Jeff Moss story is out...

Submitted by Blue Indy on

Moss' "article" is about the PeruBall game/drill played at Exposure U. There were allegedly some injuries that took place, due to an absence of pads worn by the players, per the game's rules. He's comparing it to Morris' concussion debacle. Personally, the only thing I find "disgusting" about it is this: (If you are a parent of a child who was injured during the Exposure U. camp please contact me at [email protected].)

With all of the reporters at the camps one of them would have posted the story if there had been a spinal or vertebrae injury.  In addition, any ambulance would have made the local papers.  A quick Google searh for " "Football Camp" "High school" injured, injury vertebrae" during the last year gets no news story results.  Opeining it up to just " "Football Camp: "injured" gets a couple of hits, but nothing involving Harbaugh camps.  Thei "reporter" is making things up.

The highest award for journalists is named for Mr. "Remember the Maine! Atrocities in Cuba! Americans demand we go to war!" Joe Pulitzer. Ethics in journalism , while highly commendable, are by no means a policy, and seem increasingly rare.

I follow Moss because he calls out the garbage radio and print media in Detroit.  We have some of the worst media in the country here.  This story however is total garbage.  Really surprised he put this out.

Harbaugh's "PeruBall" is nothing compared to what we did back in the 70s during our summer football 2-a-days.

We are so over-the-top cautious and politically correct these days that ANYTHING that seems "harsh" or "distasteful" to liberal candy-ass journalists is decried as inhumane and a crime against humanity.

Good grief. Go pound dirt, Moss, you gravy-sucking pig dog!

I'm old enough to remember the days when we only had a total fucking freakout over IMPORTANT things, like people with tattoos, women showing a tiny bit of leg, people of different races holding hands or trying to attend the same schools, or people who are attracted to people of the same gender. Now there's some shit only real Americans find distateful and shocking and worth causing a fuss over like the old days.

Unironically, who the fuck is Jeff Moss? Never heard of him. This is pretty silly and might actually help Legend of Harbaugh by giving him more of a mystique of toughness.

This guy is just an ass. Like an ambulance chaser. He fancies himself a genius, but likely, he's incompetent.

I'd never heard of Jeff Moss before this, but I think he can adequately be summarized as a bitter, anonymous little POS with a computer and way too much time on his hands.

I don't get it, man. This situation isn't comparable to Shane's concussion, and subsequent return to that game. Is this going to be our reality for the next few years? Whenever anything happens, some troll will crawl out and say, "Ha! You're inconsistent! You're a hypocrite! You would be mad if this were Brady Hoke or Dave Brandon! Hahaha!"

Taking the time to respond to this means that the troll has won, but I guess that's what the internet exists for.

common during play to use one's hands on the upper torso, neck, face and head in a combat sport like football. It is not that difficult to have facial/lip/mouth/jaw injuries in competition, even with a face mask. Think about it

is no offense to the OP, but honestly, I think this thread should be taken down. It's meant as a dig, and it's grasping at straws at the VERY least...Pay no attention to this fool....not the OP, but the author...

Man I'm glad he didn't grow up in my neighborhood where we played football in the middle of the street or on gravel filled playgrounds. Everyone made it out ok as far as I remember.

I remember going to camp in '88. A buddy of mine was a WR and he ended up all bruised and burned diving for under thrown balls and just tussling with DB's. I split my lip. We both got over it.

The most dangerous stuff was the bs wrestling matches we'd get into at the dorms.

Morris was a well publicized, well documented (after the fact) failure of management.

Unless Moss can come up with some evidence that a kid was injured to the point of insensibility, and that the coaches ignored it/sent him back out, this is a non story to me.

Allegations are cheap. The way this was written it reminded me of the emails I'd get from relatives in the 90's that had me diving for Snopes. "No aunt Polly, flashing your lights at someone won't bring down a horde of death dealing gang bangers upon you...."

I just look at it as more free publicity for Harbaugh. Nothing will come out of it as I'm sure every kid there had to sign a waiver to participate. I bet Harbs was twisting arms to get kids to play Peru ball..

That's one of the (many) things that bothers me about this article and the writer. If he were an actual reporter with an editor, which he is claiming, his article would have sourced at least one person who didn't think it was a big deal. He's just asking for dirt, which is what a tabloid writer does.

He also apparently didn't even try to contact the Athletic Department, because even though they no doubt would not get back to him, he would have included that tidbit with a wink, like "University of Michigan spokesperson did not respond to requests for a statement."
