
it doesn't matter who is lining up, as long as they have wings on their helmets they have a chance to beat OSU?
November 24th, 2010 at 2:25 PM ^
Dude, true freshmen. How hard is that to figure out? It isn't an excuse. It is a reason.
18 year olds coached by Dan the In school suspension teacher last year... now they are playing against TP and the gang of uglies. Have some sense.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:33 PM ^
his record is his record
anything you say about it is an explanation of why, but the buck stops at the head coach
shortage of players, bad systems, bare cupboard etc.
Say what you will about the tenets of a base 4-3, Dude, but at least it's an ethos.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:51 PM ^
The buck stops at the head coach? Dorsey didn't get in! The best CB in the class wanted to come here and didn't get in. The recruiting was a fucking WIN! Witty (who started for Cinci this year as a true freshman) also wanted to come here and wasn't let in. Those are both huge recruiting wins, head coaching wins! There is no way that any of the injuries or non acceptences are RRs fault. None.
That is so fucking stupid.
November 24th, 2010 at 3:01 PM ^
recruiting fails
November 24th, 2010 at 3:05 PM ^
Wrong. They are communications failures from Admissions to the Athletic Dept.
If a kid commits here then the coaching staff has doen all it can. Do you think they would go after a kid they know couldn't be admitted?
November 24th, 2010 at 3:18 PM ^
did the admissions dept. change their standards? if so then its on them
I have not seen anything to support that claim,
I doubt I ever will see the kids tests scores as it is none of my business
November 24th, 2010 at 3:19 PM ^
I am surprised you don't know this, but Dorsey went to a school that was not up to snuff with the admissions dept. His grades were fine. There was a question about whether those grades were earned or given at this particular school which was not the same school where he played ball. That is not on the coach as it is (I assume) not a normal situation.
November 24th, 2010 at 3:48 PM ^
Let's be honest here. Dorsey had all kinds of red flags attached and we chose to recruit him anyway. We simply shouldn't have pursued him at all.
November 24th, 2010 at 4:04 PM ^
thats your example?
It was my understanding we got him b/c a ton of other schools started to back away b/c of the academic stuff
November 24th, 2010 at 11:21 PM ^
How dare RR not go to class with Dorsey every day to make sure he was good academically. And how dare he break Woolfolk's ankle. And how dare let the MSU player cut Martin down....

November 24th, 2010 at 3:04 PM ^
Wait, what? How are nonacceptances not partially on the coach? Isn't it a coach's obligation to recruit players who are academically qualified, and at least have backup plans in place if he's taking a gamble on borderline student-athletes?
I don't want to do this, I don't want to do this, I don't want to do this . . . but I must. Some coaches have managed to recruit talented players at schools that have even higher academic standards than Michigan.
(ducks and struggles to avoid rotten fruit being thrown at him).
I DON'T WANT RICH ROD FIRED, REALLY! STOP THROWING FRUIT!
November 24th, 2010 at 3:07 PM ^
A) Read above.
B) There is no back-up plan for a top CB in a class not being admitted. For all RR knew he had the best CB in a class wrapped up. Believe it or not we don't have the top 5 CBs planning on coming here and just waiting until the #1 guy isn't admitted. I know, hard to believe.
November 25th, 2010 at 7:32 PM ^
in the country to come and play here. It is such a simple thing the SEC has even mastered it.
November 24th, 2010 at 3:11 PM ^
I think it's been well documented that our admissions and compliance staff was lacking the last however many years. Miscommunications between the athletic department and admissions can not be wholly lumped onto a pile of blame laying at Rrod's feet.
If i was a football coach at a major university i would have enough things on my plate besides tracking the gpa's and test scores of literally 1000's of kids that i'm breaking down and recruiting. I'd have to delegate that to my admissions staff and trust them to properly do their jobs.
November 24th, 2010 at 3:16 PM ^
I'd have to delegate that to my admissions staff and trust them to properly do their jobs.
and when you delegate and the people you have entrusted to do the work fail...what happens? who is to blame?
November 24th, 2010 at 3:22 PM ^
For people like you who have an axe to grind it is to whomever you want it to be. Facts be damned. Not surprising really. For most people, once the facts are visible, the blame can be properly delegated. But for people like you nothing will ever change your mind. Not even facts.
November 24th, 2010 at 3:25 PM ^
The people that are gone/leaving as DB cleans house?
November 24th, 2010 at 3:49 PM ^
Miscommunications between the athletic department and admissions can not be wholly lumped onto a pile of blame laying at Rrod's feet.
Which is why I said only that recruiting ineligible players is partially on the coach.

November 25th, 2010 at 7:35 PM ^
left out the part where he was working to get in to Michigan. That part had to conclude before the admissions department could finish their evaluation. Since it had been completed when he applied to Louisville, they also had it available.
November 24th, 2010 at 4:33 PM ^
I think what people are basically saying is that baring clear systemic collapse, you are f*!#ing crazy to fire a coach after 3 years. Our recruiting hasn't collapsed, our season records aren't backsliding, we are finally facing a winning season, calm down. Yes, our defense is a disaster, but our coach's first real recruiting class are now only sophmores and even on the defensive side of the ball, a lot of them still show a great deal of potential for being that young and recruited during losing seasons. The skematics and defensive development is lacking, and hopefully a coaching change can turn that around and an increased focus on recruiting will hopefully start loading up the potential for a dynasty. If not, then when we are looking for a new coach they will at least know they have reasonable expectations to live up to.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:28 PM ^
So let me get this straight..... you seem to imply that concussions are now RRs fault? Pull it together man, your acting like an OSU Alumni.
And yes, in theory the rivalry shouldnt matter who wear the uniform, but lets be honest, unless our offense is firing on all cylinders without Demens our D is toast.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:36 PM ^
everything that goes wrong is somehow out of his control
I am not blaming him for concussions, I am just saying we can probably end the Rich Rod is totally blameless when it comes to anything that is the tiniest bit negative
November 24th, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
I've yet to see anyone make that argument except you. You're arguing against yourself at this point. People have called out the defense and RR's handling of it hundreds of times on this board.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:34 PM ^
You can throw out the record books but keep the injury report. That is important.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:07 PM ^
guuuuuuuuuuh. hemingway AND stonum??? geez.
November 24th, 2010 at 2:08 PM ^
Who's left to play outside receiver if Stonum and Hemingway can't play?

I don't know how Vincent is going to play in this game. He got absolutely plowed (made the block), but I've never seen someone so woozy after a big hit. That was scary as hell watching him try to make it back to the bench and seeing him faceplant.
He must have a superhuman skull.
