MGoFish: "Michigan likely to land RB Kareem Walker"
MGoFish had posted this update tonight from his OSU source:
“I’m 99.999% sure he is out for OSU”, the source said about Walker. It turns out this last visit and some other things have rubbed the Buckeye coaching staff the wrong way and that’s why they’re going all in on Wisconsin running back commit Antonio Williams (who the source believes will flip and join the OSU class in the not-so-distant future)."
"I’d be willing to bet (money) that he suits up in Maize & Blue for his first collegiate game.”
Obviously this isnt a lock, but good sign moving forward in his recruitment.

^ He still does.

Pretty sure he's in his mid to late 20s. Guy's had some info in the past, but recruiting is too weird to believe this is for sure.

Maybe he's Lil Sebastian to my Ben Wyatt.....but I never have and still don't get what people see in Corley. I've watched him, I know football, I've seen good receivers, and I've always come away thinking "okay...?"
October 12th, 2015 at 11:44 PM ^
I get that same feeling with Corley and Walker as well but then I remember that Harbaugh wants them and everything is ok

Really? I thought Corleys film was amazing. Easily better than Hawkins or Mitchell. I'd really like to land him.
I do think Walker is a little overrated. He might be good but his film doesn't wow me.
October 13th, 2015 at 9:33 AM ^
In my opinion, I think Mitchell looke a lot better. I was always on the Mitchell train even before he committed. Corley just doesn't look that impressive but I think there is something to be said about locking down the good hometown recruits.
October 13th, 2015 at 10:37 AM ^
Yeah I see the opposite. Mitchell looks like an athletic freak who is good enough at football that you don't have to coach him a ton to get him on the field quickly. He's not running a 4.2 freak, but he's 6'3, fast enough, and just has that special factor with the ball in his hands. He can score any time he touches it.
Walker might be overrated, but he still looks really good. He's got great size and GREAT vision. You really can't teach vision. You can make guys faster, stronger (both areas that Walker is fine in already), better blockers and receivers...but to have the vision and balance that he has at 6'1 200 pounds is really special.

Seriously, just look at the pleasure in Soup's eyes in the camp picture that usually accompanies any post about Donnie Corley on this site for validation that he is a top priority in the coaches eyes. And I trust in their talent evaluation. Por ejemplo... http://mgoblog.com/content/monday-recruitin-plays-both-sides

The running back you see in Walker is the epitome of what Harbaugh wants in a running back. Seems like a good fit to me.

I thought Corley's film passed the eye test and then some. Also, I don't want Instate talent going anywhere but Blue...
October 13th, 2015 at 8:46 AM ^
You could have been looking for ankle breaking moves that just jump out at all of us. But Corley looks extremely smooth in the passing game, never fights the ball, seems to catch it equally well with his hands and his body. Looks almost effortless when he catches the ball and always seems to be in position to do something with it after he catches it. High points the ball excellently and no one makes up a step on him when he is in the open. Plus he has a really nice stop and start move. Pretty darn solid from what i can tell.
October 13th, 2015 at 10:04 AM ^
Tend to agree. Corley is a long athlete who is a smooth strider once he gets moving, but he takes little steps which slows his acceleration. When I watch Mitchell, he is well built and strong. More quick than fast. Smooth into the routes and aggressive in getting the ball on slants in traffic whereas Corley seems to get a bunch of jump balls.
Admitedly, I'm no expert and ultimately trust the judgement of Harbaugh and his staff. These are just my impressions when watching the tape.

Walker isn't coming back this weekend. But I think his relationship with OSU's staff isn't the best right now and he really liked his visit here, and he loves Jabrill.

Edited... Thanks I just saw Sam Webb's tweet that he will not be. Sam had mentioned the possibility of him coming on wtka this morning.
