[OT] - Arizona QB Khalil Tate named Pac-12 Player of the Week for third consecutive time
The first player since USC's Rodney Peete in 1988 to win the award 3 consecutive times.
True sophomore QB Khalil Tate was thrusted into action in Week 6 after Colorado knocked incumbent starter Brandon Dawkins out of the game with a rib injury. Three games later, Tate has completed 31/41 passes for 468 yards (11.4 ypa), 694 rushing yards (15.1 ypc), and 11 total TDs.
It looks like RichRod might have found his next Denard/Pat White at Arizona.
Edit: No desire to bring back RichRod, but that doesn't mean his offense isn't still entertaining/electric as ever.

Hoke: 3-5 in 2013, 3-5 in 2014.

Yeah we aren't where we should be right now because of Rich Rod. Come on Man, that's reaaaaching big time, lol.

Actually, you can trace it all the way back to God.

Good for him. He still can't field a defense to save his own life. Any defense worth its salt knows how to shut his offense down.

Good for him. Glad he finally found his Denard.

Imagine if RichRod hired Don Brown instead of Scott Shaffer in 2008. Man...

The team definitely would've been better, probably would've been challenging for 9-10 win seasons, but they still never would've beaten OSU. Tressel had RichRod's offense figured out from Day 1. Don Brown could not have helped the fact that RichRod's offenses scored a grand total of 24 points on OSU in three years.

All that's relevant about this thread is that is possible for a coach to not pick the correct starter. Any coach. Anywhere. Sometimes the best guy is just sitting on the bench. Somtimes he's young. Like RS FR young. Occassionally. Not often, but every so often.

That RichRod's offense racks up huge yardage against bad teams and craps its pants against good teams, then yes his offense is as electric and entertaining as ever.

Does repeating the same canard over and over make it true? Reminds me when people were saying that Hoke performed a "turnaround" at Ball St.

Sounds similar to what he had at WVU. If he has a hot QB who fits the system and stays healthy they can make a run, especially against average competition.

Great coaches don't have a .583 career winning percentage.

but I think his open-field ankle-breaking ability is superior to Denard's. Perfect for RR. They'll win a lot of games 44-41.

It's a process you guys.
He will have the Wildcats in the title game soon.
October 24th, 2017 at 2:36 PM ^
He's already taken Arizona to a Pac-12 Title game.

For those complaining that we haven't beaten a ranked opponent on the road in forever, Arizona took down No. 2 Oregon at Oregon in 2014. The only other team to beat Oregon that year was OSU (in the championship game). He's coached that team to some upsets there. (They also beat a top-10 Oregon the year before.) I'm extremely grateful and glad that Harbaugh is our coach (and wouldn't trade him for RR), but I've always thought Harbaugh's reliance on a complex, NFL-style offense could be a detriment given the time it takes to coach up students, the limited practice time, and the constant turnover that comes with the college game (coupled with the offense's refusal to take advantage of certain aspects of the college game that favor offenses).
