Troubles/Drama in Buckeyeland (Pryor vs. Herbstreit)
Not sure if anyone has posted this but the rumor is TP tweeted another gem. This time he kept it in the family.
November 21st, 2010 at 4:49 PM ^
I only want to talk about players that play for Michigan.
November 21st, 2010 at 4:55 PM ^
But why did you click this obviously titled link about a non-Michigan player?
November 21st, 2010 at 7:16 PM ^
I didn't say anything about not reading about players that don't play for Michigan, mister killer whale avatar man/person.
:)
edit: (gulp) wow, tough crowd tonight...how about a magic trick?
November 21st, 2010 at 7:21 PM ^
Can we not lampoon religious figures here? Seriously.
November 21st, 2010 at 8:59 PM ^
"yes, michimoby. even if it's from family guy."
whoops. *crab walk offstage right*
November 21st, 2010 at 5:26 PM ^
I only click links that don't have bleacherreport.com in the URL
November 21st, 2010 at 6:32 PM ^
but when I do, I prefer foot-in-mouth disease.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:54 PM ^
We play him next week; therefore, it's OK.
November 21st, 2010 at 4:55 PM ^
Yeah, Bleacher Report isn't exactly a credible source around here.
November 21st, 2010 at 4:59 PM ^
Copy that about bleacher! I was a little concerned about posting a link from bleacher but there's a few Ohio news refs to it as well.
Note: It could be a fake story to generate traffic but who would do that to these two? =)
November 21st, 2010 at 4:59 PM ^
I think the title should say: Herbstreet with objective analysis, and Pryor continues to be an idiot.
November 21st, 2010 at 5:42 PM ^
This is why I actually like Herbstreit. He's not an OSU homer but is still obviously a fan, what with his kids dressed in OSU gear during Gameday picks. I don't have to like it, but I can't hate him for it either.
Desmond does the same thing...he's able to objectively critique Michigan without sounding like a dope. I don't see Denard tweeting "fake wolverine."
Pryor is...uh...well...derp.
November 21st, 2010 at 10:50 PM ^
It's because Denard is busy saying things like how the problem with the Heisman is only 1 player can win it and being an overall good person.
November 21st, 2010 at 5:11 PM ^
November 21st, 2010 at 7:54 PM ^
maybe, maybe not
you'd be surprised at how many people down here have agreed with pryor's sentiment for a long, long time
November 21st, 2010 at 8:30 PM ^
Herbstreit ratf*cked OSU several times during Tressel's first few years, most notably during 2003-2004, when he a) said on air that if he was advising recruits, he'd tell them to go anywhere but OSU, and b) during the Alamo Bowl, when he and the other announcer spent the entire game trashing OSU athletics as a whole.
November 21st, 2010 at 9:02 PM ^
...perhaps where there is smoke there is fire, my friend.
November 21st, 2010 at 10:26 PM ^
Why, has no one said anything about you being an OSU fan?
Get off this site you piece of trash, Go Blue!
November 21st, 2010 at 11:10 PM ^
Why has no one said anything about you being an asshat?
November 21st, 2010 at 11:16 PM ^
You can chill out. He doesn't seem like a troll and he actually contributed to the discussion. It's good to have opposing viewpoints sometimes.
Stay classy.
November 21st, 2010 at 5:20 PM ^
If by fake, Pryor means "able to form complete sentences," then, yes, Herbstreit is not a real Buckeye.
November 21st, 2010 at 6:17 PM ^
And the fact that his job doesn't include cleaning toilets or driving a vehicle with 18 wheels.
November 21st, 2010 at 5:34 PM ^
Hindsight is 20/20. Pryor is putting up some big numbers, but he's not exactly the world beater everyone predicted him to be at this point. Everytime he opens his mouth it makes me glad we didn't end up the highest bidder for his services.
November 21st, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
And everytime he drags the team to a road win when his receivers drop everything in sight, we're glad he chose us. You got Denard, we got Pryor, everybody wins!
Was it a stupid thig to say? Yea, but who the hell cares?
November 21st, 2010 at 7:59 PM ^
November 21st, 2010 at 8:30 PM ^
Yea, we're all going to turn on him because he is 21 and says stupid stuff!
November 21st, 2010 at 11:23 PM ^
there's saying stupid stuff... and then there's saying stupid stuff directly to a slew of reporters/the general public.
November 21st, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Jon Ross, Im just curious why if you want to separate yourselves as the best program in college football by being "The Ohio State University," you feel the need to emulate Thug U.
November 22nd, 2010 at 1:24 AM ^
What does this even mean? The university's name is "The Ohio State University", it has/had absolutely nothing to do with the football team. How are we "continuing to emulate Thug U?"
rephrase maybe?
November 22nd, 2010 at 8:02 AM ^
Is what he may be trying to refer to. Maybe he feels the Miami players were saying the "The U" before OSU players started saying "The Ohio State University". And maybe he doesn't hearing athletes in other sports saying it. I don't know which I remember hearing first, but I find both similarly annoying.
Plus when Miami started saying all the "The U" business, they were no longer Thug U.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:40 PM ^
That may be tre that he isn't quite a world beater, but personally I think that his skills have not been utilized well at Ohio State. If he'd have came here he would probably be very silimar to Cam Newton: big back that has breakaway speed and can make easy throws. Obviously, I'm glad that we have Denard, but Pryor could be way more productive in this offense.
November 21st, 2010 at 5:39 PM ^
amongst one's enemies is always welcome.
November 21st, 2010 at 6:02 PM ^
Herbie is a fake Buckeye, and Pryor is a fake Quarterback. Fake as hell...
November 21st, 2010 at 6:35 PM ^
...a fake quarterback who is in the discussion for the Heisman, who's 10-1, and who has beaten Michigan each chance he's had.
I'm not sure why Michigan fans feel the need to talk so much shit about Pryor's skill. I understand that he's stupid, but this is nothing more than sour grapes. If you disagree, take a look in Michigan's own backfield and see how you would label Denard Robinson...
November 21st, 2010 at 7:08 PM ^
Chill with the man crush. I was making a joke about an opposing player. Humor... ya know. Jesus Christ you know how to piss in cheerios magnus.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:39 PM ^
I don't have a man crush. I just know sour grapes when I see them.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:46 PM ^
So you don't deny pissing in Jesus' Cheerios?
November 21st, 2010 at 7:51 PM ^
When ya gotta go, ya gotta go.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:23 PM ^
It's incredibly little-brother of us. Our program would be in a much better place if he'd come here.
November 21st, 2010 at 11:50 PM ^
I can't agree more. I sit around and bitch about Pryor with my Ohio State fans all the time. I can say he's not that great all I want....but let's be serious, we would have benefitted ten-fold had he chose us.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:29 PM ^
We need to beat the guy and his team at least once before we start talking smack about him.
November 21st, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
November 21st, 2010 at 9:10 PM ^
i'd like to point out that he's in the "discussion" for the heisman but not in the discussion. other than that i agree.
i can admit that i still would've liked pryor at michigan. i can guarantee it wouldn't have fallen off a cliff like it did with sheridan/ threet in 08 and 09 likely would've been better too. plus, i have this sneaking suspicion that:
pryor at michigan > pryor at ohio state
he would've been put to better use here.
November 21st, 2010 at 6:08 PM ^
His analysis is solid, and he's usually objective...but the Les Miles outing still bothers me...out of scope for his job and painted Miles into a corner to stay at LSU. I think the program will be better of in the long run with RR, but still think at the time a potential Les Miles hire was thought of as the favored direction that would keep M rolling, and Herbie's 'scoop' undermined that..
November 21st, 2010 at 6:11 PM ^
is dumb as a box of rocks. I'm glad we don't have that drama queen at UM. Granted, I was hoping to win the recruiting battle for him and maybe as a result 2008 and 2009 wouldn't have been quite so brutal, but his antics/personality/outbursts are pure silliness.
November 21st, 2010 at 7:11 PM ^
years running. Quarrel with his mentality, or statements, or upbringing, but stupid--long way from it.
November 21st, 2010 at 6:23 PM ^
Twoolf tweets >>>>> Pryor tweets
November 21st, 2010 at 7:18 PM ^
Pryor is a moron, but he does win games. I'm still glad we didn't get him.
November 21st, 2010 at 8:24 PM ^
I am very happy TP does not play for Michigan, I would rather watch guys like Denard on Saturday.
