That woud've been an entertaining game if we didn't prove we were a better team than them.  VT is not very good.  We are decent but don't prove it at all times and shit like tonight has become something of a regularity.  So no, bleeding away a 15 pt. lead slowly but surely, in the mean time playing terrible basketball, only to climax with 2 minutes to go where the bed gets completely shat,  is not entertaining in the slightest.

That HOME loss might decided our tournament fate come March! I guess unless your one of those guys that says November does not count. You don't blow a lead like that and think people are going to just say no biggie....lol come on dude!

No energy from the team or the crowd this team looks similar to last season. Problem with playing 2 big men is becoming apparent. In the past beilein relied on 3 point shots going down as well as limiting TO and fouls. With 2 big men the dynamic of the team changes. There commuting too many fouls and TO and not scoring enough in the paint.

All those transfers, making Irvin play the 4 all of last season, quality bigs sitting on the bench waiting for their number to be called because 3-4 guys vying for one slot.  Maybe they like him as a man but I don't see how they like him as a coach.  Not everyone, anyway.

Worse than anything else, he NEVER stands up for his guys to the officials.  Last night DJ's 4th was total BS.  He didn't look twice at the official.  Mo continues to get off the ball questionable fouls and JB doesnt look twice at the official.  Notre Dame last year.  Nothing.  Championship game against Louisville.  The refs treat Tre like he's Spike, JB should have gotten at least one technical.

JB should watch some old tapes of Knight, Cheney and Thompson in the 80's work those refs and stop yelling at his players.

Beilein's post game locker room speech: "its okay team, we fought hard, we're gonna get better you guys just hang in there, lets go have another team dinner and sing koom by yah"

Where is the athleticism? Where is the toughness? Where is the stud player everyone wants to come see?

Coach B's teams always look the same--skinny, average athletes who can't make their own shot. I weary of being patient.

The fact that 4/5 of those guys are still on active rosters is pretty damn good. They might not be "killing it," but THJ and Stauskas are both averaging 10-11 pts off the bench, Nik shooting 45% on 3PAs. GRIII recently cracked the Pacers' starting lineup, and Caris is still getting healthy.

Expecting to have players drafted every year and that they'll all be stars in NBA is pie in the sky for fans of basically any college team, even the rent-a-recruit ones.

Tough game. Can't win without an inside presence. Hasn't been the same since McGary left. I think I saw a stat that said we're one of the worst points in the paint teams in college Sluggish 2nd half start. Better days ahead.

Since his double-double against Marquette, this is what DJ Wilson has done:

  • 6 pts, 4 reb, 1 ast, 1 stl, 1 blk against SMU
  • 2 pts, 2 reb, 0 ast, 0 stl, 0 blk against USC
  • 5 pts, 7 reb, 0 ast, 0 stl, 0 blk against MSM
  • 2 pts, 3 reb, 0 ast, 0 stl, 1 blk against VA Tech

So pretty much nothing outside of seven rebounds against an overmatched Mount St. Mary's.

I don't go to too many basketball home games. Four straight years though I've now gone to a non conference home game against a marquee opponent and Michigan lost every game. VA Tech this year, Xavier last year, SMU in 2014, and Arizona in 2013. I guess I should only attend games against cupcakes?

JB has never been a good recruiter.  Outside of a couple of classes where he struck gold, he has always been a medicore recruiter.  Mediocre recruits lead to medicore teams.  Look at Sparty football this year.  At some point, the 3 star lottery luck runs out.
