Jumbo Package
Who else loved that jumbo package that Michigan used at the goal-line on Saturday with Hopkins at RB, Will Campbell at FB, and Washington at H-Back?
Last year when the season collapsed at the Illinois 1-yard line I was begging for Michigan to come out in jumbo package with Kevin Grady and Mark Moundros. Apparently Rodriguez decided to leave no doubt and put 900 pounds of human being in the back-field this time. I think you'll see this situation in the next couple of weeks with the same result - then later in the season you'll see them use different variations with the same personnel.
But here's the real question - Who catches the first play action TD pass - Campbell or Washington?

of the totally obscenely shaped breakfast sausage they used to serve in college.

Big Will wiped out the ND defender, although he probably out weighted him by 75 lbs. Forget the spread option, how about the Big Will dive option. Wonder if he will get the ball one time during the next couple of weeks, the Big House would go nuts.

I loved it. It was almost the "elephant I."
I think the element of surprise was important, too.

Running behind those guys is like a Sunday drive down I-75. I like those guys seeing the field in any way they can. I like how coach is incorporating role players...if you can't start, we'll still get you on the field. Great for team morale. Great for Quinton and Will to make a contribution. Q is an athelete with quick feet. We can expect to see more of this the next couple of weeks because we've already shown it. Doubt we'll see many more wrinkles until Indiana. Thor will eat them up.

Maybe Hopkins will follow the blocks next time as well, instead of cutting up into the weak side linebackers.
But Campbell was seriously nasty on that block. He wasn't going to disengage until that LB was flat on his back.

I'm pretty sure he delivered a parting shot too.

to realize something over the past few weeks and months.
Ahem.
We are all 12 years old. Cox jokes. Ash jokes. Jumbo Packages. We are 12.
And it is awesome.

I made a Fridge/Bears comment in another thread, but I saw Ditka talk about it once on Countdown - the Fridge was good but he was a rookie behind 2 AWESOME D-tackles on the depth chart, and they wanted to get him some PT... so they put him in at lead blocker.
I like doing the same with Big Will, and yes, he did kill it on that block. I dare-say I like our short yardage team this year.

this means they're switching him to O-line doesn't it?

I love the jumbo package. Q and Big Will are beasts and makes it almost impossible for us not to get in the endzone whenever they're leading the charge.
