Three more MSU players may be off team
There were rumors bandied about early this week about some very bad news dropping for MSU football today, and now some stories are starting to surface that include Josh King and two others being gone. Names mentioned include LJ Scott, Donnie Corley, Demetric Vance, and Kenny Lyke. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

Should be selling bail bonds at this point.

Now there's some real results.

Josh King running into trouble after facing literally zero consequences for his previous actions is not all that shocking.

I may be confusing him with someone else, thought he had been charged with assault but don't see anything on the interwebs after a quick search

You're thinking of Auston Robertson.
He was Sparty's 2nd highest rated recruit in 2016 (slightly behind King but ahead of Corley).

He commited to MSU... Seems like there should be consequences for that decision

It's clear Connor Cook was the glue holding that locker room together.

He already coached in their bowl gam.... Oh right.
I think he'll at least make it to their spring game.

That depends. Which school does this Dantioni guy work for?
February 8th, 2017 at 12:56 PM ^
has a rather very bad and potentially very expensive lawsuit soon to be moving through the courts dealing with Dr. Nasser. It has been noted by people I know who work there that MSU is moving in a "zero tolerance" direction for, specifically, sexual crimes but also anything that may leave the University liable. They are in a sense cleaning house.
February 8th, 2017 at 1:00 PM ^
The fact that it wasn't "zero tolerance" to begin with is probably the most disturbing piece of all.

We already knew that with a couple basketball players though didn't we.
MSU has a very tight relationship with its police department and the EL police. Has for decades. My friends at MSU have always told me if/when it goes bad, it will be bad.

What an AWFUL 24 hours it has been for Sparty.

Its been in awful 13 months to be a sparty, starting at the shut out loss to Bama to current. And I dont think they are at rock bottom yet.

MSU's record in football over its past 13 games is its worst stretch since 1991-92, when they also won 3 out of 13 games.
February 8th, 2017 at 12:58 PM ^
Wow, if this were for LJ Scott and Donnie Corley, those are HUGE losses for them for next year. But if I were playing for a 3-9 team I'd want to get the hell out of Dodge too.
Sparty is at a major crossroads right now. Almost all of the momentum they gained over their 4-5 year stretch of dominance is gone. Recruiting has plummeted, and guys are leaving left and right. If their season goes down the tubes again next year, there's nothing holding them back from falling all the way back to what they were when Dantonio took over: a second rate program that will forever be in the shadow of its in-state neighbor. If they fall apart again next year, it almost all but confirms that their ascendance was due in large part to Michigan tanking under RichRod and Hoke.
February 8th, 2017 at 12:58 PM ^
That's their entire team...if you take those guys off the team I can give you 3 to 9 reasons on how they won't even be 3-9 next year.
February 8th, 2017 at 1:37 PM ^
At this point, I think I would rather them go 3-9 again next year than 2-10 so that the joke can continue.
February 8th, 2017 at 1:53 PM ^
and 1-11 are even funnier jokes!
February 8th, 2017 at 5:27 PM ^
0...I have 12 reason why 0-12 would be the funniest.

No, they haven't been through enough yet. You should share.

MSU is a 'basketball school'...well except for this season...and of course, last night
February 8th, 2017 at 1:24 PM ^
What amazes me the most is that they are just a little over a year from competing in the playoffs.

Hate them as we do, the record is what it is. Last 7 years, in 5 of those years dude won 11 or more games.
Which makes the 3-9 all the more odd and what is happening with the team makes no sense.

Also, Delton Williams was getting a lot of playing time.
If Dantonio kicks a guy off the team permanently, it's likely something bigger that took the disciplinary action out of his control.

Scott is the only player mentioned in the OP who is no longer listed in the school directory. All the others are there. FWIW, Lukusa is also no longer listed, so they seem to remove them pretty quickly.
