Forrest Griffin(UFC Fighter) becomes a Wolverine
Ufc 123 is in Detroit and Forrest Griffin wanted to stop by and see the Michigan football program up close. I'm not sure if this link will work...http://modules.ufc.com/live/
It may, if it doesn't go to UFC.com and it's the 2nd video after the weigh-in on the front page.
WAR RAMPAGE!!!!

Thanks for posting this. I was skeptical at first because UFC is absurd, but he was definitely given more inside access than I expected.
You can tell the guy has been punched in the head too many times, though.
November 19th, 2010 at 8:56 PM ^
How is UFC absurd? It's the toughest sport a person can do, going for 5 5-minute rounds is about as hard as it gets. Those guys are warriors.
November 19th, 2010 at 8:58 PM ^
To each his own.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:05 PM ^
Just someone who does not know or understand the sport. Always liked Forrest, now I like him even more.
November 20th, 2010 at 2:42 AM ^
I liked him until my son started training MMA at Warrior. Forrest has been asked to leave the gym a few times when children are around. He just acts like a jackass.
November 20th, 2010 at 11:04 AM ^
Imagine that a proffesional athlete not a good role model. Don't have any of those in mainstream sports.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:51 PM ^
I understand that some people just are not into people beating the hell out of each other. I love it though. I didn't like Forrest much after he edged out that victory over Rampage(I thought Rampage won the fight, it was close). However, I'll root for Forrest now after watching this. Thanks guys for enjoying this, I was afraid I was going to get the neg for posting.

the rush of tapping someone out, without hitting, punching, kicking, just plain causing a guy to submit or give up. Also, knock'n someone (who consents to fight) the F -out is pretty damn fun too. Gotta try it. I remember reading awhile ago that Tate was into MMA training but had to stop after he committed to Michigan.

Absurd is pro wrestling, not UFC. Its the real deal unlike the wrestling garbage. I understand not everyone likes it but it still far from absurd.
November 20th, 2010 at 9:50 AM ^
actually a really smart guy. 2 good funny books, worth a read.
November 20th, 2010 at 11:35 AM ^
He went to UGA and was a cop for a while, too. He's a legit dude.
November 19th, 2010 at 8:48 PM ^
Awesome sport. I laughed at it for a long time. I was an old school boxing fan. Hagler-Hearns the greatest three rounds of boxing ever. So I just dismissed it as a bunch of gamer zit-poppers glorifying brute violence.
My cousins forced me to go to a bar to watch Lesner this summer. I got hooked. The energy in the ring and with the fans is like boxing used to be. Let's see some of that scary energy tomorrow on the field at Michigan Stadium.

Not much into UFC - but cool just the same.
November 19th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
I new I always liked Griffin for some reason.
November 20th, 2010 at 2:46 AM ^
I knew....
November 19th, 2010 at 9:04 PM ^
in case no one else noticed, when he goes into the stadium the lights are on.

I liked when he is with barwis and he goes "I'm trying to steal his brain knowledge"
pretty hilarious

became infinitely so much cooler in my book. It's awesome that he came over to Ann Arbor to take a look at Michigan football.
November 20th, 2010 at 1:48 AM ^
the stadium lights? They look great - not overbearing or out of place, just fitting perfectly into the design of the towers. Very nice.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:20 PM ^
going from kickboxing to field goal kicking would be too much of a stretch?

That conversation between Forrest and Barwis must've been something. I would've loved to listen in and see how amazed Forrest was at Barwis' knowledge and overall "enthusiasm".
We also get to see video of the new lights in the stadium. They look very sleek along the roofs and I'm surprised they could break them up along each sideline and not have to have one continuous line.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:25 PM ^
Nice looking lights over the stadium.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:29 PM ^
...but I might start now.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:34 PM ^
Barwis could take him.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
I bet Barwis could go toe to toe with him and bring him down, if he wanted to.
November 19th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
...with one hand.
behind his back.
November 20th, 2010 at 6:33 PM ^
I thought I read somewhere that Barwis does MMA, so it would not surprise me. That and he trains with wolves.
November 19th, 2010 at 9:42 PM ^
had to watch it again, thanks for pointing out the lights. Great work Now Im pouring a glass of spiced rum and ice tea. As I drink, I close my eyes look ahead to the future Michigan football games playing in AA. Cant wait to hear the BH crowd the first night, with primetime national exposure! Go Blue! Hard Edge!
"Those Who Stay Will Be Champions"

Might have something to do with getting his ass kicked by Rashad Evans.
November 19th, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
Steal some brain knowledge???? Sounds like he had a couple before he recorded this
November 19th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
heh forest griffin is from columbus
November 19th, 2010 at 10:33 PM ^
Cool vid. Wished they had someone else besides Griffin there. Hes not the smartest guy in the world. My last memory of FG is him getting embarrassed by Silva.
November 19th, 2010 at 11:28 PM ^
To be fair, Silva has embarrassed countless fighters, Forrest is just a one.

November 19th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
Forest Griffin VS Stephen Bonnar one of the best fights in mma history!!! Great to see Forest in a Michigan jersey.
November 19th, 2010 at 10:55 PM ^
So let me get this straight..
This guy was born in Columbus, OH. Went to the University of Georgia. And somehow, he is a Michigan fan. That is craaaazy
November 19th, 2010 at 11:12 PM ^
November 19th, 2010 at 11:27 PM ^
Does he have any eligibility left? Just sayin...
November 19th, 2010 at 11:59 PM ^
If you want to see this guy fight I would recommend watching Griffin vs. Bonnar 1, the final for the Ultimate Fighter 1. it's a hell of a fight. This guy helped grow the sport. I respect him.
November 20th, 2010 at 2:10 AM ^
This was way better when I thought it said Robert Griffin
November 20th, 2010 at 10:00 AM ^
I am a HUGE MMA fan and have followed it since the beginning before it became mainstream. It's so great that its now being recognized as a sport. It really is more than 2 guys beating the crap out of each other. It's alot like a chess match especially when you incorporate the ground game. Forrest is actually one of my favorite fighters in MMA not just UFC so this video just makes me smile. The guy is funny and a warrior in the ring!
November 20th, 2010 at 10:37 AM ^
But tell me RR at least find out if this dude can kick
November 20th, 2010 at 11:39 AM ^
I'm thinking he's been smacked in the head a few times. Hey, Michigan should check out his 40 time...if he's fast enough he could make for a killer linebacker - which we could use :O)
