I don't think he cares what "people think" but I think he cares about what could hurt the program when it comes to recruits and their families.
|1 day 23 hours ago||Depends on rating service||
Your point is well made. National team ranking services vary in how their formula works as well. For example Rivals only takes the top 20 commits while Scout takes the top 25. Based on ratings of new commitments for us and other teams around us results could be different on Rivals than on Scout.

We have moved up one spot to #6 with 20 commits and 3.21 avg stars. We are now infront of Bama who has 16 commits and 3.6 avg stars. Sparty is #5, 20 commits with 3.32 avg stars.
Things will change once the summer evaluations are done and rankings/stars get adjusted. Oh, and more recruits added/subtracted.

We have 2 more Johnsons this year, and one for 2015. How many Johnsons can we have??

I know he is not from the South, but just watched an interview with Rivals from 5* Challenge. His Dad loves Michigan, just needs to get his Mom up there. I could see Jay wanting to hold a spot for him.

How ironic if the Royals play the Cards and StL has homefield advantage because of this "grass roots effort" Royals were gifted the Series in 1985 after the blown call by Denkinger and now they might just return the favor.
Although, I still tell Cards fans that if they won Game 7 nobody would remember Denkinger's call. Gets under their skin!!

Great pics as I don't have a very good camera, and I don't know how to use my son's! There was a lot of energy from the coaches and campers, and I saw a lot of one on one coaching with kids of all ages and abilities. Drills were fast passed, well organized, and fun to watch. Wheatley was barking a few times at campers to finish the drill, even made two guys redo the drill! Great stuff!!
|3 weeks 1 day ago||That's what I was thinking too||
That's what I was thinking too. We just offered him at the camp and now he is going to commit without even being on campus? Not very typical. Besides, the twitter feed only said he was going to be on the radio show, not that he was announcing a commitment to a school. He could open it back up now that we offered. He may feel more big schools would start looking at him.

I don't have HBO, but I might find a way to watch John Oliver more often. This was extremely funny!
|5 weeks 4 days ago||Sportingintelligence.com||
According to Sportingintelligence.com and their recent Global Sports Salaries Survey 2015
NFL 1684 players with a total salary of $3,554,636,009 avg of $2,110,829 and the median is $840,000
NBA is the other extreme with fewer players at 448, total salary of $2,050,011,110 or an avg of $4,575,918 and a median of $2,77,910
Larger pool in the NFL but over 3x the players to share it with. If you play in the NBA you are a rare pro athlete!
There is a lot of kool sports salary data here. For example Michigan is #5 in avg NFL pay with 22 guys and #22 in NBA with 6 guys. NBA included countries and not just colleges. Very few colleges are in the top 35 in NFL avg and top 22 in NBA.

"Heelllloooooo Heisman!" Gotta love Keith Jackson!
Back in the day we would quote him all the time. One of best friends is a Buckeye fan. Another buddy of ours from Illinois would always quote Keith
|6 weeks 5 days ago||Okie State?||
I am not sold on Okie State, but your argument about TCUs schedule compared to Okie State is a difference maker. If TCU makes it to the playoff I predict Boykin wins the Heisman! Very possible as OSU QB & Elliott will split some votes. If TCU doesn't at least compete for the playoff again, Boykin is a possible finalist, but not the winner.
Every team has questions, as Mr Yost has pointed out, and that's why we love college football!!

Best of luck to Countess! Glad you got your Michigan degree!
|7 weeks 4 days ago||Irvin @ 3||
IMHO JB will start the season with Irvin @ 4, but with the hope of more development of Wagner, Robinson, Wilson, Donnal for the 4. Irvin will then be able to play more or exclusively at the 3, which is his natural position.
This will give more length on D, better DREB, create matchup problems for opponents, but still have D ability & size to contend with other power 4s in our conference and tournament.
With continued ball handling development and driving ability of Dawkins and Irvin, they could even play together as the 2/3.
I am excited for this team because JB has a tremendous amount of flexibility in his line up, JB does a great job in developing guys through out the year, and we will be able to match up with those elite teams in the tourney better.

Rivals has removed him from the 2015 Sparty commit list!
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Controlled game||
From this video has a very controlled game and seems mature for his age. Appears to have a strong body to drive, take the bump, and finish. I like his long distance shot, not much movement or effort which should make him consistent and not a streaky shooter. Not great hops. Interesting, as he is not a typicall body type for JB to recruit at the 2-3.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||i like it||
I like it, I thought Coleman was rated higher. His speed and explosiveness to compliment Bell. Tomlinson really likes this pick!!

It's so fantastic that Austin's father emphasized academics before basketball. It's extremely unfortunate the accidents that Austin experienced, but his father's emphasis on academics have set Austin up for the rest of his life. He should be used as a role model to all young athletes to understand that things can happen to you that are out of your control, but even with all that Austin has gone thru he still has his academic goals. Best of luck to you in your studies, Austin.
Austin discusses this in this video on MGoBlue.com

I saw brief highlights on SC of their game and the whole corner section was empty. Not sayin they didnt have a big crowd, but the numbers are always inflated!
|10 weeks 1 day ago||He won't be there||
I doubt he will be there when Battle arrives. He will very likely be in the Association when Battle gets to campus.
|10 weeks 1 day ago||Holy Crap||
Holy Crap that's funny!!
I can't believe she tried to take on that RB without squaring her shoulders and bending her knees. She did do a good job of keeping her head up in proper tackling form!
|10 weeks 1 day ago||Robinson/Irvin||
IMHO Robinson and Irvin will be the 3/4 combo, Dawkins and Chatman to compete at the 3/4. I really don't see Chatman playing much SG, but with his handles it makes him very versatile.
Too many options for JB this year. I think he will need to do one of his best coaching jobs ever to figure out these line-ups. Great problem to have!!
|10 weeks 3 days ago||Wings v Blues game||
I was at a Wings v Blues game in St L about 10 yrs ago standing in a long urinal line. Almost every guy has a beer in a plastic cup. A guy about 3 dudes in front of me sets his 3/4 full beer cup down on the floor between him and the guy pissin in the urinal next to him. When he is done pissin, picks up the beer and walks out drinking it! Everybody in line looked at each other like "Did we just see what we just saw!" Crazy!!
|10 weeks 5 days ago||He had 2||
He had 2 coming in and then lost McGary and Horford. He needs to get more in the system.
i also disagree that we have a huge need for ball handlers. JB likes 2, 3, & some 4s handle the ball.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||Rating service||
I know one AAU game doesn't make a career, but he scored 16pts (8-10) with 10 rebounds against Ike Anigbogu, a Cali kid. After that AAU tourney in Dallas UCLA offerred Anigbogu, and he only scored 7 points against Davis' Mustangs.
These kids are young and still developing. These rating services are not the only guys who can evaluate talent.

PJ will be a hot commodity soon. I hope he stays at WMU for a while, but I think he is on the fast track to run a Big 5 program soon.
